Athena was the esthetician who provided me with my first brazillian (EVER!) and underarm sugaring. i was very nervous since this was my first time having either of these services done and i can't wait to be back! Athena made me feel comfortable & made sure that i was alright throughout the session. I walked out of the building feeling like a new woman! She normally goes to Muckleshoot spa, but didn't want to travel that far on her one day off for the week, so we decided to try SugaringNYC in Gig Harbor. She made a 1045 appointment on April 16, 2026 through the website. The confirmation email stated 1040 and the dermaplane facial shows as a 60 minute appointment. I dropped her off and she entered the lobby at 10:30. They have no front desk staff so no one greeted her. She waited about five minutes, texted me and said she hasn't seen anybody and wasn't sure what was going on. I told her they were probably in with other appointments and to give it a few more minutes. Around 1049 someone came out and checked out a couple customers that were done and then checked her in. She was brought back to the room by Nevaeh at 1057. She took about 5 minutes to get set up, so now it's approximately 1102. She didn't put a head wrap to protect my daughter's hair nor did she have my daughter takeoff her shirt and put a robe on or at least just put a robe on to protect her clothing. She proceeded to do the shotty facial getting product and oil in my daughter's hair and clothes, the hot towels soaked my daughter's shirt. My daughter called me at 11:41 and said she was outside waiting for me. Now, I'm not a mathematician but if your appointment is at 10:40 your facial doesn't start until 1102 approximately and you're done at about 1035, paid for and out on the sidewalk at 11:41, your appointment was not 60 minutes. Nevaeh seemed frazzled stating that her manager was over booking them and that frazzled energy carried over into the lack of relaxing spa therapy that you're paying for! When my daughter called me to pick her up, I was shocked. She was already done knowing she went in late. She was very upset. Said that it was not a good experience. Said her freshly washed hair was now greasy with oil and product, and her shirt was soaked and had product on it. I immediately called and spoke to Nevaeh which I didn't know it was her. I explained that my daughter just left there from a facial, which was my birthday gift to her, and she was upset and almost in tears. I told her that my daughter's appointment was only 35 minutes to which she argued with me that she was only shorted five minutes. She didn't have anything to say about not putting a headband on or a robe. I asked her about getting a refund and she told me that she was not able to do that. I would have to email the Washington sugaring NYC email to which I did and have to date 5/4/26 have received NO reply. I've called both the Gig Harbor and the Capitol Hill sugaring locations which are owned by the same person and left messages for the manager, which I got employee's that called me back saying that they're not the manager and they'll forward it to the manager. But still have NOT received any return call from a manager with regards to the terrible spa experience. Don't waste your money at this location they clearly do not care about customer satisfaction, or providing a good spa experience. Clearly they only care about making money.

She is now across the way near the State Farm building, really close to Chick Fil A, and right by the Covington Dental Care. Her studio is on the upper level so what's nice is you have the option of stairs or elevator. There are several offices inside that are beauty related as well. It's clean, quiet, and quaint. It shows I've checked in 6 times. I've actually been to Amanda's more. I just forget to check in. Her prices are up to par with everyone in the industry, and as always gives me great service. Since I get both my under arms and Brazilian she offers me a gown, as well as the table warmer. Really nice to have on cold Seattle days. The last year my doctor told me to stop getting Brazilians due to my hormones, and aging. I tried it for a year. Amanda would just trim my hair, and not sugar. I was thankful for the cleanup because I was miserable being hairy. After a year I decided enough is enough so today I had Amanda take it all off. Having a baby and working the weekends it's extremely hard so I was very grateful I found a place and Sugar waxing was different for me I thought I'd give it a try. I had my appointment with Kiana, she greeted me offered me a flass of wine and we proceeded to the waxing table. I didnt feel pain at first but halfway through the session i heard Kiana say "Oh Shit", i was reslly nervous what she did to me and my left eyelid was on fire I i asked her to please take a break. Another customer showed up and she told the customer 5 min as if she was rushing. She showed me my eyebrows and saw she had yanked, pulled off a bunch of my eyebrows that werent supposed to be removed. I even asked her for an "S Shape" and later continued to tell me to come back Morgan was a specialist in eyebrows. This is so effed up when i made the appointment i specifically told them i wanted an eyebrow wax and i had a lot of work and trusted them. I am in pain still, my skin is irritated and extremely burned and ended up having a black eye of how rough Kiana was with my brow. I got asked at work if i was assaulted it was embarrassing. The owner Vanessa got back to me 3 hrs later, it seemed to me they were more worried about a negative review than the customer. Also Kiana has left unsatisfied customers. I will put captions on the pictures how it looked like throughout the day and reviews of different customer and texts i received. This was the most painful experience I've ever experienced when it comes to eyebrow removal. Next time I am just sticking with eyebrow wax. I gave it a try, it's definitely not for me and again more painful than thread, or wax. To each their own but had a terrible experience and wish them well. I do hope the owner obviously sees that many customers have been dissappinted by Kiaras service. My advice look into this place before you go there. My experience was awful and very painful and ended up with burned, damaged skin, and a black eye.
