Honest Review - Beware Before You Book! Please be aware--this was the worst experience ever. At the beginning of my consultation, I spoke with a nurse named Star, who seemed very nice and knowledgeable. However, everything changed afterward. When I went in for my hair transplant, I never met or spoke with the doctor. Instead, I was taken to a small room and was not allowed to have anyone with me, even during the consultation. This felt awkward and completely unprofessional. The room itself was tiny--about the size of a full bathroom--which made me extremely anxious. My panic and anxiety were through the roof, yet I was rushed and told to hurry or I would lose time. The technicians performing my procedure made me feel like they were practicing on my head rather than providing expert care. The results? A complete disaster. I ended up losing more hair than ever before. Two years later, I am still beyond dissatisfied and disappointed. I paid for 3,500 grafts but only received 2,700--yet the cost was never adjusted. With financing, I ended up paying $10,700 for something that has negatively impacted my life every single day. I now have bald spots and continue losing chunks of hair. My Advice: Make sure a licensed doctor is actually performing your transplant. Ensure you're comfortable and don't let them pressure you into rushing the procedure. Don't fall for high-pressure tactics telling you to do it "now" or risk losing your money. Consider PRP treatments instead--it actually helped me. I have pictures to prove my results--don't make the same mistake I did. They don't care about you once they've taken your money. Find a reputable doctor, get a proper consultation, and confirm that a qualified professional--not just technicians--will be performing your procedure. I was forced to make a decision and pay in full for treatment or the discount won't apply. they didn't answer my question. I don't know who's going to do the treatment. this place is running by a bunch of unprofessional immature. they are scammers and running a fraud company. the customer service is horrible. At this point I would be very embarrassed to tell anyone that I wasted $34,000 ... the price for a Dr Mulholland "Top Plastic Surgeon " mini face and neck lift ( double the price of many other surgeons in Toronto ) .. this was a treat to myself to give my post retirement years a little boost .. I was looking forward to " what have you been up to ? Have you been on vacation ?.. You look terrific !." .. however I'm very disappointed to report that no one has even noticed that I had anything done !! ... I was very clear with Dr Mulholland that my main concerns were the marionette folds on either side of my mouth and the worry lines between my eyebrows .. I was two recommendations for surgery .. I chose the more expensive of the two ( Temporal ExtensionComposite Deep PlaneFace and Jaw Line Lift with Anterior Platymaplasty,, Neck Lift, Facial Fat Grafting, Facetite Morpheus FractionalRF/CO 2LaserResurfacingWrinkle Reduction. Sedation and overnight stay ) .. after all ..It's my face .. I want the best outcome possible .. the SHORT STORY is that now 2 years later and 2 separate surgeries I still have the marionette lines around my mouth and the worry lines between my brows .. so frustrating ! .. I'm told that it takes a year for the face to totally heal and" settle in "... I liked how I looked at about 5 weeks ... not long after that once more of the swelling went down it was very apparent to me that the surgery hadn't been a success .. .. after that Dr Mulholland then put a lump of filler in the right side of my face ... after that some filler on my cheeks .. at about the 6 month point ( early spring ) things were still very disappointing.. September 2 I called again .. it was announced that Dr Mulholland was " will be putting down his knife " .. there were no appointments available till after Christmas .. I called after Christmas and Dr Mulholland had left for his new life in California!!! ..He left without seeing me .. I Freaked!!! .. his nurses interviewed me and took photos which were sent to California .. .. shortly after that it was arranged that Dr Bell ( the new head of surgery ) was given permission to do the surgery once again.. Which he then did post consultation .. for which I was very grateful ... I had little to no pain , no complications or infection and incisions healed well ... however after swelling went down the Marionette folds and the worry lines are still there plus a bag under my left eye that wasn't there before .. after a post surgery appointment Dr Bell said he would see me again in a few months to see the results then .... at that time we had a look at my concerns and a good discussion about what improvements could be done to correct them .. the meeting felt very friendly, caring and assuring ... 