My family and I have used Spa for Paws for many years, but moving forward, we will not be returning. my decision is based on the treatment i received from the owner and the way my dogs returned after their last stay. my poor pups had a nasty cough for days after pick up. (staff was informed) leads me to belive cleanliness is not a true priority. I booked for 9 days recently and had to cancel due to being hospitalized. I reached out 48hrs prior to my stay (being the time I was admitted) and was denied a refund of my deposit. i'm extremely disappointed and well seek boarding elsewhere. Never again will we leave our boys here. The first time we left them a couple of years ago, our oldest came home with a red lump on his stomach. We looked over that and gave them the benefit of a doubt. This time they both came home looking like they had been abused. Raw and red places on their cheeks and lips as if the employees put some type of muzzle on them or something abrasive. The bruises did not come from them playing together since they wrestle and play together constantly at home and have never bruised each other. We picked them back up on the 30th and they both now have kennel cough, which means that the surgery that our oldest was to have Monday, and has been waiting two months for, will have to be pushed off for maybe another couple of months if they have a spot open. When we took them there, we tried to leave our own food and water bowls and toys for them to use and were told that we could not because the kennel has their own (not sure how sanitized they are since many, many other dogs have used them). My wife asked if she would be able to call to check on them and was told "I don't know because we will be really busy". That's not very good customer service. She tried calling later that afternoon 6 times, the first time someone picked up the phone and hung it right up, the next 5 times she did not get an answer. Now my wife is afraid to leave them with any kennel period. I do not recommend this kennel unless you just have nowhere else to take your pets. read more

I have left my dogs there more than 4 times. The first 2 times was fine. The last 2 times was very disappointing. The 2nd to the last time my dog came home with a sore and they didn't tell me when I called to ask about it the owner was rude to me. When I dropped them off one dog pooped and she told me to go outside and get a bag to pick it up. When asked about incident she didn't know and said she would ask the groomers. They then said they cut him but didn't inform her. This last time I took them my dogs all came back with bumps. I took them to the vet and was told it was flea bites. I told the guy at spa for paws and he said he would rely the message to the owner. She never called she just wrote me an email back after I sent the pictures. She was rude and said " It took you 4 days to see anything on a short haired dogs body, with the dog in your home, so maybe there was nothing there for us to see. We wish you better luck at your next facility. " she would have know if she had called back that we had covid and strep when we came back and it took time for me to take them to the vet to see what the spots were. I did gibe them the flea and tick preventative but the vet told me it was fleas due to the plbumps and the hair loss. They charged me for grooming before coming home and probably gave her a flea bath. Because she was losing hair had these sores all over and was very skinny. I will never again leave the dogs there. The other dogs had only 2 sores and one had a bite mark on his ear. I am not upset at the fleas as much as I am upset to be lied to or that they didn't notice the bumps when grooming. Yes they are under the hair but there is no way you can groom dogs and not see the sores. I am just upset owner still lied and was rude about it. read more

