I recently had a brief phone conversation with Alisa at Levin Law, although our conversation was brief, I gained so much insight from her guidance in that short period of time. Alisa practical pointers regarding the pros and cons of real estate, credit score and the process of placing personal property into a trust were incredibly helpful. I truly appreciate her expertise and clarity, and she is officially my go-to professional at Levin Law for any future legal matters. read more

Never return calls, Bad example of a Lawyer. Left emails , voicemails no getting in touch with this person. It makes you wonder are they in business for pleasure or money or just why are they in busines. Don't waste time here. read more

I recently consulted Alisa & Levin Law for a matter related to condominium ownership and real estate/condominium law. I'm current part of a poorly managed condo building, although I've been attempting to help turn this around. Essentially, the owners above me had issues with their HVAC system, causing water damage to my ceiling. Since I have little faith in property management companies, I went to Alisa for a second opinion and to understand my rights regarding the IL Condo Association Law. She identified several items where the property management company led our board association in the wrong direction. Alisa also reasoned to why my current property management company provided an incorrect initial assessment regarding the HVAC system/water damage. Alisa communicated promptly using Yelp messaging and accepted payment via Zelle for the consultation fee. Perhaps it's because Alisa is quite busy, but looking into a more robust scheduling system or accounting platform would help manage clients, because there was a decent amount of back and forth to just get the consultation setup. Perhaps due to this situation's rapid escalation, there was some anxiety around the situation due to the response time, but this is why many people reach out to lawyers? Regardless, Alisa was very personable and I highly recommend her for condominium law in Chicago and the state of IL. read more

Alisa & Levin law are incredibly knowledgeable and I trust their expertise on all things real estate. I have a rental property and Alisa has taken the time to consult with me over the phone on more than one occasion, each time providing advice that was in my best interest. It's not every day that I have to seek legal advice. But, when I do... I look forward to speaking with Alisa! 5 Stars! read more

I just talked to Ms. Leven. Wow. What a knowledgeable, polite, honest and down to earth person she is. I learned a lot from her today. She answered all my questions and cautioned me about pit falls of line of action I was thinking to take. She educated me on pluses and minuses related to serving an eviction notice. She was kind enough to email me some forms related to my issue. If I need any future legal help, I am definitely going to call her. Keep up the great service and God bless you. read more

Alisa was really friendly and gave honest advice about my claim...I didn't use her due to the size of my claim (It was frankly pretty small) but she shot me straight and gave me some other options. Thank you Alisa! read more

Received excellent advice from this very knowledgable and professional lawyer. Would highly recommend!

Ms. Levin is professional and incredibly smart. She has a wonderful way of being very caring and compassionate. A pleasure to work with her. She's a Super Lawyer and highly recommended! read more

We had an absolute horrible experience working with Alisa. She is extremely rude, unprofessional and lacks basic client service skills. We should have fired her after her first call with our relator. She had the nerve to ask our realtor if she could be shared agent on the sell side for our condo because she "makes no money on these deals." She also refused to communicate with our realtor even after I asked her several times to keep her cc'd on emails. She acted like a know it all with my realtor and bossed her around telling her she wasn't allowed to talk to the lendor. "I am quite aware of my job responsibilities and if a mortgage broker or lender contact you you should simply state that they are free to contact counsel or the client directly. I am also a licensed real estate broker and therefore I'm also very familiar with the role of an agent and broker and a real estate transaction." (screenshots attached of emails) During our 5 day attorney review, Alisa went on vacation. We had some issues come up during the inspection and I sent her an email asking if we could chat and she responded with "I am on vacation and literally have plans all evening." Well Alisa, if you knew you were going to be on vacation and not available, you should have never taken us on as clients. (screenshots attached of emails) After the review, I asked her to send an updated contracted and she refused. She kept telling me to pull out a page, replace with the new one, scan in then send over to the lendors. If she had the updated contract in full, why make me go through extra steps to get to the lendor. Or why not she send to the lendor? Because she is lazy. (screenshots attached of emails) The last straw for us before firing Alisa came when our closing date changed. She was going to be on vacation again and tried making us change the date to a day that worked for her. Again, who is the client here? I would choose anyone over Alisa. She added so much stress to a situation where she should have been relieving it. read more

Alisa represented me in selling my Chicago condo. She was very responsive and clearly laid out all the steps. Any questions I asked, she answered. She worked with the buyer attorney and lender and went above and beyond to meet the buyer closing date even though the buyer did some steps out of order and had a tight rate lock expiration as a result. She represented me at closing as I was out of town and I had nothing but confidence that she would handle any issues/questions. I definitely recommend Alisa as an attorney for real estate transactions. read more