2 days later I got an Email with the list of possible procedures along with prices for valued customers .. in addition I was then told then that I would have to pay for it myself !!! Critical: Zero Quality I had my HAIR TRANSPLANT 3 years ago at this place. They quoted for 3000 grafts. I agreed to go ahead. Process started around 9:00 a.m. and ended sharp at 4:30 p.m. They mentioned, they transplanted 3025 grafts. Now, after three years I had only few hairs been grown (20 - 30 hairs). When they started the procedure, I sensed that it was not an honest job. I feel that I was defrauded. I spoke to them. No proper answer was given. It was a huge waste of money. Went in for a consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist. I got terrible acne and been battling the skin war for more than 10 years. The staff was extremely nice and hospitable. Offered coffee, which was a total pleasure. +1 for service. Had an amazing time while I was there! The amount of care and attentiveness by the nurse is beyond words. My first "spa" treatments in Toronto. Always felt intimidated getting one, but the scars and pores were becoming a nuisance. Did not know what to expect when I went to the clinic the first time. Surprisingly the cost of the service was not much. Was suggested to do the Sonopeel for 4 treatments as a lighter therapy. Done two session so far. Was cool and relaxing. Not very long, lasted about 25ish minutes. Can't say my acnes were all gone, but my face definitely felt smoother and softer for the past weeks. Going back for another consultation for acne scar removal. I have tried benzoyl peroxide, but it wasn't getting rid of the deeper and darker scars. Their booking process is terrible. I've been a client for over 12 years and I still cannot just call and make an appointment for botox. I call reception, then they say a client care rep will call me back. She calls back in a day or two and leaves a message. Then I call her back. Then I email, then she emails me a time/date that doesn't work, then I email her back and don't get a reply ever again. All just to book a botox appointment; a service I have had with them a zillion times. This is ridiculous. EVERY OTHER PROVIDER has online booking, and here I can't even call reception to book an appointment. This is way too much headache, I am taking my business elsewhere. Also, unfortunately if you ask about another service, the client care rep schedules you to speak with someone else over the phone (all nice people to be fair) but the next customer rep ... again after waiting a week, tried to up sell me to a ridiculous degree. I asked about micro needling and was offered a package of services that might have suited a much older woman (three different types of lasers that would have cost thousands). The building is very confusing to determine which office to go to . I met with a consultant named Star and prior to that the receptionist at the front was also very rude . I sat with Star to discuss my concerns. She did not seem empathetic at all . in fact when I questioned what was the need for taking a health card if the procedure is not eligible for OHIP. Coverage she became defensive. I stated that I was not trying to be critical but this seemed a bit odd and may be in conflict with the Ministry of Health guidelines or confidentiality of my OHIP number. She seem disinterested and only wanted to fill out paperwork I requested for The physician to meet with me so that we can discuss my concerns Star stepped away asked me to step out of the room She came back and said he'll only see me if the paperwork was filled out . I later learned from the intake consultant that was improper and she would have Dr. Mullholand reach out directly and apologized for a very bad first impression. No patient should feel like they are a dollar figure or are a number on a deli board. No other hair restoration clinic required an OHIP. Card for the consult . If it was needed it would be requested for the necessity only. I attempted to speak to Dr. Mullholand. I asked him to reach out directly a few times and he does not return my call. Avoid this clinic unless you to want to be treated with disrespect! A patient never wants to feel like they are a dollar figure. I've felt insecure about the scar on my face, and decided to get scar removal after seeing Dr. Mulholland in a magazine. I did some research online and found people had great things to say about SpaMedica, so I booked a consultation with one of their cosmetic dermatologists named Dr. Jarvis. I felt very comfortable about doing the procedure after my consultation. I ended up scheduling a FotoFacial and Fractional CO2 laser treatment. I was scheduled for treatment the following week, and found the FotoFacial to be completely painless. Two weeks later I came back to do the Fractional CO2. I'm extremely happy with the results. Although the scar hasn't disappeared completely, it is significantly less visible and fades into my skin. I went there for a Morpheus treatment 6 months ago. a total of 3 treatment that was recommended by the nurse. I did not see any results and ended up with small burns on my face that left dark spots. I have been using their dark spot cream during before and the treatment and it has not helped. I did express my concern and they said it will go away after using the cream. it has not and no one from the clinic bothered to follow up with me. I went to do micro needling about a couple of years ago and was very disappointed the lady or nurse or whatever she was she was trying to take blood out of my arm and three times she put the needle in my right arm in my left arm and she couldn't get any blood I've never had problems getting blood and she use that as an excuse to not do my micro needling and they gave me some other facial which was crap I was so disappointed I actually took a loan out to do the microneedling I would not recommend that place to anybody it is not a reputable place. read more

