Everyone is always so nice, and I find it invigorating to know that there are so many people who are turning their dreams into realities here. I've tried working from home in the past, but there's just no reason to when there's a supportive environment so close to me. Bottom Line: It's hard not to feel motivated when surrounded by other hard-working people, and to that end having a place like DesignSpaces to work out of pays for itself.

Pre-COVID, I would avoid a one-hour long commute to work on occasion as my employer partnered with Star Space as a remote working location for their employees. There are numerous working environments (some formal, some informal, and also includes an outdoor patio that has WiFi connectivity) that are all set up with external monitors and peripherals. The printing is fast and there are conference rooms that can be reserved in advance for a small fee. There are sometimes community events meant to bring together those using the co-working space to get to know each other and exchange ideas. Post-COVID, they have aligned with proper precautions for the county and I feel completely safe working from there. There is a key fob that you can use during and after-hours, truly making this workplace accessible 24/7. Their kitchen is also fantastic. It is usually stocked with many single-serve type items (think cheese, hummus, pickle pouches, fruits, trail-mix type snacks, and beverages galore). Microwave, kitchen, and non-stop coffee. (There is oddly a premium coffee machine up front that I have NEVER seen been used as they charge a fee. This seems like it is a waste and should just be made available for users to make their own coffee.). Lunch is usually via a group DoorDash, but I find it easier and cheaper to often order separately and have it delivered to the the front door. All-in-all, Star Space is a wonderful co-working space that allows me to work outside the distracting environment in my own home, but not having to commute to my regular workplace or to another distracting environment like the library or coffee shops. They have great receptionist too. Highly recommend!

I am so happy I checked out the place. I stop by once a week when I'm having a flex day. I try not to tell too many people about how awesome Satellite is, because I know it'll get too much interest, but they've impressed me and truly deserve a great review here! Here are some of my thoughts in bullet format: * They'll accept your mail + packages and deliver to you, depending on plan. * Super friendly, kind, personable and jovial staff. Aly and Anne are the bee's knees! * 20% off education discount * Different plans according to your needs or budget. You can get a private office, a dedicated desk, a cafe membership (this means you find an open spot), or just join for the day. You can also get a la carte services, ie rolling filing cabinet, book conference rooms, etc. * Decent kitchen area with free Starbucks brand coffee. Plates, utensils, glasses, napkins etc. They have two large fridges and a microwave. * Clean! This is not your average dingy coworking space with half-empty coffee cups everywhere. An OCD'ers dream! Their cleaning crew is fantastic and keeps the place looking great. * Relatively quiet; great for concentration & hours of focus. The decibels never get to an obnoxious level. * Community & holiday events, mainly centered around food :) * Dozens of great restaurants, just downstairs on the main Murphy Ave strip. * Great coworkers including designers, developers, startup teams, founders, authors, creative directors and nice people of all stripes. Just a great place to network and learn from others. All in all, a great environment for remote workers, consultants, and anyone who is feeling boxed-in in their home. As a longtime Yelp Elite, I highly recommend Satellite! Come check them out any weekday from 9a-5p.

READ THIS BEFORE SIGNING WITH BOOTUP…read more I was a tenant for more than a year and saw everything: the good, the bad and the ugly. THE GOOD - Located very close to University Ave, Palo Alto - Nice outdoor patio area THE BAD - Things break down a lot (water dispenser, bathroom sinks, door handles, furniture, lighting, etc.) - You really need to nag management to get them to fix things (they still haven't fixed the outdoor power outlets) - Wireless printing works about 20% of the time, I consistently have seen people having issues printing - Large events are frequently held and attendees tend to be very loud/disruptive as they walk through the building to the event studio - Refrigerators are always full, usually with forgotten food that gets moldy - The Game Room photo shown on their yelp page is no longer available - iPads outside conference rooms have been dead for more than 1 year and haven't been fixed - Kitchen area never has enough forks, spoons, drinking glasses, etc. - Food from The Nest (ajoining cafe) is catered and pricey as it's only served buffet style - Badge reader on the rear of the building takes two scans to open THE UGLY - The internet connection isn't reliable, I lost count the number of times it has gone down (both wired and wireless), and how many times they asked us to change wi-fi networks - Heating and cooling system always breaks down - I have seen countless HVAC repair technicians come by, but it's usually too hot or freezing in the offices - Several conference rooms are no longer available to use (some of which are still shown in their yelp photos) - A big startup came in and management kicked everyone out of a large co-working space and moved desks into hallways (right outside our office) for the people who had to be relocated - Meeting rooms are hard to book due to the large number of tenants and removal of several conference rooms I can't speak to their ability as an Incubator/Accelerator as we only rented office space.
