I called Spa Cahaba to schedule a Spa Day for my wife for her birthday. They said they had an opening at 10:00. I pay $255 and inform my wife of her appointment. She gets their and is then told by the receptionist that she cant be seen until 11:30. What's the point of making an appointment.... Anyway, she goes back at 11:30 and she is then seen. The package that i got for her included a one hour relaxing float, one hour massage, and a facial light treatment in that order So she gets their and gets the message first and then facial and was then told that they wouldnt do the float because it would wash off the stuff they used during the facial and massage. They wanted to reschedule the float for 2:00pm. When she gets their they then tell her they recommend her to reschedule the float for another day. This shit is ridiculous! I googled it and it has a five star review. Avoid this place like covid!

I suspect he does that to distract you as he pricks you because I barely felt anything and usually I'm a big baby. But the most important thing is he KNOWS exactly where he's pricking. I thought I had already reviewed this place but I've been getting Botox the last 20 years or so, and his was almost painless, but more importantly is he did it properly ( I had it done a couple times at a dentist ( that I won't name) until I once I looked like I had a stroke (for three months) because they did it wrong -so I advise you to use it a medical doctor not a dentist ! Everybody that works here is so nice. . The pricing is a little confusing. They have different " tox clubs " I didn't fully understand. I just usually go and get what I need.. The prices are fair and competitive for Birmingham and I won't be going anywhere else after finding this place, because I enjoyed it. It was relatively painless and I really like the people that work here.

There were some nuances about using filler in the cheeks, which I completely understood and was flexible about. I was happy to proceed with areas the provider was comfortable treating such as the lips. However after this discussion, a different person came in and informed me that my Groupon was not valid for another two months. This was never communicated ahead of time, despite them having access to my chart and booking details. This could have easily been addressed before confirming my appointment and would have saved me time and frustration. What made this even more frustrating is that they had already redeemed my Groupon voucher. When I asked for the appointment to be canceled after learning the voucher was not valid, I was told I would need to take it up with Groupon rather than the office resolving it directly. Additionally, I've consistently felt a lack of professionalism during my visits and it unfortunately seems tied to the fact that I booked through Groupon. Every patient deserves the same level of respect and care, regardless of how services are paid for. I do not recommend this med spa. There are many other professional and reputable options in Birmingham, and I would strongly suggest choosing one of those instead.

The staff was professional but this situation was trash. When I've had tattoo removal treatments at other places, pain relief was simply a common sense part of the process. We've seen Dr. Glick just once, but she was very professional too. The staff have been helpful and courteous. We had some issues when our insurance didn't want to cover one medication but the staff worked it out for me by submitting a prior authorization form (my prescription insurance can be difficult to work with so I appreciate the way they handled it). I've been so many times that I can't give an actual number and we are usually called back to see the doctor after waiting from 0-15 minutes past the appointment time. I think most doctors' offices are like that. Once, we had to wait an hour, but that has never happened again (I guess everyone has a bad day). When you go, wear a sweater (even in the summer) because the waiting room is really cold! I'd recommend Dr. Groysman and her staff to anyone who needs a caring and thorough dermatologist.

During that call, I was told that "he does the Groupon massages on Wednesday). The day arrived and I received a call a couple hours before my appointment stating the massage therapist had something come up and they'd need to reschedule me. I was then given options on Friday and even Saturday, despite what I was told on the initial call. I scheduled for Saturday of that same week, at 1 o'clock. When I arrived, the door was locked but a gentleman quickly opened it. He greeted me politely, introduced himself as Antonio, and informed me he was my massage therapist. I quickly realized that there was no other staff there with us. I was okay with this situation, but there are women that would NOT be comfortable going for a massage with a male masseuse and them being the only two individuals there. I think that information would've been good to share for anyone scheduling on the weekend, when it's a skeleton crew. Antonio provided me with three sheets of paperwork to fill out as it was my first time there. (Allow extra time for paperwork prior to your appt time) Once I finished the paperwork, he asked me if I needed to use the restroom before we got started. Once in the massage room, I was a little taken aback by the look of the room. The sheets and light blanket were brown and black, with the headrest cover being an ill-fitting pillow case. The walls had oil all over them, as well as dirty finger prints. Another observation made was that he had his cell phone charging in the exam room as my appointment was getting started. Antonio went over my paperwork and asked me any questions he had about the information I shared pertaining to my pain. He then shared with me what the Groupon massage entails; a Swedish massage that is either a full body massage or it could be concentrated on problem areas. Since my chronic pain is from my neck to my low back, I chose to do upper body. I appreciated Antonio explaining the options. He also said that the Groupon massage is typically "50 minutes on the table", which I'm assuming is allowing for time to dress and discuss results when there are back to back appointments. (He ended up giving me the full 60 minutes, however) Antonio is very skilled at what he does. He made sure I was comfortable and worked the areas I discussed with him, to provide a lot of relief. One suggestion I would make is to either get another chair that is quieter, get a pad of some kind, or pick up and move the chair. The chair moving across the floor is very loud and definitely interrupts the serene ambiance of the massage, in particularly when he's moving from one side of the table to the other. Antonio provided some really great tips for caring for my muscles and let me know that I am able to buy up to 3 Groupon sessions per year. He said whether i come back to this location or go somewhere else, that he recommends continuing in my care. Antonio was wonderful! He made me feel very comfortable and respected. He referred to me by "Ms. H...." the entire time. He is knowledgeable about his trade and professional is the way he engages. I highly recommend changing the massage table linens to white, clean the walls and keep personal cell phones out of the area. Aside from that, very happy with the service!