I highly recommend Alisa Levin! She's highly knowledgeable and prompt with responses. She assisted me through a difficult time and was nothing but compassionate, caring and respectful of my situation. She absolutely made the process more bearable. read more

We consulted with Alisa on a few business matters in the past.  She was accessible and very helpful and gave us some great insights and smart guidance.  When we decided to purchase a home, we were very confident in asking her to represent us. The purchase hit snags and Alisa took the time to explain the situation and the options and negotiated extra time for us to consider what we should do.  It was not an easy situation.  Alisa's calm and tactful presence made it much less stressful and in the end we made the decision that was right for us. Buying (or selling) a house is stressful in the best of times.  Alisa's help was invaluable. read more

I initially came across Alisa on Yelp. My criteria were that she is local and good Yelp reviews. She essentially told me I didn't need a lawyer and I could resolve the matter myself, which I did. She was also recommended by a friend for another matter. She is really knowledgeable on real estate matters. If you need to do an eviction, especially in the city, she is your lawyer. Do not even think about doing it yourself or going elsewhere. read more

I can't say enough about Alisa Levin. Professional, straightforward, honest, and extremely capable. She recently helped me with a tenant/landlord situation and not only did she give me incredibly helpful advice before I even had her on retainer, she won my case and achieved the best possible outcome for me, AND she even charged me less than I originally thought and agreed to because she was so honest about the actual time she needed to win my case for me. I will definitely retain Alisa for any legal needs I have in the future and I would recommend her to anyone in need of a competent lawyer. read more

Alisa was a bulldog lawyer in a good way. She fought for things in my contract that I didn't even think about asking for. She got me a $2,000 credit and a builder's warranty that I was about to leave on the table. She was also very knowledgable about real estate in general and gave me several tips and referrals. You definitely want Alisa Levin on your side. She is diligent, and at times aggressive when protecting your best interest. She went WAY above and beyond the time I anticipated she would spend reviewing my contract for a commercial real estate purchase. In fact, she helped me re-write it all together! Finally, I like the fact that she is in the neighborhood and much more accessible than a downtown law firm. She is VERY reasonably priced. If you need a lawyer to review a real estate contract, hire her before the opposing side does! read more

I highly recommend Alisa! She's very knowledgable, detailed and prompt. I contacted her looking for some general guidance regarding a landlord-tenant issue and got so much more in return. 5 stars!!! read more

I must say that I had very bad feelings and reservations about lawyers prior to making connection with Ms. Levin recently. Not only she provided an honest opinion but guided me in the correct direction. Her professionalism, expertise in realestate law, and her genuine desire to offer the best advise( even when she knows there is no financial reward for her to do so) for her customers are super! Her public service is evident from her articles she publishes online regularly. I highly recommend her. read more

Just called for a consult regarding a dishonest, lazy contractor who is not completing the promised work as agreed upon. I appreciate her upfront, down to earth perspective and although we got cut off, she provided some good suggestions and personal recommendations for locksmith. Although some have interpreted her manneras "rude," I preferred the direct, honest approach. Litigation is not about frills and manners, it is all business and getting it done. In the future if I require any legal services (hopefully not), I will not hesitate to contact Alisa. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Alisa. She helped me through some contractor nightmares to push for what I needed to be fixed. Not only did she help me understand the situation better and what my rights were, she also coached me through multiple options. I'd refer Alisa to anyone as she is very knowledgeable, trust worthy, and a great listener. read more

As you've may have read from other reviews below... my story is the same. Alisa has been helping me with tenant/landlord issues for well over 2 months right now (even without a retainer). When I first reached out to her, she was very prompt with communicating (she had been on vacation and still managed to help me out during some of the tough parts of the process). Through communication, you can tell Alisa knows her stuff. She is very knowledgable, professional and puts you at ease (these things can be very stressful). The experience has been as good as it can get with legal problems, I cannot recommend her enough. read more

I was in need of a real estate attorney for a condo purchase in the city. After sending Alisa some necessary paperwork regarding my real estate attorney needs, she immediately got to work. She is honest, assertive and sharp as a tact. With this being time sensitive, her quick response to phone calls and emails was very helpful. She also has great communication skills and explained everything in such detail along with making sure I understood. She also gave anticipatory guidance regarding issues I should be aware of moving forward, my rights as a buyer and ways to protect myself and my purchase. In the end, the transaction didn't go through, but I will for sure be using Alisa the next time around. read more

Alisa helped me with a previous tenant who filed a lawsuit against me. I already had an attorney but used her for a consultation. I immediately knew that she needed to handle my case. I ended up settling my case as it was the most cost effective and least stressful way for me. read more