I had two bad procedures, mircoblading tattoo removal and the worst one was the Morpheus treatment. The lady who did my tattoo removal took a section of my actual eyebrow off and because of the Morpheus treatment, I now have indents (divot) in my cheek which is clearly fat loss. That's the risk of chasing beauty, you actually can do more wrong. They also did botox less than 24 hrs before the Morpheus which I later found out no other clinics do (they safely wait 2 weeks) because the botox can move to where you don't want it. read more

I was recommended this place by my girlfriend (she's had laser hair removal performed here which she is thrilled with) who was recommended this place by a friend. I was slightly sceptical with the low yelp score but it does have high ratings on ratemd and realself (both are doctor rating websites) and with the other recommendation from my GF and her friend eased my uncertainty. I came in for the Miradry treatment (excessive sweating), too much info but I saved you Googling it so you're welcome. I was a tad uneasy about the whole procedure before my consult but Claudia and later Dr Mulholland made me feel a lot more confident about the treatment and dispelled any uncertainties I had remaining. As they answered all my questions regarding the side effects and what the aftercare I would need to do etc. The procedure itself was fine (got level 5, the highest setting), I didn't feel any pain during it but it was sore after and I did have bruising and swelling too (was informed of this during the consult and my research also said this would happen so I was expecting this). So far extremely happy with my results ( worth the discomfort) and I'll be back in few months time to complete the recommended two treatments. I am so pleased with my treatment and the service I received throughout the whole process. The staff are extremely pleasant and very professional. I would highly recommend SpaMedica to anyone. I should have listened to the poor reviews. I made an appointment for a consultation and, as advised in my confirmation email, I printed and filled out the forms beforehand. I showed up on time and proceeded to sit and wait almost 30 mins before finally getting up and leaving. This particularly irked me as this clinic has a cancellation policy that charges the client for appointments if not cancelled more than 24 hours in advance. After leaving I received a call from Claudia who, in the same breath, vaguely apologized but then in an indignant tone spoke over me and justified the wait. I'm not sure if SpaMedica underwent new management. I've heard that they have, but I rarely have any trouble with them keeping appointments or them starting on time. I had one time where my appointment was 15 minutes late but they were apologetic. But I do have problems rebooking them if I cancel which is fair enough. One time, I had to rebook because of MY scheduling issues and wasn't able to rebook until one month later. The staff is nice - nothing special, but definitely not rude. The place is clean. I bought a package of treatments there so I've been back at least 5 times. I think I've been offered a drink maybe once, although they now have a Keurig in the front, so I think you can serve yourself? But it's true; they are not very attentive. However the staff who do the treatments are sometimes too talkative. I get that it can get boring (my treatments can run to 90min), but I'm not really there to listen to their love life. I would rather do my readings or try to take a nap, but I would feel weird telling them to stop talking especially when they are massaging my body. I would give this place 4 stars if not for the fact that I'm not sure the treatment I bought (CoolSculpting and BodyFx) is working. I'm on my 4th treatment or so, and maybe see the belly fat move up but no changes in inches. I will change the rating if I see it working. I honestly would rather spend the money on a personal trainer than do the treatments again, but I can say it's more of an institutional issue of CoolSculpting not being effective than to say it's just because of this place. read more

My experience at SpaMedica has been good but some set backs: The good: -The nurses and staff in the surgical department are actually really great. I had 2 specific nurses who helped me through waking up after surgery and saw me for my follow ups - they were friendly, informative and professional -Dr. Mulholland is a knowledgeable surgeon; I went to 4 consults before choosing Dr.M and I knew I wanted to book with him immediately after meeting him. He walks you through the entire process (albeit maybe too quickly during the consult), the pro/cons and what to expect your outcome to be. Plus he is hilarious; he definitely has the ability to make you feel comfortable in his presence -I told them my previous quotes from other surgeons and without asking they intentionally came in lower than the others tax in to earn my business -For being is Yorkville, his prices are actually pretty competitive for