It goes to show, every review is 5 stars! A business proves themselves by performance, credibility and accuracy and Spalding Law Center exceeded this level of standards. It's interesting to read through the other reviews because there's a very similar feeling and tone, which I resonate with completely. From simply being so mentally bogged down, feeling that you lost. My story, I made a couple phone calls to the "Top Bankruptcy Lawyers". One was simply an assembly line, get a number. The second I actually visited; it was whatever high rise in the loop, and one man, in a leased out office for his business, Stark of any human quality. Desk, couple papers, and his law degree. Top of that, his personality was a perfect match. Being I already did the research of the rules, requirements, about the whole process, he wasn't even following the guidelines, and of course he wanted my credit card within five minutes. Point being, you don't want that for this process (or any really), but especially this. Back to square one. I did my yelp reviews and it was Angela. By this point though, even though their office is ridiculously warm, cozy and welcoming, as well as the people working there, my nerves were done. I know walking through the door my attitude was bad; it was more and more documents to fill out (which I realized was the proper way to handle this) of all the stuff you never thought you would be doing. In I walk into my appointment with Angela Spalding. Again, my attitude, was "just get me out of here". However, the more she started talking and not taking my state of mind personally, we ended up talking at least hour and a half. And I LIKED that. You want someone who's a real person, gives you the straight facts, and goes through the pros and cons. I absolutely walked out that day with the opposite attitude I had walking in. And it wasn't some sale she was filling my ears with. Just the facts, but spent any time longer that most lawyers would even consider. I slowly started the "After" processes she offered. Start re-building, and I surely did. Prepaid credit card to start, never charged more than half of credit line, paid on time, every time. 3-4 months later, applied for a major credit card. Green light. Just couple months later, got a job now, and one more card (with company I actually charged off in the bankruptcy) with what I thought was a generous credit line. Credit score had gotten to 680-690 at this point. Not too bad for the previous year having bills stacked you couldn't even look at (my bankruptcy was under $15k too). Lastly, got an auto loan (for a needle in haystack deal, $14k Acura, through MERCEDES DEALERSHIP) at 7%. Sure it isn't zero or one, but it was reasonable. Basically, the whole thing was behind me and even from day one after court, the weight was just off. And I truly attribute Angela and her crew for getting me to that place again. Honestly... I have to say I was very skeptical of ANY Law firm, I have never had a GOOD experienced with one. My life in shambles with a broken ankle mounting debt, very little money to live on (sometimes none) I had to give up my apartment, my car, my lifestyle as I knew it. As much as I did not want to do it, but bankruptcy was the only answer. When I got to Spalding Law Center after researching Angela's background online I was greeted personally by Angela I felt comfortable by her approach and how she really knew her profession. Angela as they say "kept it real" with me but when I left her office I was still in doubt and did not pay the retaining fee. I shopped around more, but ended up right back at her office with my fee. But the next few months was filled with chaos and my money was very low and was running out Angela understood and helped me through everything... I can distinctly here here say "we do not give up on our "friends" "take your time I will work with you"... And that is exactly what she did I was never rushed into anything or was ever made to feel inferior to my surroundings. Life is so hard - one day your credit score is perfect, you're paying all of your bills even if you're struggling, the next day, you lose your job, can't find another one and all of your bills are behind. Declaring bankruptcy is unavoidable, but can be so stressful- from deciding you need to and accepting that fact to all the paperwork, months of waiting, the anxiety, fear it won't work and the aftermath. Angela Spalding and her team do everything in their power to ease your anxiety and try and explain the process in a clear, easy way. She's thorough, and may seem like she's asking too many questions - however when you get to court time, you understand why she did all of her homework and was so meticulous with her fact-finding and research. I was leary about choosing a neighborhood attorney over a downtown firm, however it would also mean I could easily come into the office and not have to shuffle the downtown crowd. Don't let the address fool you - the firm is A plus in all regards. I was probably a very challenging client, and they went above and beyond to try and help me get through the bankruptcy. I filed for bankruptcy last year after months and months of contemplation. After my free consultation, I began to gather my documents. The Spalding team was patient with me as I got my paperwork together, following up with me when I would drop the ball. Angela worked with me until I was officially ready to file. On the day of the actual hearing, she was present and walked me through the process, assuring me every step of the way. Angela is as good as they get. She helped me to understand the bankruptcy process step by step. She looked at my life as a whole as a single working mom and gave great advise. Along with taking the classes for money management I am on the right track today. The customer service is excellent, the secretary was prompt with calling me back and so was Angela.
