A friend of mine texted and asked if I wanted to join her for a pedicure on a Saturday afternoon. The answer to that question is always yes, so she gave me the name of Spa Dabin and I called to schedule an appointment at the same time as hers. Tucked away in a small strip mall, I'd never seen or heard of Spa Dabin before, but I'm so glad my friend knew of it! She used to frequent their location in Old Town before moving to the suburbs. This location is a bit on the smaller side and the layout felt a little peculiar. We were greeted warmly and given our choice of aromatherapy options for the pedicure. They had a great selection of colors in all of the standard brands. The pedicure itself was great - very relaxing and the woman who did mine went above and beyond to remove some calluses. The pedicure seats are across from a tv but if the volume was on at all, it wasn't noticeable. We were easily able to hold a conversation. When we moved to the dryers, we each got a quick but very nice neck and shoulder massage. This is the second time they messed up my appointment. Last time, my friend made appointments for us and they told us they didn't have us written down for two people. This time, I made my sister and I appointments and they said I only made one appointment. I don't even mind them messing up, but they were SO rude and dismissive. I've been going there for many years. Appointments are on time and the hours are great to accommodate anyone's schedule. You are welcomed with a smile every time you arrive. After finishing a medical treatment my nails were badly affected, Spa Dabin adjusted the soaking solution so my nails would get healthier & patched them so no one could see the nail loss. It's great to find a place that looks out for the well-being of patrons in such a kind & supportive manner. I have been a long-time customer and absolutely love going to Spa Dabin in Highland Park. The salon is warm, welcoming and spotless. I don't request a specific person because they are all excellent. The staff have been wearing masks long before COVID and put in plastic screen and curtains after the pandemic hit. Before my daughter's wedding she and I had a mani-pedi session for us and the bridesmaids. We were delighted with the service. read more

I will start by saying I have been here before and wasn't impressed - came for a pedicure that then chipped two days later. However - this time, Eunice did my manicure and I am very happy with it. She was careful to clean my nails and cuticles perfectly, and gave me the beautiful ombré manicure I asked for. I'll be back to see her again! read more

What a gem of a nail salon! Tucked away in a not so easy to see area I didn't even realize they were open. New, modern and spacious. All of the ladies working here were over the top nice. I thoroughly enjoyed a flawless mani/pedi that included a hot stone foot massage & hand paraffin. They run monthly specials and the stone/paraffin was so nice! They also offer a membership that includes discounts and a free birthday manicure. I think the membership is the way to go even if you only go 1x month. They also offer chair massage & waxing. So glad I stumbled upon Spa Dabin. I have a new favorite spot for a little pampering. read more

Good choice of colors but never have had a good experience here. The first time I came here was in early December for a manicure. I loved the color I chose but saw it was one of those "5 dollar extra" ones, aka the "better quality polish" and the "no chip polish." The manicure process was nice, but not even 24 hours later my manicure had clipped. And by chipped, my pointer finger's polish was half off. Went back that afternoon to ask about getting my finger re-done and the ladies looked at me funny like that was some kind of weird favor. I mean, why wouldn't you go back to get it fixed? They complied and fixed the nail free of charge, but the day after that 3 more nails chipped and I was kind of over it. By the end of the week, my nails look so gross I had to remove the polish. Definitely not worth the money, let alone the extra $5. I also was there last week and decided to go with Essie, a brand I always use and never have a problem with. The manicure looked good but again, a day after I had gotten my nails done 2 had chipped. I think that it's the way Spa Dabin does nails that make them chip/crack so easily. I have been coming to Spa Dabin for 2.5 years and I can't rave enough about the quality and consistency of their services. I moved back to Illinois after living in San Francisco for 5 years where I was spoiled by some of the best salon services. Spa Dabin is as good if not better than the salons I visited in SF. I love getting their pedicures and manicures and on top of amazing nail services, they give you a phenomenal back massage while your nails dry. During covid times they have added plastic separators and are diligent about wearing masks (and keeping their masks above their noses which I'm finding is a problem at many businesses recently). Anyways do yourself a favor and book an appointment at Spa Dabin! Help keep this amazing HP salon open during these challenging times. read more

I was a very loyal customer. However, yesterday everything changed. My nail tech was great and sweet. I wanted to do a nail design and it didn't end up working. It looked so terrible- we just made the nails all solid colors. Except one nail was a different color. Also, it was supposed to match the color of my toes and it was not near the color. we even tried making it darker by adding an extra coat. Another lady came up to her to give her the amount I owed and I felt that was unprofessional and I felt rushed. So I paid and just left. I was super bummed and unhappy with my nails- called and left a voicemail immediately (2 hours before they closed), no one called me back. I called today and they said they would charge me entirely for a mani/pedi again. I'm beyond disappointed. I went yesterday with my daughter and cousin. I've referred them so many new customers and they couldn't as a courtesy change my polish. The lady I spoke to today quickly hung up on me. Very disappointed and upset. read more

The WORST no chip manicure I have ever had! Not only was it far more expensive than I usually spend, my nails began to chip after just 2 days. After one week, most nails are completely ruined. After calling to complain, they offered to re-do my manicure. I went back and halfway through my manicure, informed me that I would actually have to pay because they meant to tell me they would only re-do the chipped nails..... never going back here! read more

I had a great pedicure and my daughter got her manicure from here (4 year old). They were nice and friendly with her and fine with me. No talking, just working on my toes, which I'm fine with. I also had a lip wax which was good. Overall, I'd come back. read more

Great Manicure!! Very nice people. I am normally not a manicure type person, I usually do my own nails, but was given a gift for this salon and so I tried. My hands were dipped in parafin and massaged, they even massaged my neck and shoulders. I Loved it!! I think I am spoiled. I have now been there twice and each manicure lasted about a month (started to chip at about 3 1/2 weeks), I never expected it to last so long. read more

Spa Diban is the best! It's modern, clean, and well-run. Manicures and pedicures are the best. I went in with very sore feet and noticed I could pay for a longer foot leg massage, an extra 10, 20 or more minutes. My feet were felt terrific. Best manicure I've found in HP.
