Came here today because I was in the area and I really needed to get my gel manicure done. I checked Yelp before I went and the pictures posted looked like this place was a little more upscale than your average nail salon, that's why I called them. Well I went in for my appointment and right away the first thing I noticed was how dingy it felt. It just didn't feel or look clean to me. The nail polish racks were dirty, their floor had toe nail clippings all around, they had cracks in their walls some bigger than others and the manicure table I was sitting at was very dusty and dirty. I wish I took a picture of it but I didn't. I used to be a mystery shopper along time ago so I am trained to look for certain things. I am no longer a mystery shopper but I guess I'm just used to it. So anyway I went in there as a real client not as a mystery shopper! After I choose my gel color the nail tech got up to get her tools. She came back with her metal tools sealed in a bag but right away I noticed the orange buffer she brought had already been used because you can see all the scrape marks on it. I was shocked!!! Nail files and buffers are a One-Time use only!!! they need to thrown away afterwards or given to the client! I waited to say anything because I was giving her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she wasn't really going to use that on me? Then when it was time to buff she reached for the "used" orange buffer. I immediately stopped her and asked her for a brand new one. She didn't say anything or apologize she just opened her drawer and pulled out a brand new one. I had her show me all four sides. Then she started talking in Vietnamese to the other two techs across the way who were working on two pedicure clients. She was probably talking about me to them, who knows? I don't understand them anyway. I couldn't believe she was about to reuse the same buffer on me that was obviously used on someone else !!!!! yuck! So while I was getting my manicure I hear something that sounds like a power tool, I turn around and a nail tech was using a dremel to exfoliate the client's foot. Now I just recently watched a 20/20 report on tv not too long ago where they went undercover to expose nail salons that were not complying with state regulations and these so called "tools" or dremels are illegal to use in the nail salon world. Again that was a shocker!! My nail polish application was just "ok" I have bubbles and bumps on 2 of my nails. I didn't bother to say anything about it because I didn't have time to redo so I just let it go. That's all I have to say about this place, I will not be going back again. read more

Coming to downtown Burlingame was such a treat, located on such a cute, quaint, bustling street I was happy to find this salon and have excellent customer service, enjoy the atmosphere and leave with perfectly tinted lashes. Coming in feeling is spacious with tall ceilings, beautiful paintings, had a cute feel and overall just so welcoming of a space. With a few chairs for pedicure spas and desks for nails, it felt open and clean. In the back are the private rooms and the back room was small but felt intimate, peaceful and quiet. The overall atmosphere is perfectly relaxed and really wonderful. The colors of the salon are bright without being blinding, which I love to create a warm, inviting feel. All the ladies were so cheerful, friendly and sweet. I worked with Kim and really could not have been happier. Her kind attitude, gentle hands and clear knowledge was comforting and wonderful. Throughout she explained the dyeing process for the eyelash tinting, made sure my eyes were completely protected and was so gentle. It was seriously the best tinting I have had and with so much protection for my eyes. From her soft touch, to her quick hands - everything went smoothly and turned out perfect. My eyes just popped and no mascara for a month! The salon also carries a lot of different products for all your skin needs and while I was only briefly given an overview, I found the quality and expertise in knowledge of the staff excellent. If coming here for a skin beauty regime I could only imagine the beautiful end result. Beautiful, spacious location. Kind, caring and knowledgeable staff. Totally affordable!! I would come back in a heartbeat to redo my lashes and check out her other services when I'm up in the area again. Wonderful location, salon, staff and services. Highly recommended! read more