surgical procedures -My surgery was 2 weeks ago now and I am VERY happy with my results -Despite what you're about to read, I would go back to SpaMedica The bad: -The staff downstairs in the non-surgical department are MISERABLE!!! Half of them looked like they literally just rolled out of bed, they run severely behind schedule and god forbid they had to crack a smile -I wish i was better informed about the surgery I had - the average recovery is 5-7 days but because I am a tiny person, there was additional stitching internally which causes a significantly longer and more painful recovery - it's concerning that I was not made aware of this -the consult rep I was assigned was very sales-y (I am in sales so I get it, but this can come off as forceful to other people, tone it down) -Don't make people wait for their pre-planned appointment time! This is something that really drives me insane. My first consult they booked me for 4pm, I took time off work and rushed there in city traffic - I was finally seen at 5pm and left around 7pm. I love travelling and in general hate the chore of shaving and/or waxing my legs so I finally decided to get a laser hair removal treatment package. I don't have the time to entertain cheaper laser hair clinics as the majority of reviews say that you need to undergo more than original number of treatments to get any results. SpaMedica was recommended by a friend, they have different lasers for different skin types and resistant hairs. But biggest for me was they guarantee their results. You receive a complimentary treatment or more if you don't see a significant hair reduction after your initial treatment program. So far I've undergone two hair removal treatments over the past 10 weeks with the third soon approaching. In case interesested I'm currently using the Gentle Max Pro one so far. They explained the built in spray that cools your skin is why I can barely feel the laser's effects. All great so far. Shout out to Nadia and Claudia are very friendly and helpful with any questions I had. Noticed my hair is growing slower and is definitely becoming thinner. My mother's friend, who's in her 60's now, had a facelift at Spamedica and has been going back to the clinic regularly for the past 5 years for botox, juvaderm and laser skin treatments. She loves her enhanced look so much that she brags about it EVERY time my parents and I get together with her and her family. Although annoying, her bragging worked, because she got my mom to do botox and fillers for her wrinkles, and my mother is impressed. She had never been exposed to plastic surgery, so she was incredibly worried about "mutating" her face (her words, not mine...), but decided to jump the gun because she was sick of investing so much into good skin care and not getting the results she wanted. She's gained so much more energy and confidence after the treatments, and it's so nice to see her full of life again. Seeing that my mother had a great experience at Spamedica, I went in to check the place out myself. As it was my first time at a cosmetic clinic, I did not want to commit to any injections just yet, so I went to get a Silkpeel facial after a very stressful week at work. The ladies at the clinic were very friendly and accommodating. To be honest, the silkpeel made my face a bit red for the rest of the day, and I found it broke me out a little bit the next day, but after the second day, my skin was SO smooth and glowy! I was also given some Skinceuticals and Vivier sample skincare products after telling them what I was currently using (which I've invested in now and religiously use on the daily!!). My second time was for botox for my jaw muscles, and fillers for my lips (yes, I caved in to the "Kylie Jenner lips" craze). I thought I went in with enough knowledge on the injections, but my goodness was I wrong. I learned SO much during my consultation and during the actual injections. The nurses/staffs were very friendly, yet very professional. They reassured me that I'm in good hands, and that they've gotten some work done by the doctor himself - and they looked flawless! The doctor was a little intimidating at first, especially since I was sweating pools thinking about worse case scenarios in my head. Dr.Mulholland answered all my questions and concerns, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with me. He kept me fairly distracted by talking about his kids who are around my age, and told me how getting a tattoo would be worse than getting lip injections. My mom had said the man was intelligent and professional, but I didn't expect all of this! To be honest, I was a little skeptical because the Yelp reviews are absolute crap regarding this clinic, but I found that most of the other clinics aren't too high up there in Yelp as well. Here's a tip: if you're going to invest in these kinds of treatments and procedures, I'd recommend checking out Real Self - a dedicated website for doctor ratings. All in all, the changes were subtle but definitely enhanced. My lips were kind of scary the first two days, but either than that I had nothing gone wrong, and I am so so so happy with the results. The healing process was a piece of cake, but my jaw muscles are still slowly decreasing (it apparently takes about 3 months for it to really show effect). I had a tummy tuck in 2010. It was an ok experience. 