I lived in LaVergne, TN for almost 4 years. I used this company for annual termite treatment only, paying about $140 annually for this.
I am currently trying to sell my home. Unfortunately, my potential buyers can't move forward because I have a 'dirty termite letter' from the service they used (ACE). There are no active termites, but evidence of old activity that needed to be cleaned.
Before I moved, I scheduled a site check. The same technician (Virgil Hicks) who has always serviced my property, came. I showed him the 'dirty letter' and the suggested treatments I wanted done. He said he would do a termite check and then schedule another appointment for what I was asking.
The availability of the next service, I would be out of state, but he said I didn't have to be home as it would be an outside check. I called customer service before the appointment to confirm the list of things that needed to be done, but apparently the customer service staff are unable to communicate these things to the technicians? I spoke with a Mike who was not patient with me and overall not helpful to my concerns. He only suggested that I have someone on the property to speak for me and to make sure it was with the manager technician (Virgil).
I had to reschedule the appointment to align my real estate agent's schedule and Virgil's. The appt was for 4pm. My agent was at my property from 3:40-4:30 with no sign of Virgil. I received an invoice that he did a termite check at 4:00. I spoke with customer service who checked his GPS, and it was listed that he arrived at 3:30.
First, I had asked for him to clean mud tunnels that were found, not another check. Second, I had stated to at least 2 different customer service reps that my agent would be at the property to go over the list of treatments I wanted done.
So, a 10 minute redundant check with no updates to the problems that I have been reiterating to several phone reps and to Virgil himself at least once.
Now I'm paying ACE almost $600 to do in one appointment what Sovereign can't seem to do in 3, so I can finally sell my home.
This company may be fine for regular checks for live termites, but anything more complicated than looking for them is probably wasted $ on this company. Being unable to speak with the technician or knowing that communicating with the rep will not necessarily reach a technician makes their service incredibly limited.
I used Ken's Exterminating for quarterly pest control, and I wish I had used them for termites as well before entering a contract with Sovereign. Although in hind sight, it would have been worth the money to switch. read more