I have been a customer at Kim's for around 20 years now. I started going there for nails as it was about a block and a half from my home at the time. I have now been living in Mt. View for 5 years and I still go there, for nails and skin. I am able to get in most of the time on the same day as I call. I am usually calling for a specific time to fit into my work schedule. I had a facial with Kim yesterday and my skin is just glowing. There are many types of facials that you can get, as Kim studies in Paris every year to be up on the newest and most valuable techniques and products. Occasionally I cannot afford to get all the products I would like to get, so Kim suggests the one that I need the most. While you have a mask on during the facial, and it is relaxing time, Kim's Mom, Rosie comes in and gives you a neck, chest, upper back, head and arms massage. It is so pampering and I have never had that anywhere else I have gone. All the ladies that work there greet you when you come in the door and make you feel at home. Care for some tea, or water? No problem. So, I suggest to anyone that is in need of these services to get the royal treatment at Kim's Perfect Skin and Nails. read more

I've been searching for a good place for shellac manicures for quite some time. Many places I've been to do not handle my nails with the care and detail needed for a lasting shellac manicure. When they don't pay attention to the edge of the nails, the color starts peeling off around the edge/tip within a week. I decided to try this place since it's near my office and it's located in a more mellow area where I can easily find a parking spot, unlike Burlingame Ave. Friendly staff, especially Anthony who actually remembered my name during my second visit! For the past three times I've been here, Sarah was the lady who did my nails. She always took her time while working on my nails and my manicures from this place lasted much longer than other places I've been too. My friends have been complimenting on my nails and my boyfriend noticed that I've stopped complaining about the color peeling off! They offer other services besides manicures/pedicures so I'm thinking of trying their facials the next time I do my nails! read more

I don't live in NorCal but every time I'm in town, Kim's is my go-to. Everything about it...from the beautiful decor to the lovely ladies to their top of the line quality work... really is perfection. Highly recommend getting a shellac french manicure... very decently priced and they do an amazing job every single time. Had my eyebrows/lip waxed a few times; they are very thorough! Got to try a few of the skin care products and became hooked instantly. My skin is very acne-prone but also very sensitive and the products at Kim's are very gentle but fight the acne at the same time! Can't wait to come back so I can schedule a facial with Kim... Spa Elysee is the former Kim's Perfect Skin salon that I had been going to for years. I was very much looking forward to the new management and update to the salon and have been very pleased! They have great new pedicure chairs now and service is consistently great as it was before. Outside of just my usual nail care and waxing needs here, I always try to make consistent appointments with Kim for her amazing skincare services. I mean looking at her skin is a testament to her treatments which use only the best products from Yonka and the hard to find Biologique Recherche line that works wonders. I adore this salon and will continue to support it under the new Spa Elysee management as I love local businesses like this. She's unbelievably skilled, the service takes less than 10 minutes, she's professional and kind and very capable. You feel completely comfortable with her and the results are consistently good. Because she's well trained and highly skilled, it's as painless as it could possibly be. It's easy to get an appointment, she's available and has a good booking service. This is my HOLY GRAIL nail salon that i go too! its a very cute and clean place to go to get your mani or pedi done! plus, facials done by Kim are amazing! The prices are very reasonable! and all the employees are very realiable I normally get my nails done by a cute little lady named HELEN. She is very nice, and very helpful! I recently moved to Burlingame and had been looking for a new place to get my manicure and pedicure. I came across Kim's Perfect Skin & Nails and finally found the perfect place and I had such a pleasant visit. Karen is the name of the lady who did my mani/pedi and she did an excellent job!!!! Kim's reputation for me rests on my friend's skin quality. After seeing my friend's skin improve with age, I became a fan. I tried Kim's services and was very pleased with her mother's massage that comes with the facial! In addition, the facial reminded me of an acupuncture treatment, stimulating and rigorous. This place is a joke! I went in about two weeks ago for a mani pedi. They started on my pedicure and KIM started to get rid of my old shellac. In the middle of it, KIM said that she didn't have enough time to finish?!?!?! She was completely rude and unreasonable! So I basically left there with ten incomplete and messed up nails! Decided to come here after my regular manicurist in Atherton went on vacation. The person taking appointments on the phone was very pleasant and courteous (already a good sign). The pedis here are simply awesome. I almost fell asleep. Karen worked on me and gave me a gorgeous shellac manicure as well (got lots of compliments at the office the next day).