I was travelling to Alabama (from Charlotte, NC) to celebrate my birthday weekend to bear witness to the civil rights movement, and especially to honor those whose lives were taken so brutally (lynchings). Since I was in need of an electrolysis session, I figured I'd take advantage. Zainab replied to my initial email inquiry 8 later. No issue there since I had plenty of time before arriving in Birmingham. We set my appointment for 30 Oct at 2pm. Arriving 15 minutes early, the receptionist indicated which way I should head. I knocked on the door; however, there was no answer, so I thought perhaps Z was treating another client. I went back towards the reception desk asking for the ladies room. After being done in the LR, I headed back to Z's office. (note: I was wearing my face mask & had my cell phone in my hand as was hoping I could charge it since the battery was very low). I knocked on the door again. Z opens the door (no face mask nor shield, no gloves), looking a bit frazzled made me think she had been napping. I said hello & her response to me was "Darlene?" No smile, no "hi"...nothing. She was abrupt and off-putting. Honestly, my initial reaction was to tell her how rude she came across, then to walk off, but I really wanted to have treatment for my chin hairs. I replied with "No, I'm Lola, I have an appt @ 2pm." Again she just looked at me with a puzzled expression, and repeats "are you Darlene, my 1 o'clock appointment? I repeated that my name is Lola, and I added, I don't know about Darlene, but I'm Lola. Then she tells me that her 1 appt never showed up and asks me "do you have a 1 o'clock appt?" Clearly, Z was all kinds of confused. I figured, she's an older woman and obviously, I woke her up from her mid-day nap...I'll cut her some slack and get this quick 15min session over with. I walk in, set my bag on a chair beside a small table and that's when I noticed the available outlet so asked her if I could charge my phone. She doesn't reply, so I said "I'll take that as a yes?" In a curt manner, Z replies "I guess so" I'm thinking, this chick has got the worst attitude !! Before taking my place on the bed/table to begin my treatment, I asked her if she would sanitize her hands before we got started. That immediately set her off. She sanitized them and grabbed for her plastic facial shield, then turning to face me, pointing to her face shield, says "if this is not ok with you, then you can leave"......again, here I wanted to walk out, but I didn't. The treatment starts and I take off my mask, showing her the hairs along my chin. She asked me if I'd had electrolysis before and though she was still less than friendly, at least I appreciated she was curious about my experience with the mode of hair removal. She also went about to make an assessment about my skincare regimen (sounding judgmental about my pigmentation, she must not have realized that I have freckles - ones I'm are quite fond of). At one point I mentioned that being from NYC, I've had all kinds of electrolysis and I was curious about her training. She defiantly mentioned she was schooled in London and said "if that's good enough". Dude, chill out!! End of the session came. Z dabbed a bit of witch hazel on my treated areas. I said "merci, merci" (because she told me she's Iranian - that's a whole other conversation). That was the ONLY light hearted moment she let out a small chuckle. When I get off the table, I commented to her about the "you can leave" remark. She retorted that since I had asked her about sanitizing her hands, she wanted me to know that she had a face shield and that I could leave if that wasn't acceptable. I told her that her remark was off putting. I also reminded her that she was less than cordial when she "greeted" me at the door. Her reasoning: "I was startled." To which I replied, "well, you didn't even say 'hello' and normally one would greet a customer by saying 'hi' or 'hello'.... Z replied: then I guess I'm not normal I paid with my credit card (ZERO tip) and walked out. Final note: I had sent to her a follow up email to inquire about methods of payment she accepts (cash, check, credit card, debit card, Venmo) because I wanted to be sure I was prepared and I usually do not carry much cash on hand. She did not respond to that email, so I sent a follow up request about 1/2 day later....still no response. I would NOT recommend her service. She did not thank me for my patronage and gave the impression she was doing me a favor. You couldn't pay me any amount of money to return. Z has zero affability and an absolutely awful bedside manner!!
