I've been to Boise before~ I loved it then and found myself loving it still. This place added on to that as it's an underground bar with a bunch of arcade games. It's not that big but there are a lot of old school games packed in. Bring cash! You'll need to exchange it for tokens. Price is fair with most games only costing one token (25¢). Everybody looked like they were having fun here and the bartenders were cool and willing to exchange your cash for smaller bills.

SpaceBar Arcade is a retro gaming paradise! The friendly staff, incredible selection of retro games, and amazing pinball lineup make it a must-visit spot. The neon lighting adds to the ambiance. Five stars for an unforgettable gaming experience!

Had so much fun at this retro bar for a 50th birthday party! We really enjoyed playing all the arcade games from our teenage years and the service was great.

This place has a great vibe, drinks are fairly priced and overall the games are pretty fun. The selection for arcade cabinets is pretty minimal but everything else is great. We were able to win the Spacebar Beanie but not the dildo sadly. We were also told this was the best priced magic cards in all of Boise

I kind of love this spot. Great selection of pinball games. Free to play consoles. Reasonable drink prices. Hilarious claw machine (3 wins in 3 days). Definitely on my go to spots when I visit.

This is such a fun spot! They have several pinball machines, arcade games, game consoles/games, and board games to choose from. A dj was playing great music, and trivia was going on when we arrived. The place was packed, but not too overwhelming. The drink menu consists of beer and cider, wine, and a couple cocktails. This an excellent spot for groups, friends, and couples.

Ask the Community - Spacebar Arcade

Does this arcade have a quarter pusher?

They operate on a token system. They have a "change" machine though, so take singles!!

    Is it wheelchair accessible?

Is this only 21+, or can 18+ come in too?

    Their website says 21+ only.

Can we bring our own board games?

They are really chill here, I think you'd be fine brining your own.

We had a great server, can't recall his name at the moment, but he was friendly and attentive. My sister got the chicken sandwich and I got the chicken strips and despite all the negative reviews we were impressed with how good the food was; I even liked the coleslaw and I never like coleslaw! We will DEFINITELY be back as we would like to try their happy hour next time (4pm-7pm or 9pm to close)! I will say that I do have a game request...Plinko!!

Matter of fact, my friend has a D&B gold card that they don't even make any more. He has a gazillion points on it and he is adept at playing a lot of the midway aka fair games. His daughter is just as adept so imagine my surprise when I blew through my $25.00 card in about 10 mins and each of them had won a combined 50,000 tickets. What was cooler than cool was that my friend asked my daughter, which stuffed animal she wanted and she pointed to a pig with a green hoodie. The employee was so kind to get out the ladder and grab the pig with the green hoodie. My friend handled the employee the gold card and I don't think she had ever seen anything like it She swiped it and basically said, " Ya. You're good". I laughed so hard. I ended up asking her if she had ever seen a point total that high, and she had not. It was a cool experience for everyone. In the end, I am not that savy in playing these games and the carpet does smell like old socks but I can see where it can be fun once and awhile.

Big Al's is a fun, all-in-one spot--bowling, arcade, bar, sports bar/restaurant, and event rooms…read more Definitely gives Main Event vibes (if you're from the Midwest/southern states). It's a great atmosphere to watch a big game, and the overall look and feel is pretty on par for Idaho. The food is just okay, nothing super special, but the service is pretty great for such a large, busy place. On top of that, its location is within the Village, so you're in walking distance to many more other shops as well.

I had a very confusing and frustrating experience at Big Al's. My friend and I wanted to play…read moredarts, so we asked an employee named Kimberlee about it. At first, she told us that both players had to be at least 18 years old. We told her that wasn't a problem because we both were. She then said we both had to be drinking alcohol in order to play, which didn't make sense since that would require being 21 or older. When I questioned that, she changed her explanation and said we had to pay $8.50. I said that was fine, but then she told us they only accepted cash, even though I had seen other customers paying with cards elsewhere in the building. We walked away, and about 20 minutes later we noticed a group of three boys who appeared to be under 18 playing darts without any alcoholic drinks. We politely asked Kimberlee how they were able to play if the rules she gave us were true. Her response was simply that she "didn't care anymore." The rules seemed to change every time we had an answer for them, and then they apparently didn't apply to other customers. Whether it was poor communication or inconsistent enforcement, the experience left us feeling singled out and unwelcome. I hope management addresses this so future customers receive clear and consistent information.
