First things first, yes it's basically ice cream shaped as spaghetti, strawberry sauce as the toppings, and whipped cream as the base. It's easy to dismiss this as a gimmick at first, luring tourists into cutesy creations of representing food that it's not. Perhaps, it's just a cheeky reminder to never judge on appearances, either way, whatever reason, there's always a perfect occasion to eat ice cream.
The flavors are all well developed and the toppings are the twist. All provocative and push the boundaries of "just being ice cream". I'm almost certain that the flavors are seasonal as the owner doesn't post the flavors on her website, although I'm sure the staples of chocolate and vanilla will be ever present.
We visited Paris in May and I was ready for the rain and intermittent patches of sunshine. Nope. It was ALL sunshine and most days felt like summer. Which is not a bad thing! My husband surprised me with the lemon sorbet with shaved mint leaves on top. Every bite of this cooling treat was a reminder of how much I love the fresh offerings of summer. The sorbet was prominently tart, with a hint of sugar, but no apologies from the lemon for sure. The trimmings of mint was what elevated this simple cold concoction. It almost tasted like a frozen mojito, which truly i wouldn't be mad if it really was.
