Dr.Theodore Piliszek who runs this Spa Nova office, also has worked as Emergency/Family doctor in the past. It was a busy day, and I had a very little time for myself with loads of work piled up at office. But as my physical was due for long, with limited time availability, I happened to visit his office for physical checkup with this doctor (first time) as I heard a lot about him. He took blood samples, and kind of started asking questions about my skin pigmentation. He introduced his products, and also asked me to fill out some world heath form, with which he can offer me some free services. In confused state, I kind of filled out the form, but before I gave the form back to him, I told him that I am here only for my physicals, and didn't expect any skin consultation. This doctor insisted me to fill and return the form, and started going over my history. Asked questions about my brothers, parents and any skin pigmentation they had. Frustrated with whats going on, still politely asked, I am getting late, and would like to continue this conversation later. Finally he agreed to let me go. When I was about to leave, front desk put a bill in front of me. I gave my insurance card, but they said, they DO NOT ACCEPT insurance cards. What on earth.. huh.. I am getting late, so I took out my card to pay the bill, and was about to faint after I saw the total, it was $450.00. Where in America would cost $450 for a physical???
I checked with doctor to understand why he charged $450.00 for physical/blood checkup? But he said, he is charging skin consultation. I was like.. what the ????. I didn't even ask him to do a skin consultation, and I didn't even take the appointment for it. So why would I be paying for skin consultation.
So manipulative, unethical, and unprofessional. Avoid it. read more