8 years later I realized how imperfect the job was! There are some fat deposits in my tummy that Dr. Mulholland said were going to go away with time, but they haven't. The scar is sloppy and I have some extra skin on top of the scar on one side. I had broken blood vessels on my face. I went to spa medical to get them zapped away. I had an initial consultation with Claudia. I don't think she is a nurse and definitely NOT a Dr. Her main purpose is to sell you an upgraded package for procedures you do not need. Yes, all you are to them are dollar signs. I wanted to see a dermatologist and not a package pusher but was declined. The laser procedure was ineffective as I was told by different employees 3 different timelines for the procedure in the package I did not need. They were not spaced out properly, even Claudia knowing full well I would be vacationing (pre-Covid), and would be in the sun, booked me anyway. I still have one procedure left in my package but the package I paid thousands for was not effective due to the incompetence of staff and Claudia's mandate to "suck them in for more than they need." I went here for two years, spent a few thousand... and slowly over the course of which they completely destroyed my skin with misplacement of filler as I have now come to see (misuse of filler takes time to stretch and deform the skin) ... my last treatment Desiree completely botched my face ... ignored what I asked her to do, filled the sides of my face and left me with lumps and two huge holes in my face and then refused to touch it or fix it. It takes artistry to inject fillers... that which they do not have. Instead the manager offers me a $500 coupon towards a $3500 set of treatments as a gesture of "good will" ! No acknowledgment of what they did .. just a refund on my last treatment and a "part ways" Lol.. and good will! They're lucky I'm not suing them. Charlatans. Had a consult with my plastic surgeon and dermatologist and they confirmed the error and damage she has done to my face. The front desk staff also double charged me on my last treatment there, even argued with me when I said I think they have the wrong price... only when I made her go and check did she come back and say yes she indeed over charged me and they refunded me. I would have walked out if there going double. I am now having to pay close to $5000 to have a plastic surgeon fix their work. My advice is pay a little more and go to someone reputable. I called and asked a few questions regarding botox and procedures. They answered them and let me know a time for a consultation and if I wanted to get it done the same day as the consult, I'd have to put a $100 deposit for the doctor. I paid that. I went in for the consult and it turns out that botox is not used around the mouth area and she instead said fillers is what would be needed. I said I wasnt comfortable with that and also the price was much more. I said I would not proceed. I have called and asked for my deposit and had two unanswered calls this week. I finally got a hold of someone and they said they never do refunds no matter the circumstance. I outlined that I had a full conversation on what I was looking for and questions regarding it and the first time I heard otherwise was in office. I also at no point was told the deposit was not refundable, should a procedure be thousands more and not something you'd be willing or comfortable doing. She was very rude and said she couldnt do anything and shed tell someone to call me. I said id been waiting for someone to call for five days. So this place is like a futuristic spaceship haha. I LOVED Dr. Mullholland. He actually sits with you for a long time and talks - gets to know about your life and your personality before he recommends procedures. I actually was shocked he did not push anything, actually recommending something less costly than what I wanted originally. In the end, I couldn't afford to do the procedures and decided to wait a few years until the need was greater. The price to see the doctor is a lot more than most doctors in the city (which is why I deducted a star) and the procedures cost a little more as well I think, but after you meet the doctor, you really feel confident in his ability. He is supposed to be in the top 3 in Toronto and you really do feel like this is the case after you speak to him. read more

I have recently had a number of cosmetic procedures done by Dr Mulholland and SpaMedica and I can't say enough great things about my experience. The staff are amazing, very professional and friendly, they really make you feel at ease and can answer all your questions and concerns. The work done by Dr Mulholland is absolutely amazing. If I could give doctor Mulholland a zero star rating I would. I got a rhinoplasty from him just over a year ago. When I first called spa medica to book my consultation they were able to book me within that week and their customer service was amazing. However this hospitality did not last long. After my surgery I never saw Dr. Mulholland again. They booked me a follow up appointment, so I figured this meant I was meeting with Dr. Mulholland for him to make sure my nose was healing properly, however it was only for