We needed representation for a real estate transaction and Ms. Levin was by far the most accommodating, knowledgeable and ethical lawyer we could find. I wasn't able to work with Alisa directly because I couldn't afford her fees. However, she was extremely helpful in guiding me on where to get started and referring me to a contingency attorney who could take my case with minimal up front cost to me. She was very honest and just from her advice I feel like I already have a better idea of the legal battle that I'm facing. Also, she was extremely quick to respond - even though I'm not even a client. Thank you! read more

Alisa delivered beyond our expectations. We are a NY/DC based company, and needed good representation in Illinois to file a motion in court on our behalf. She came highly recommended, and certainly lived up to it. Our position was a bit of a long shot, but the briefs she put together got the job done. The motion were well written, well researched, powerful, coupled with creativity. She got the Judge to grant our motion, and our company is bound to save monies deep into the six-figures as a result. I would consider her a "go to" attorney for anyone facing the need for rock solid representaion for any commercial litigation. read more

I wish I had Attorney Levin representing me from the beginning. She would have honestly informed me of my best options for damage control, and not drag a case on unnecessarily. After a short time with her, I realized that I now have someone that is knowledgeable, professional, fearless, and capable in my corner. She is a powerhouse. When I came to Attorney Levin, I was overwhelmed and drained. She attentively listened to my situation, gave an honest assessment and redirected my energy to the task at hand. She discussed my options, and formulated how to take more control over the problem going forward. In addition to being a force to reckon with, Attorney Levin is compassionate and humorous as well. Her honesty, strength and energy has given me the confidence that going forth, with her assistance, I can either avoid potentially adverse situations, or be able to conquer them where needed. I cannot stress enough that getting Attorney Levin to take control of a situation from the outset WILL be in your best interest. read more

So, I myself am an attorney. Several years ago, I retained Ms. Levin to represent me in an ongoing partnership dissolution case. For three years, Ms. Levin represented me patiently, calmly and fairly in that matter. She would provide me honest feedback even if it was feedback that ultimately limited my legal posture in the case. Ultimately, she weathered the storm with me through the emotional and legal nightmare to a very comfortable, safe and satisfactory conclusion. I found her legal acumen to be strong in business, real estate and general litigation issues. Her hourly rate and total attorney's fee was a bargain considering it would have cost me 2-3 times more for similar representation had I retained a larger firm. Since that time, I have referred various clients and other individuals to Ms. Levin for representation in commercial litigation and real estate matters. In each of those instances, the referred have been very happy with her representation and have thanked me for those referrals. All in all, Ms. Levin is the attorney you turn to when you need honest, high caliber counsel at fair fee. read more

I attempted to use Levin Law for a tenant law issue and after having putting her on retainer, sharing all the paperwork with her, and wasting my time and money going over my case with her, she gave me incorrect information and then declined to work with me due to her petty personality. She had to return all my paperwork, wasting even more precious time with my case when she knew every delay cost me more money. She had zero empathy for my situation. I was able to find another lawyer who was actually able to garnish wages for me, getting me more money back than Levin ever even suggested that I'd be able to get. I definately do not recommend working with her. Its pretty easy to find someone good if you need timely and thorough assistance with a landlord/tenant eviction. Update... she says she doesnt remember me in her response below. That's a good one. Well, she's is worse than I remember then because that is a lie. I still have the emails to prove myself. read more

I'm really impressed with Alisa's legal knowledge and professionalism. We attended law school together, but practice in different cities. I can't say enough good things about Alisa Levin. She is competent, professional, straight-forward, and extremely knowledgeable. What really makes Alisa stand out is her wonderful personality and attentiveness. When I was recently dealing with some landlord/tenant issues, she gave me great advice and answered all of my questions before I even had her on retainer. I'd dealt with several other lawyers before I found Alisa which just served to highlight how overwhelming superior she is. Highly recommend! read more

I'm a Chicago landlord looking to evict one of my tenants for taking in a roommate without my consent. Alisa Levin reviewed the lease and pointed out that it was non-compliant with the Chicago Residential Landlord Tenant Ordinance (CRLTO) and my lease had several flaws that can make it more costly and take longer to evict a tenant in Chicago. Alisa suggested some options and I decided to allow my tenant to terminate the current lease and sign a new lease adding the roommate with an agree rent increase. She provided me a copy of the CRLTO and a sample Chicago compliant lease to use with my Chicago tenants. Alisa places her clients' interest first. She could have gone forward with the eviction and made a lot of money in the eviction process. But Alisa did what was best for me (not to mention saving me a lot of money by talking me out of the eviction). Her honesty and integrity will keep me coming back whenever I need an attorney or legal advice. read more
