This has turned into a nice getaway day for some much needed girl time for us. The prices for services are not outrageous and you get to enjoy their facilities. Their steam room and hot tub room are so great to help relax and aide the detoxification process before and after the massage services. They also have special event nights for an accessible price. For valentines they had a galentines event where you got red light therapy mask for 15 minutes, hot wrap which was phenomenal, there was also a foot massage, hand scrub and cocktails with snacks additional to their normal snack bar in their quiet room. read more

I attended the Spa After Dark event at the Spa at Ross Bridge to kick off my birthday weekend, and it was such a nice experience! The services offered included a chair massage, relaxation goggles, infrared wrap, foot massage, and hand massage. I was able to enjoy everything except the wrap and foot massage, but I still left feeling relaxed. Guests also had access to the whirlpool, though I only dipped my feet in since I forgot my swimsuit. At the start, there was a bit of a wait in the lounge, and things felt a little unorganized. Two hours didn't quite seem like enough time to experience everything, so I plan to arrive earlier next time and make sure I take full advantage of all the offerings. The extras were a great touch--free treats like fruit, chocolate desserts, and macarons, plus a bar with two drink tickets included. Went with a friend as a celebration. Because of COVID precautions, we couldn't check in until 30 minutes beforehand. Also, because it was a weekend, we did not have access to the pool, but that is available if you go during the week and not a hotel guest. Services come with a complimentary drink: champagne, mimosa, or wine. We were given a nice pinot grigio which we enjoyed after our massages. Though maybe we should have gotten it before, because afterward I was so relaxed, I was almost tired. Enjoyed a fantastic massage with Deanna. We went to the steam room afterward, and it was super steamy and further relaxing. The "Quiet Room" isn't really quiet--it has a hot tub, and several other guests were sitting around chatting. Most people just dipped their legs in, but you're always welcome to don a suit and wade in. They do provide bags for wet suits, too. Phones are discouraged, though several had them, and I actually couldn't get service in the locker area, so I don't have pictures to add outside of one selfie that I won't add! I had a great experience here. This is a really nice spa. I had a swedish massage with Andy. The massage felt great and I felt comfortable the whole time. Afterwards, I was told I could use the spa or steam room if I wanted and that I was welcome to stay until they closed which was a good two hours after my massage. I took a nice, long hot shower. Everything that I need was provided. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razor, shaving cream, deodorant, comb, just about anything you could think of. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed. I got the deep tissue 50 minute massage for $185 and it was nothing more than a back rub, like another reviewer said. I asked my masseuse, Kaitlyn?, to go deeper but she mostly used her arms for pressure instead of going into my muscles with her fingers, like I'm used to. It definitely wasn't worth the over $200, after tip, I paid. With those prices, the experience should be better! They only have a small whirlpool, steam room, and outdoor pool as extra "free" amenities with your pass. Oh, and a glass of champagne. I've paid wayyy less in other states and had much better experiences. I will not be returning and I cannot recommend. 2 stars since my masseuse was kind. She offered me a sample of their cbd oil, since she recommended it, but when I checked out they told me there were no samples and the front desk girl told me she's not sure why Kaitlyn would say that and didn't even offer to get any from the back for me to try. So disappointed. My wife had a facial scheduled And they emailed her an hour before to cancel. Same trip- I went in for an hour massage and after I had already changed they told me the person called in sick. Had to wait 49 minutes for a 25 min massage. Amazing. I was here on vacation with my boyfriend and his family & first of all this hotel has definite swank status. When we arrived last night, the spa was already closed so we vowed to go see if they could squeeze us in first thing in the morning. The folks at the front desk at the Spa were very friendly. They were able to tell us their availability and when we could fit in. My boyfriend's mom got a facial and my boyfriend and I both got Swedish massages (their signature massage). We opted against the couples massage but they have that available too. The front desk folks told us to come back before our noon appointment times to enjoy some of their amenities before our massages. When I went back, I was escorted around the back and shown where everything is. The lady that showed me wasn't quite as hospitable as the front desk folks, but she did her job effectively. I changed and made my way to the steam room which was excellent. They also had a spa but I didn't bring my bathing suit so I put my feet in but that was it. Just before my massage, I went to the waiting room, where they had hot tea and water and a few snacks waiting for those who want it. The only thing missing here was some champagne. My masseuse was amazing! Her name was Karen and she made me so comfortable beforehand. We chatted a bit about life and then she asked about pressure (I like a little more pressure than most) and she was so accommodating. I loved talking to her and she was an incredible masseuse so double win! Overall a great experience. Sometimes you pay a little more for a great experience. It was definitely worth it! read more

I booked a facial with an add-on service and received an email confirmation of my appointment and services that I requested. However, when I got there, it took the receptionist several minutes to find my appointment in their system. Then I was told that they were unaware of my add-on service and that there was no one there who could do it. The receptionist said that I could give them a call if I ever had a question about an online booking, but I explained that everything appeared to be correct from my email confirmation so I was unaware of a problem. Also, a facial product was recommended to me during my appointment, but they didn't have it in stock. I was told that they could order the product for me, but I declined. read more

