Deep tissue massage is not supposed to be this good in the Twin Cities because I always get utterly disappointed with the massage claimed deep tissue here, but it always ended up underwhelming. I can't believe I actually found a place that truly knows how to give a good massage. The last time I had a really good massage was in Thailand and this reminds me of that experience. This is my second time returning to see Linda and I just made my third to go in a month. I am definitely addicted to the pain and the pressure points that Linda puts on me each time. She goes all out using her elbows, arms and partial body weight. Her massage was fully committed and I loved it. The tense pressure on my shoulder feels so much better now, allowing me to work and be productive in an office setting. This spa place is not fancy, but it is clean. I also love that they use unscented coconut oil to massage my body, leaving a beautiful glow and a layer of moisturizer on my skin. He does not do a "cookie cutter" massage; while he went over all areas, he tailored my massage to areas that needed extra attention. And he checked in a few times regarding the pressure he was applying and it was always in par for me (but trust me he can 'turn it up' when required.) All in all a great 90 minute massage and I left feeling relaxed, but yet energized as well. It was also my first time trying this particular type of well was treatment so I I have nothing to compare it to. I booked a 90minute float therapy session Good: Made a last minute appointment and was able to get in so I loved that. The front desk staff was nice when welcoming me. They also have a vending machine that sells THC beverages which was nice. They encouraged me to use the bathroom which was very clean and well stocked. Then essentially explained what to expect while in the room and pretty much left me alone. That was nice. The not so good: An even better experience would have been to offer robes before going into the float room or something to get guest more relaxed before going into the tank. Or maybe a glass of cold water. I understand wanting to control water intake but it gets pretty warm in the room and you get thirsty! There was no soap available and you are required to shower before getting into the tub. I didn't realize what was in the shower was shampoo and conditioner because they weren't labeled. They give you a thing to support your head while floating but I think providing goggles or some sort of eye protection would have been epic. Maybe someone more seasoned would have know to bring something but it was my first time. So of course I got salt in my eyes. Very uncomfortable. There was also no sort of lotion for after the session I did ask about it and was told they had a shipment delayed and so they didn't have any of the things you'd expect to be standard at a spa. While I understand. It would have been a good idea to include a care note or something to give a head up. That was disappointing In summary. I didn't have a bad time or a great time. It was just okay. The float therapy itself was good but I think the business missed the mark on the pre and post care for me.

I had never taken care of my skin consistently, but I know if I don't want a face lift in 20 years I have to get on it now. I've had three facials over the course of about eight weeks and it's *insane* how good my skin looks. When I came in, I had a ton of little-used product at home. Lisa sat down with me and sorted through what I had, talked to me about what to use when, why, and encouraged me to finish using the product I had paid for before switching to SkinCeuticals if that's what I wanted to do (she said it was fine if I wanted to keep using the over the counter stuff, too). I started her recommended regimen and gradually added a few new products after using up the things I already had. Last week, even my husband commented he noticed an improvement in my skin's appearance. Not only does Lisa provide skilled, professional service, but she's a genuine, warm, and sweet person. She's always professional, but I feel like I'm going to see a friend. She takes the time to thoroughly answer all my questions and educate me on what's happening to my skin, why it's happening, what I can do about it, and what to expect. Bonus? During every facial, Lisa rubs my feet, arms, and hands as part of the service while waiting for some of the masks and whatnot that need time to work. With how good my skin looks, I'd think she was great even without it. But having it be a part of the facial makes me love seeing her even more.
