I believe I initially found Anthony from some list of attorneys that deal with VA home loans and his office happens to be close to my home. I asked him many questions when I was drafting up my purchase agreement and necessary addenda, and asked many questions right up until closing. Anthony and Kara answered all my questions and were very timely in doing so. They were also proactive in communicating with me, my lender, and my sellers attorney to keep everything moving forward. I ended up closing just shy of 30 days from the day my purchase agreement was signed. At closing (yesterday), Anthony was very patient and helpful in going over every document while we were signing. I reached out via Yelp and we communicated mostly through email. I was given web forms to pay via credit card for the deposit and final transaction. We did most of the will creation over email, I was sent a form to complete then scan, and email back. For the final will creation, I had to visit the office in person and sign, along with Erwin's team. In all, it was a pretty realistic transaction for the creation of a will. Granted my will is not complex, so I cannot speak for someone with a lot of requirements, but Erwin Law did a great job for a basic will.

Tom may try…read moreto say he didn't assist me, but he did assist me with purchasing a home in Dec 2019 and also was supposed to be my registered agent for 2019 on one of my LLCs where he alleged the documents were submitted and one year later I have penalties and found out they were never submitted and it was not recorded. Also worth noting that I followed up five months following that to confirm it was done, he said it should still happen because of the pandemic it was taking a while. He did zero-research and he was wrong. Now I have to pay for his mistakes. Tom does not like questions as it requires him to respond in a timely manner which his it appears he is lacking communication skills. Unless it is going to make him a substantial amount of money he doesn't want to respond and don't expect details--five word answers all day long. He will be your registered agent, but made it feel I was wasting his time. When I told him I used my other real estate attorney because I HAD TO SWITCH, he tells me "I am glad you found someone that would work for $200 a year". Funny thing is he works for $110/year so he must want the business...? The goal was to align with a young professional to build a long-term working relationship with. Lesson-learned, you are better-off with experience and if you feel something is off in the beginning--act on that feeling, trust your gut.

Long overdue but deserving nonetheless. After I was finally ready to place an offer on a condo, I turned to a friend who had made multiple home purchases in Chicago and asked if he could recommend any real estate attorneys. His first and only answer was Avni Shah. As it turned out, my real estate agent recommended her as well. After hearing such high praises, I decided on Avni to help with my purchase. Before closing, negotiations took place including seeking a credit due to problems that arose during the inspection and getting another credit after a 41% increase in the parking space attached to the condo was discovered late in the process. Eventually, she was able to secure both credits from the seller. In addition, I can't speak enough to Avni's communication skills. As a first time home buyer, the process can be intimidating at times but Avni was available over the phone, email, or text to help make sense of any confusing steps. I learned about Bell Law through my realtor and couldn't have been more pleased. I worked with Avni and Dawn and they we're very responsive, and attentive to any questions I had. The purchase we were working on was a short sale in which the selling party/bank was, at times, slow to respond to our requests. Avni was great at keeping tabs on what we were waiting for and being persistent in our endeavor to resolve any outstanding issues. Police was called and I hired Sherwood law group om reccomendation. Whole process with them was on push base, go to certain doctor, do therapy at certain place, at the end I was offered same amount what insurance told me when on the phone with them. After several months going to negotions I was told by lawyers to accept it or to go to court what I declined. Over all bad experience and I would not recommend this group to anybody.
