In November 2019 my fiancé and I hired Hemibry Catering to cater our wedding that is currently…read morescheduled for October 2020. We chose this company because they were on the list of catering companies that work with the venue that will be hosting our wedding. Our initial experience with Hernan, the owner, was good. He allowed us to put down a little less than the required 50% deposit that is due in order for us to lock in the date for Hemibry to cater our wedding. We appreciated his flexibility at that time. Less than three months later, by choice, we fulfilled the full contract amount that would have been due three days before our wedding. Fast forward to March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down just about everything including the venue that will be hosting our wedding, we became increasingly concerned about all of our wedding plans. I reached out to Hemibry Catering to express our concerns and asked if we would be able to obtain a full refund in the event that our wedding must be cancelled which would be out of our control. A person named Stephanie advised me that we would not be able to get the deposit back and that they would be willing to reschedule dates with no penalty or if we do not have a wedding at all she stated that the funds can be used towards another event such as a BBQ, birthday etc. Unfortunately we do not intend on having another event that would call for almost $6,000 in catering so that option would definitely not work for us. Also, it is extremely important to us that we keep the same wedding date if the government guidelines allow us to have a much smaller gathering because changing the date is not an option we're looking to explore. Although we understand that per our contract the deposit would be kept, we were hopeful of receiving a full refund if we do not have a wedding at all because thankfully the venue that will host our wedding along with other companies we already hired are being extremely flexible in working with us with making adjustments even if it goes against what's in our contracts because they understand that the situation with the pandemic is totally out of our control. A couple of days ago I reached out to Hernan, the owner, asking if he would be willing to adjust the contract and lower the amount of guests from 60 people to a much lower number, possibly 30, in the event that we would not be able to have the number of guests we originally planned for due to the government guidelines that continue to change. When I advised Hernan that we already paid the full amount that was due, he stated "I'm not able to refund any money...." He went along with further explaining that all the money they use is for operations, which left us feeling as if he possibly spent the full amount that we've already paid. I found it odd that he like Stephanie, offered the option to move the date, but failed to remind us that we still have the option of cancelling completely and be refunded the amount outside of the deposit that we're entitled to, per our contract. I explained to him that I feel that it is not good business practice to still charge us for 60 people if we can only have 30. He stated that they are being flexible by moving dates. Again, not reminding us of the option to cancel completely and be refunded a portion of the funds, per our contract. I advised him that I really need him to work with us in making some kind of adjustment and also expressed to him that I understand the difficulties that businesses are currently experiencing, however, he should also be more flexible with us because morally it's the right thing to do. The call ended with him telling me that he does not have an answer at the moment but he is trying to make things fair for everyone and will get back to me. The conversation left us feeling a lack of confidence in how he conducts business with his clients during a crisis but I still am slightly hopeful that he allows us to change the number of guests he will cater for to a much lower number and refund us a portion of our money. This is a reminder to people to pay very close attention to how a company treats their customers when unforeseen events occur. As I stated, other companies we're under contract with are much more flexible and understanding when it comes to adjustments and refunds, regardless of what's stated in our contract. Unfortunately at the moment, Hemibry catering is not one of those companies. I hope that my next update will be much better than this one. Until then, I will wait to hear back from Hernan at Hemibry catering.

Helena had great food suggestions and were pleased with all of her recommendations. We were unsure we would meet the amount of seat requirements for reserving the ballroom, but Helena worked with us and we ended up having around 119 guests with 14 tables. Our package included cocktail hour (food, space, setup, & open bar),cake, DJ, reception flowers, catering, location, linens, 3 hours open bar, wine for table, champaign toast, setup, and breakdown. The linen selection was also nice with some satin and spandex options. We used gold as out color. The vendors they included in the package are well rated in their own right and were very easy to work with in tandem with the Officers' Club. We selected Alexandria Pastry Shop for the cake, Wilson Florist of Rosslyn for the flowers, and JK Music for the DJ. The day of the staff was extremely helpful and the reception went smoothly. I wish they would have steamed the linens. The food was excellent, we wish we could have tried more of our cocktail hour food but we were so busy chatting with all our guests. The only thing you will really have to do or designate friends/family to do at this location is set-up your "details" like table numbers, escort cards, table decorations, etc.

This is the most unprofessional scam. I would be hard pressed to believe that this is a real…read morecompany. If it is, they are the most dishonest and unethical company I've ever come across. I would give them zero stars if I could. The margarita machine was broken, and I had to text and call several times to have someone return and fix the machine. He left before I'd run back (none of the alcohol was salvageable), but we followed his directions to a tee, including using hot water to ensure everything mixed prior to freezing. Shocker - the machine still didn't work. The next day, I waited all day for someone to pick the machine up. By 9 pm, after multiple texts, emails, phone calls (the 1709 number goes to voicemail every time by the way), I never got through to an employee or anyone at the company. I finally received an email response a full date late from their generic email saying the machine would be picked up today and asking for screenshots of the abusive texts, which I sent. I mentioned that we would need a refund, which no one has addressed. They should also refund us for the two rounds of alcohol we had to go out and buy (a handle of vodka and 10 bottles of rose), but I have low expectations from this dishonest group. I will report this company to the FTC. This is clearly not a legitimate business and it's impossible to reach anyone (half their emails kick back). They go by various names on various websites on social media so it's harder to leave a review and hold them accountable. You can't even leave comments on their facebook page, so it's clear they've had other unhappy customers. Do yourself a favor and find someone else to provide your party fun. UPDATE: The owner called and told me that I had texted the wrong number, despite the fact that I'd used the number he'd provided in the email. Even if the owner had provided the wrong number (which I doubt), the review stands. See the screenshots of my efforts trying to get a hold of anyone at the company. He did agree to provide a refund for the defective machine ONLY in 24 hours - I will update the review accordingly then. UPDATE 2: edited to remove the notes about the inappropriate employee. The owner had indeed provided the wrong number initially (I called the right number and the poor employee hadn't had any context). It unfortunately doesn't change the fact that the owner tried to convince me that this was somehow my fault, and that the company's main line and the other number never picked up. Really a bummer experience. UPDATE 3: We did receive our refund for the broken product. We did not receive a refund for the money wasted on alcohol (~$100).

I came across First Class Luxury Transportation Inc, and to be honest, I was a little skeptical. They had no reviews on Yelp and no social media presence, two things I usually look for. However, it turned out to be legit, and it was the best experience ever. Customer Service: 10/10!! I reached John Smith at dispatch center who was the Team Lead. He was kind, and patient, and took the time to go over all the vehicles they had for my party size. He was communicative, through text and phone and didn't miss a beat. He texted us ACCURATE pictures of the vehicles he had available and we were able to make a decision. On the day of the graduation, we were assigned Mustafa as our driver. He was prompt, helpful (we had 1 wheelchair), and took the time to explain the upcoming ride, plus the features of the sprinter van. Super friendly!!! Smooth driving and got us there and back with no issues! The van itself got sooo many compliments. Chic on the outside, luxury on the inside. It definitely had the party bus feel, but more upscale. Bluetooth hookup for music, lights, snacks, and super clean. Leather seats with table access, cup holders, and complimentary water & snacks. This van totally exceeded our expectations!
