My dog is a 9 month old Goldendoodle. He is a very big dog. When I picked him up I was taken to the back to get him. Once I saw him he was curled up like a cat because he couldn't stand straight nor sit. The kennel was way too small. I also noticed his hair was going in his eyes. I didn't want to take him back. So I just try to move the hair out of his eyes. After looking closely I noticed most of his eye lashes are gone. He had super long lashes like a stuffed animal now he only has a few. Visiting out of town and needed a bath for my (blind, extra care needed) beagle mix. We'd been camping and out in the elements and a good brush and wash was in order. They were able to accommodate us on the weekend and did a wonderful job getting out any fur mats that may have been starting and all of the patches of white hair looked brilliant. As a mix breed, he has an undercoat and usually looks puffy after grooming, but this was not the case at Julian's! He looked put together and smooth at pickup. Had added on teeth brushing and could tell it was done well. In addition, he was happy at pickup and even still wanted to play with the staff when I arrived. Really pleased, nice job! read more

We called ahead and made an appointment for our 6 month old puppy for a grooming. Yesterday (2/10) was the appointment and we took our Chewie in. Chewie is our first dog so we didn't really know what style we should ask for. Our dog is a poodle mix and we've been told he could be mixed with Schnauzer. So we decided to go with a Schnauzer cut and my husband showed the picture of what we wanted to the employee. My husband said the employee was asking if he was sure on the cut since that was a Schnauzer cut, so now I'm not sure if we picked the correct style! We are still new to this all. My husband dropped him off and 2 hrs later we got the call to pick him up. My husband was told to go to the kennel directly to get him. He picked him up and brought him to the car and omg!!! He is soooo handsome! He smelled so so good and he had a cute bandana on. I love it! They missed one nail for the clipping but honestly that's not too big of a deal. I asked my husband to call and ask them to clip it as I'm sure they would be willing to correct it but he said no. Lol. We will be returning and I will update my review as needed. Overall it was a great experience and I feel it was a great price too! We spent about $36 for a bath, cut and nail trim. My Chewie came back to us super happy too! read more

Abrasions and cut to my dog. Please don't take your babies to Julian's. I understand she was matted but this is not ok. She's been matted worse than this and this has NEVER happened else where. Very disappointed in her treatment. I also had to cut matted hair off her ears. I regret tipping before seeing her. I'm just heart broken that she's hurt. She also smells like a dirty sponge or dish rag was used on her. Her hair cut overall is uneven and awful. I wish I took her else where. My poor baby. Update: way more matting was found around her face, under her chin and on her ears that they didn't bother touching. They didn't even touch up her face. We also found more abrasions on her. This has to be the absolute worst grooming job ever experienced. Also, for reference she's the sweetest baby and easy to groom, as I've been told by groomers in the last city we lived in. I've had my two dogs here maybe three times to get groomed. I normally take them to PetSmart, but when I'm in a pinch for an appointment, the location on Desert Blvd. same day accommodates. The issue I have is that the last time I went to pick up my dogs, they were frightened to exit the kennel. They both cowered in the back end and had to be drug out. I know my dogs. One we've had for 15 years and I have them groomed regularly. That is absolutely NOT normal behavior. While I can't point to anything specifically happening, my gut feeling is enough to know that as convenient as it may be, I can't take them back there. read more

My dog has bad separation anxiety. So bringing him in for a haircut, I knew he might get aggressive towards the groomers. I suggested they muzzle him during the haircut just in case. An hour & a half later, I get a call that my dog is ready for pick up. I drive over there & I am given a half shaved dog! Apparently he bit a groomer THROUGH the muzzle ??? Then I was charged full price for all the services they were GOING to do but didn't end up doing because he became aggressive. I then went in to speak with the groomer and apologize and you can tell she is angry. She goes on to say "I usually feel bad but..." which made me feel awful. You would expect that dog groomers deal with anxious/aggressive dogs pretty frequently and should know how to handle them. I usually take my dog to Petco where they're able to do what this groomer can't even without a muzzle. I don't recommend this place unless you have a very well-behaved dog. I also am not blaming this business for my dog's behavior. However, I am holding them accountable for how they handled the situation after the matter. read more

