Bucket list check! Wow what a great experience. If you're scared of heights don't fear as it is so smooth and stable. We get to fly with pilot Murray. He has been flying balloons since he was 18 and he is now ??. We truly enjoyed our first flight and will definitely do it again. Unfortunately, my experience with this adventure was not good, thanks to the pilot Tamie. I would first like to say I was amazed at how hard the team worked. Watching them get ready to take off and the landing was great to see. I was there with my two grandsons with autism, and we were all three excited for our trip. Once off the ground, Tamie and the other two passengers in the basket talked about where they were from and Tamie stated how she loved that area. Then she asked where I was from. I replied Georgia and she then informed me she hated Georgia. That it is the most racist state. I am not a racist and know many people for my state who are not. I was just glad my oldest grandchild was wearing his earphones. If you have a child with Autism, you know how triggers work. In the air with him, hearing the comment could have been a disaster. The rest of the trip, anything I said or even where I looked seem to aggravate her. I then decided to just keep quite, and I tried to enjoy the time I had left. I couldn't wait to land. I think had I been with a different pilot, I would have enjoyed myself. I would not recommend World Balloon, especially if you're from Georgia. I have met many people in New Mexico that were very nice. So, I know, it's not the entire state. read more

8/8/2025 flight This was our first hot air balloon flight and both my wife and I were impressed with the instructions we received prior to lift off. We got to see the equipment being unloaded and the balloon being inflated. Very organized crew. Flight was about 66 minutes and we traveled a little under 10 miles. We just got back from a balloon ride with World Balloon and I can say that they are a top notch group. We are at the Balloon Festival and wanted to go up in one. These guys made that happen. It was a great experience. They are very organized and professional. I was surprised to see how many people it takes to run. Each ballon had a ground crew of five of six people who were involved with unloading and preparing the gondola, unpacking and inflating the balloon, loading fuel, assisting with boarding and unboarding, launching and landing, refueling, etc... in addition there were people who schedule, take payments, etc. there are vans that pick you up from the landing site, bring in folks for the next hop, and back at the start they have mimosa's and snacks ready for you when you return. Bottom line, that helps explain the cost of the experience. We were able to see a hundred or more balloons from he Festival while in the air. It was a smooth flight. We traveled multiple miles, but came back to a spot that was close to the launch site, landing in a grass field in a park. There were ten passengers onboard, so it is a bit tight, but not bad. The pilot explained everything as we went along... views were fantastic, the flight was quite peaceful... the landing was soft... Definitely something that should be on your bucket list. read more

Loved this experience with World Balloon! A balloon ride was always on the bucket list and to be able to do it with World Balloon and their awesome crew made it a fun, seamless and memorable event. We learned some interesting facts about Albuquerque and the history of ballooning. Our captain Randy was skilled and made me feel safe despite feeling a wee bit anxious once we started ascending. Murray was an awesome co-pilot also making us all feel reassured with the experience between the two of them. He was also very welcoming, friendly and provided so much knowledge during the whole experience. Can't say enough about the crew who worked hard to get us up and back down safely. We booked the night before as they had some spots left for our adventure. Leslie was so funny and delightful. We told her we were just married and on our honeymoon. We had picked which leg we would take and it turned out that we were with other newlyweds and a couple celebrating their 50th. There was also a proposal inside the balloon. They really took care of making sure we were safe. The landing was fun! He was very helpful, answered all of our questions, and was very nice! We had Mike Heffron aka "Hef" as our pilot. He made the experience awesome! Over 10 years ago I made a decision that I wanted to try a hot air balloon. The opportunity never presented itself. I just so happen to come to NM for a church event and the Hatch Chili Festival. When I went to retrieve my luggage I saw the flyer for World Balloon and knew it my was my moment of opportunity. I called when I arrived at the Hotel and spoke with Leslie, she was super kind, even offered dinning suggestions in Albuquerque. Fast forward to Labor Day (ironically they were open). I had a Balloon ride of my life time! Our pilot Murray was the best, funny and told a great story at the end.