I picked this place based on the reviews and I was NOT disappointed ! They took my 5 month old yorkie moose and did a fantastic job grooming him!! And he smells amazing. Moose did try to bite the groomer (so sorry!!) but the female who helped check me out gave me good tips on how to Help with that while grooming him. I brought Linus, my 8 y/o black lab mix, to them for a nail trim, low-shed treatment, and mini-groom in late May 2020. Between allergies, anxiety, and the warmer temperatures, he'd been shedding up a storm, plus his nails had gotten long enough that they were clicking on my hardwood floors and making him slip. I'd only had him for about eight weeks (he's a foster and a rescue with a history of neglect and abuse) and wasn't comfortable trimming or dremeling his nails myself, so I decided to call in professional help. I posted a review stating I would never use them again. The manager Julia K has emailed several times trying to place them blame on me. She just told me they did not put a leash on my pet since I didn't sign up for walks however they put a rope on her both times when she was taken to the back and to bring her to me. They do not want to admit fault. I am not sure if it is kennel cough as I am not a vet but both times she couldn't speak & she was not like she was when I took her in. I boarded my two dogs there. One of which had been there before. They returned smelling terribly, with high fevers, not eating, and dehydrated. I took my one dog who was in really bad shape to the vet and paid $350 in medical bills and medication. They had to administer IV fluids due to her state of dehydration, and she is now on 3 medications. The manager Jorge was very nice and listened to my concerns however, the owner Julia was more abrasive in her tone like she didn't want to deal with me. I am going to be receiving a refund for their stay ($170) because I feel like they were not taken care of and the standard of care was not up to par. Absolutely love this place! From the moment I first called to inquire about their doggy daycare they have been absolutely wonderful. Their staff is amazing & they go above & beyond. I am from out of town. Since I've been at the hospital the whole trip it's great to know my pup is being taken care of so I don't have to stress over where my pup is going to stay while I am at the hospital with family. I love this place. They have a giant runway for the furbabies compared to other facilities. The runway for boarding pets is 4ft by 20ft, huge compared to others. That's one of the great features this place provides in addition to the customer service. They also make sure your pet is cared for and safe by checking vaccine updates and calling clinics to verify. They made sure my dogs vaccines were updated and all I can think about is that they do the same to other dogs to make sure mine safe. Great place. I drive 45mins to board my furbaby here as opposed to 5-10min convienent driving distance. read more

The customer service is really good. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. However, I would not recommend this place if your dog is shy. My puppy is very shy towards strangers and other dogs. The closure where he was put in is next to many other bigger and louder dogs. He was very afraid and is still a little traumatized even after we brought he home. Also, when I went to pick him there were uncleaned feces in the enclosure. He is now hiding under the couch to sleep, which he doesn't usually do before his stay at Spa for Paws. Horrible! Boarded our puppy for a few days last year. First off horrible customer service. They didn't listen to anything I was telling them about my pup. I paid extra for the doggie daycare so my puppy could play with the other dogs (he loves to play with other dogs). When we came to pick him up, my puppy was traumatized! He would freak out anytime we would put him in the car. He freaked out when we took him to his puppy training classes. He started barking and growling at his friends in class. This happened for weeks until he was finally back to normal. I would never take my puppy (now dog) back there again. New to the state we received a recommendation for this place from our boarding facility, Howl -A- Day Inn. They were right on the money! We went here for grooming of our 9-month golden retriever and they did a fantastic job. Very friendly and homey environment. Our Stella always comes out looking and feeling great, and the pricing is consistent with most places we have previously taken her in other states. They offer different types of washes, mini and full, and they offer add-on services as well (my favorite is the teeth brushing!). They also do daycare here, and I have heard great things from talking to customers I have met at the dog park. Overall great experience and we will be here on a monthly basis! read more

I called this place talked to the owner explained my puppy would be short one vaccine as it wasn't time for those shots. She told me that would be fine Called me a at the last minute and told me I had to have the shots. They jeopardized an extremely impotence business trip. I told them I would get the shots today. They told me they didn't like my attitude. The employee I spoke to wouldn't let me speak with the owner. They should have understood the position they put me in. The owner was there and wouldn't talk with me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL I have gotten his shots as of now found another facility that has just as stringent requirements as you but they at least listened and understand. I told your employer that I was getting his shots. They are now done this would not have upset me had you called on Friday this would not have been an issue. You have no idea how this can affect people. And not talking with me was extremely unprofessional what if I had a flight and couldn't have made it because of this issue. And I do remember the conversation we had I told you specifically that he would not have his last series until the 15th. You never said a word I would have remembered as this trip was extremely important. I would suggest that you look at your reservations a week in advance so you don't put someone else in this position. A good owner will always talk with their client. Took my pups to the Spa for the week after Christmas. One of the pups has back problems and they took great care of them. When they didn't eat on the 2nd day, they called and ask if they could give them canned food. I said yes. They ate and then they weaned them back to their dry food. Great place! Friendly people working there and my dog loved two days of doggie day care. I was in town visiting for a few days and needed a place to take my 45 pound sharpei during the day. I showed up at Spa for Paw's on Monday morning and, though they were really busy, they took time to collect all my information and then accepted the dog for the day and were so nice about it.