I see they deleted my review. I left my big Bernese Mountain Dog for 2 weeks there when I was out of town. I came back to an underweight and very aggressive dog. I was shocked at my dog's personality, I came back to a different dog. It took months to calm him down, but he has never been the same since then. There was more than enough of his personal food left. There were instructions to call my husband who was in town but worked long hours, if food was getting low. I would not recommend this place to anyone who loves their dogs. There is no where for the big dogs to play. The little dogs are able to play in the big main area, but I wouldn't be surprised if medium/large breeds are left in their crates all day. The rate is low for a reason, don't trust them to follow through for the add-one; special walks, more play time, etc. read more

I took my two Shar Pei. They did not clean their ears and they both came out wet with no bandanas. My younger dog got injured and came out crying and limping bleeding from his paw because his nail was completely ripped off with the nerve exposed, they had a towel down in his kennel and didn't try to stop the bleeding or attend to my dog or even call to let me know he got hurt. My other dog was not kenneled, (her being in heat and not kennelled with my other dog is NOT an excuse when I dropped her off she was in her own kennel) she was left standing with no slack on the leash to sit or move. They had 5 dogs in one kennel, the lady working the desk said they had 80 dogs and no room. I had another person with me to witness what was said and what happened. Regardless of cutting his nail short or him getting hurt from the kennel he was in pain and was not taken care of by staff who didn't even notice he was bleeding and limping, the vet said my dog would have been in excruciating pain as his nerve was exposed. I contacted and requested to be contacted by the owner and he messages me through Facebook and did not respond or even apologize for what happened to my dog he only got mad about my review. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. This owner likes to lie when he responds to people's reviews. Beware and do not use this establishment. I contacted the better business bureau and made a police report, as well and contacted my bank for a refund. They have no remorse for what happens to dogs while at their place of business and will not take responsibility for anything they do wrong. My male was not interested in my female at all. I never had to separate them at home and she never got pregnant so I know he never tried getting out of the kennel to get to her. This is the worst business I have ever used. He said my male showed no signs of being hurt. Please post the video when I was in the waiting area with him where he was screaming crying and limping, where I had to ask them to put quick stop. And after providing my bank with evidence of what happened my money was refunded and returned to me. read more

If you ever have to take your dog for any grooming needs this is the place to go to. Not only are the military friendly but they offer a different grooming special every single day! One of the better ones is the buy 1 get 1 50 off on Thursdays. This works super well when you are the equivalent of a cat lady and have multiple dogs to take. Your dogs each have their own profile and they take notes on your grooming preferences for them. Everything from my previous reviews stand, even with the recent change in ownership and front desk personnel. I am knocking them down a star for the recent price hike. It is now $52 to get a medium sized dog groomed, when it used to be $36-$40. A $12-$16 price jump is pretty significant. (It averages around 40% percent.) When I went previously, nail trimming was included in the price, doesn't appear to be that way now. The only other explanation is my 35 lb dog is considered a large dog. Even with the price increase, Julian's did a fantastic job on a summer cut for my pup. I took her in on a Sunday afternoon at 12:30 and despite only having two groomers, she was done by 2:30. Quick and easy. If you don't mind paying a pretty penny for your pretty pup, then give Julian's a call. read more

We adopted a Yorkie and our dog needs a weekly bath and bi-monthly haircut. Our grooming package consists of a bath, anal glands, nails trimmed, and teeth brushed. It costs around $24, which I found a little steep. So, I recently cut back the weekly grooming and now he just goes for his bi-monthly shampoo/condition, haircut, anal glands, nail trimming, style, and bandanna for around $25-28 (including tip). I now do his weekly teeth and baths at home, which saves money. Julian's has been our family groomer since i was 3-5 years old and the service is still great. It's clean, they are flexible with pickup times, and run weekly specials. Verdict: Can get pricey, but they have highly professional pet services. Totally worth a visit. read more