photos and he did not make an appearance even after I asked. After my nose was done healing it started to look very lop sided and non-symmetrical. To ad on to that, I was having a lot of difficulty breathing. At this point, I was getting very worried. I soon after found out my nasal valve had collapsed from another surgeon I know. This only got worse, so I called spa medica to book an appointment to see Dr. Mulholland to see how this could be resolved. Once again, it was getting very serious. When I spoke with the receptionist on the phone she said I would not be able to see him until January... and I called in August. I can barley breathe through my nose at all so January wasn't going to cut it. They do not care who you are unless you are a new client and willing to pay the $500 consultation fee. I would not recommend going to them for anything. After my terrible experience I spoke to a few people who have gone to Dr. Mulholland and they all said he refused to see them for follow ups when they said something has gone wrong. They do not care about their patients post surgery. I now have to get a second rhinoplasty to fix my collapsed nasal valve and it will not be done by Dr.Mulholland. Post operation follow ups should be mandatory after surgeries and it is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful that he does not take the time to check on this patients. As a surgeon, as a DOCTOR you make a vow to care to your patients, in every manner. He broke this vow and as a doctor I no longer respect him. I am writing this to save all your time and money. Don't get confused by all his publicity and Real Housewives sh*t, that is all a facade. He shouldn't be a well-known doctor. He botches. read more

So difficult to book appointments with. They request that you come early but then make you wait without offering coffee or water. I bought a package of facials and booked months in advance but they would constantly call and cancel right before and then I would have to wait weeks for my next one. It is honestly so hard to get a hold of them. They don't answer pricing questions over the phone, which is understandable since it's a case by case situation however I wanted to ask what the listed price online entailed, did that price include the garment I'd be wearing after liposuction? Did it include anesthesia? BUT I was rushed off the phone "You'll have to ask him after you book an appointment and he charges $375 for a consult". I was extremely excited to book, I'm glad I didn't, a lot of the reviews say that staff are rude and inattentive. I've been to other surgeons (in the same Avenue area), had plenty of work done and having friendly, mindful staff makes a huge difference. read more

I wanted Juvederm filler in my upper cheeks. The nurse? positioned the needle vertically under my lower cheek area and injected the filler up. I've never seen it done that way and even common sense would tell you that it couldn't possibly reach the area I wanted filled. My lower cheek area looks even worse, as all the filler is in the lower part of the cheek, not the upper part that is usually filled. I went back and all they said was that I should pay for additional filler??? If she had put in the right location then I probably would have had enough the first time. Now I have to wait until it dissolves. I thought Dr. Mulholland had a good reputation but I won't be going back there. read more

I had an appointment for juvederm to be injected into my lips on Friday the 15th at 3:30. I was told to arrive 15 minutes earlier than my appointment . I arrived at 3:10 , my first consultation was with a lady named Claudia at 3:30 , I don't even know what she was there or if she was any sort of registered nurse at all. Afterwards I was told to I would consult with a nurse and then have my injections done immediately after . I sat in the reception area for another 25 minutes or so and finally Joanne came to meet me and bring me for a consultation to see exactly what I wanted . She spoke to me for about 5 minutes and seemed a little bit unorganized and wasn't very friendly . I feel it's part of the nurses job to build a trusting relationship so the patient feels more comfortable and safe. She then asked Doctor mulholland to come into the room and meet me . It was very brief and after he had left she told me she couldn't inject me until 4:30. So I then had to return to the reception area for an additional 25-30 minutes and finally had my juvederm administered . The process seemed too fast and she didn't use very much finesse as the past nurses I've been with have . After the billing and going over after-care it was almost quarter to five . So I had been at the medical office for more than an hour and a half for such a small procedure which is completely ridiculous and not worth the discounted price at all. It's been 3 days since my appointment and I have 2 large bumps on my upper lip which are noticeable to other people . I did online research and there's been many articles that say the bumps are likely caused due to poor technique when inserting and removing the needle. I would not reccommend anyone going to spa medica because they have horrible customer service and quickly get their patients in and out without doing a proper job. read more
