So we were under the interpretation that this was a museum or something but it was not. It is truly someone's house, which is super cool, but if you go please know it is not for going inside to view as you are trespassing. I took this picture from across the street to highlight how unique it looks, but please know this is not a business to go visit.

Did a double-take when I saw the dinosaurs! Then I saw the house. Creative genius!! It was a lot of fun to see in person.

Since I moved here to Albuquerque many moons ago I've heard so much about this place. I never knew where it was nor did I find the time to look. Today I had some time I went for it! The unique architecture of this place I love so much! I wish my own home was just as unique and cool looking! The dinosaurs in the lawn in front of the wall are a bonus touch to this places awesomeness! If the owner ever offers a tour they could be sure to sign me up cuz I would love to further explore the place. Since the gate was closed I wanted to respect the residence and avoid trespassing. Next door is a neat treat as well. If your ever in the area headed down Carlisle from 40 when the fork comes at Lomas take the road on the right across the intersection. It will be in that neighborhood. Such a landmark of its own!

Super cool to take a look at this private family residence for a couple of minutes. Actually more impressive in person.

He was knowledgeable, he took the time to understand our group interests and dynamics, and he came up with a jam-packed, information-rich tour that everyone LOVED, led by four guides that everyone had nothing but glowing reviews for. I couldn't have been happier with Peter, his guides, or the tours they led us on. We all left with a deeper, richer understanding of and appreciation for Santa Fe. Highly recommend.

Our tour was interesting, funny, and interactive. Peter was excellent at managing our large and lively group, and balanced education with entertainment like the pro he is. I was particularly appreciative of the context he provided to us of the historical facts so that we could truly begin to understand Santa Fe's past and present. As a Bostonian, I was ready to fight when he started talking about oldest this and oldest that, and I left his tour far more aware of the huge blind spots my northeastern education left me with, although he started to help me fill them. Friends who were with other tour guides from the company similarly raved about their experience.

This is a gorgeous state, man." I smiled. Preaching my personal gospel. Indeed, there's so much to discover around here, yet somehow the entire state remains somewhat undiscovered. And for most of us residents, that's exactly the way we want it to remain. Our own little secret. Short shrift is cool. But ultimately that's obviously not what we're going for around here, and this company, Food Tour New Mexico, is here to help expose the goods. This tour company focusses on the food (yeah, and drink) that make the state great. They've been operating in Santa Fe for years and recently they've expanded to Albuquerque. They're not taking you on a tour of a White Sands dune, but they're all about educating newbies on New Mexican cuisine, which is worthy of an afternoon of your time. Even locals can learn a little about their native eats; one of my favorite aspects of the tour was the cup of posole and the guided description of the composition of the soup, both Native and Mexican, that completes the recipe. Anticipate an exceptionally enjoyable visit in Old Town, with some huge surprises, and a tour that goes beyond food. Great company.

Nick accommodated our sizable group with ease. He graciously guided us through old town, from restaurant to restaurant. It was evident he had a great working relationship with each of the restaurants that welcomed us. We not only tasted yummy local fare at each location, we learned of its history, as well. Each locale had interesting stories; additionally, the architecture should be noted as the structures are specific to this area. Nick provided more local historical facts as we made our way walking through old town. Food Tours New Mexico is a unique way to see Albuquerque. It's great for foodies wanting to learn about local cooking or anyone curious about the area's history. This activity would be great for a fun date night. Or if you are a food lover or enjoy history, you should give this tour a try. I highly recommend.