Small nice place. People are pleasant and did a great job cleaning up my two bull dogs. The dogs smelt clean for about a week afterwards and they didn't shed either. This is a good thing. We have been taking our dog to Julian's for over a year. Once we got on the same page with the groomer on how to cut our 13-year old pooch, we have been very pleased. We learned to always schedule an appointment with Elia. She does an excellent job, especially in trimming the fur on our dog's face. In fact, last week we took him to the veterinarian for an eye problem he has. The Vet made the comment that "your groomer is doing an excellent job trimming around the eyes". Sometimes we go too long without getting our dog groomed because I forget to go in and schedule an appointment. (we had a mishap one time when I scheduled an appointment over the phone). Julian's has made it easier for us as you can now see your groomer's schedule on line and also book an appointment. We will also be going to Julian's more often for grooming as we can accurately book appointments a week or two in advance. We also are able to get the day and time we want to take our dog for his trim. Besides being a very good groomer, Elia seems to actually care about treating your pet well. For our dog who is blind in one eye and in the twilight of his life, that is very important to us. read more

Called this morning to inquire about boarding and the man who answered was so pleasant, he told me to bring in my pup asap to see how she interacts with other dogs. I went in a couple hours later and the front desk man was the most unpleasant person ever.. he's energy was super low, and made us feel like we were bothering or waisting his time. He kept asking if we had an appointment and we told him we just went in to inquire and to see the space. I definitely didnt feel welcomed due to his lack of customer service skills and because of that, I would not leave my pup there. I took my dog here for the first time and when I went to pick him up after his "full service grooming" he looked great but his nails had not been trimmed so I went back to get them to trim them. The receptionist let me go back to the area where the dogs are serviced and Laura, the lady who groomed my dog, tried to work with me. She asked me to hold him down while she proceeded to attempt to trim his nails. This was too rough for me so I had her stop and decided to leave and take him somewhere else to get his nails trimmed. After leaving I was a bit unhappy about this and I promptly received a call from the owner Julian who asked for feedback on the service and even offered to let me watch a video of the full service. The smallest got her face trimmed and that was it. The sanitary area wasn't even cut or cleaned on either dog. The pads of their feet weren't trimmed. I'm honestly not sure what they did other than give them a bath. Even after taking them back they still looked identical to when I dropped them off. Asked for a trim because my aussies hair was out of control and my dog came back with literally just his feet visibly trimmed. Like wth? You couldn't trim his ears or anything else because it's a "light trim" but you want to charge me 50 dollars? Your staff didn't even ask me for his shots upfront that's how I KNOW it's unsanitary. I'm going back tomorrow for a redo at a different location. Not impressed for my first time. I have taken my dogs to Julian's many times and have been very happy with the service, but this last time I was very disappointed. I picked up my dog and they hadn't given her a bath just put baby powder on her but only after they shaved her hair down so close that she had trimmer burns on her side. If I could zero stars I would. Went in for a full grooming for my two medium sized dogs. Dropped them off around 9:30am and didn't get a call to pick them up until 5 hours later. After all that it looks like they gave them a bath and tied a bandana on their neck. No nail clipping. No noticeable brushing as I could still easily grab globs of hair off them both just as I could before I took them. I can tell they didn't give them a trim because their docked tails still had long hair on the end and weren't rounded off. Complete rip off. Go somewhere, anywhere, else. read more

We live in horizon city and travel all the way to Julian's because of the amazing owner and staff. I have never been contacted personally by an owner to see about customer service!! Cesar and the staff amaze me each time we go and the value we experience is unbeatable. Julian's has serviced 2 out of our 3 fur kids and have never once complained about our Husky Lycan and his separation anxiety, as a matter of a fact they have made special accommodations, like making an appointment early so he is first in and out to help the situation!!! read more

I brought my dog in and made an appointment because she has a nervous condition and cannot be kenneled for very long. they promised me it would be no more than two hours ,I came back two hours later and they had done no more than to give her a light bath and she wasn't even very clean. Took Wilford our 6 month old Schnauzer to Julian's for his first grooming the staff here were awesome extremely polite, they took time to explain what they were going to do and even explained what they might not be able to do seeing how Wilford being only 6 mos old at time was still a little bit on the wild side I was extremely pleased with the job they did and when I picked him up Wilford was not at all stressed.