Not a fan. I have had two experiences with Ross Bridge Birmingham. Both as a gift. The first was "just ok". I ask for a deep tissue massage, left feeling like I had a back rub. The second visit I was stuck in 459 traffic, appointment was at 2pm, I called at 1:30 left a VM on the concierge phone. Phoned again every 15 minutes. I was told that I could come and receive the remaining minutes of my appointment. I volunteered to wait till later in the day, come to next day etc., and so on. I WAS TOLD REGARDLESS I WOULD BE CHARGED FOR THE ENTIRE APPOINTMENT. No avenue for negotiation. I paid $145 for a guy to rub oil on my back. I was in tears when I left. So I phoned my son and said PLEASE, PLEASE do not get me another gift from Ross Bridge. The massage school near Brookwood is much better read more

I have stayed at the Ross Bridge Hotel before and had a great time, however I can't say the same for the Spa. I was given a gift card for Christmas and thought it would be great to take my Mom with me so we could enjoy a Mother Daughter Spa afternoon. Booking the treatments was fine. We went a couple of hours before our bookings to enjoy the Spa facilities, this is where the disappointment came in! Two hours was way, way to long as all that was there to enjoy was a hot tub! The steam room was out of order, no sauna, no fitness room, no indoor pool. I have been to many spas over the years and never been to one that was so poorly equipped! The Hot tub room was pleasant and warm, but the 'lounge' was basically just a room with a few wooden chairs and some very sad looking snacks and only water to drink. There were facilities for hot drinks, however no coffee, no lemon or milk for tea! Not only that, but outside of the Hot Tub room, it was freezing. The treatments themselves were nice (hence why this is a two star review not a one star), but for the price, I would have expected a lot more. I will not be visiting again, there are plenty of other spas in the area which have many more facilities and treatments that are far more reasonable. read more

Confused at the great reviews here... I travel a lot and have been to a lot of spas (luxury ones with a similar price tag), I was beyond disappointed with the experience here relevant to the price tag. First of all, in your confirmation email, make sure you check the tiny fine print at the bottom where they tell you that you're only allowed to enjoy the spa facilities for an hour prior to and after your service. I've never heard of anything like that before in the many spas I've visited. Also in that same fine print, they'll tell you that if you aren't a hotel guest, you can't use the outdoor pool and hot tub area. Also something I've never experienced before. I emailed and called this place multiple times prior to my service to request it be a couple's experience (because the online portal doesn't have it listed), and I never heard back. So our experience was not a couple's experience, even though I specified it when I booked it (ugh) and left multiple emails and voicemails. The signature journey was...okay... definitely not $175 worth, though. I would have felt more comfortable paying around $85 for it. The indoor pool area felt dirty. The locker room area was WAY too small (one little area that everyone has to use). The waiting room for the massages was also too small, many women were just standing around. So overall, just not a great experience. I will not be visiting again. read more

I booked a spa journey with mint and lavender oil for $170 on my wedding anniversary, when I arrived the front desk people were rude, I got a coconut oil instead of lavender and mint like advertised, and when I was in the changing room changing my clothes a man worker opened a door on me without knocking, I called them they gave me an email address to email the manager Jessica sellers, I did emailed her 3 times and still no answer, they are overpriced, rude. I am sorry for giving it one star they don't deserve any. This place is a complete joke when it comes to customer service! They don't have the foggiest idea. My wife called ahead to make sure that her gift card would still be accepted because it was old. They confirmed over the phone that they would honor her gift card. Then they proceeded to mess up the times of her reservation. When she arrived they told her that she had missed her manicure appointment. So she went ahead with the pedicure appointment. Upon completion they proceeded to charge her $115 for both appointments. Then they refused to take the hundred dollar gift card. So at the end of the day she is out $115 for a pedicure because, as they explained to her, the person that she talked to was new!!! Buyer beware!!! read more

I visited twice. The first time was great, loved my massage and enjoyed the lounge. The second time was awful. For starters, the male attendant who walked me to the back once I checked in made me super uncomfortable. After showing me the locker room and lounge area he left and I assumed he would not come back as I ofcourse needed to change. He then came back 4-5 times.. first when i was changing clothes he popped up randomly then again when i was showering after the massage he popped up beside the showers as I am walking in. He came around the corner fast and said "almost done" and at this moment I was naked walking into a shower. He clearly had no reason to walk into the shower area as I had just walked in after my massage.. i was the only guest inside the showers so to be hovered over multiple times made me highly uncomfortable especially inside the showers. He walked back and forth the area I was in over and over. I will never be back. Then.. we found out we couldn't use the pool after getting massages because it is for hotel guest only during "peak season". In my mind im thinking "we just dropped 400$ plus tip at this place for massages and we cannot use the pool?" That was disappointing. Overall not a good experience.
