I have to comeback and review this place again with a lower rating. one times my order was not made, one time a person took it and two times it was made way later where people who have ordered a similar drink after have received theirs. I finally asked the barista how they prioritize orders and learned that the business owners do not want to create a ticket number system or name taking at all even though employees suggested that. I felt so bad because this is not only bad customer service but also causing unnecessary blames on their employees. I wouldn't be a regular here. There are several amazing coffee places I already know that have far greater customer service for a similar quality of coffee. The baristas are great people! read more

My favorite coffee shop in Berkeley! Great coffee and espresso drinks and their Vietnamese Iced Coffee is absolutely delicious on a hot day it's a must try. The staff is so welcoming and nice, they are what set this place apart from any other coffee shop! Although I haven't tried any of the pastries they all look amazing and the sandwiches are really tasty too! The turkey sandwich with cranberry is great! If you need a place to do work for a few hours or just stop in and relax, Souvenir is the place you should come. Give it a try you won't be disappointed at all! read more

Cute coffee shop in a really hidden location with airy window seats under construction because they're building more seating. The music was really funny and quirky - they were playing Promiscuous Girl at 11 AM on a Sunday morning, which was truly unexpected but not unwelcome. Wish they had more outlets (had to charge my phone at a random barstool) and wish they were open until later than 5 PM just because location is so cute and seating will expand soon. I have to agree with everyone else about their customer service. I ordered two drinks, was accidentally charged $15. The barista told me the payment did not go through so I paid again, this time the correct amount. The drinks were nothing out of the ordinary. When my credit card bill arrives I see both charges. I try calling, but they have no costumer service line. So I send in a form email. I hear back awhile later and the owner essentially accuses me of lying and refuses to refund my money. I like the lights dangling from the ceiling, the succulents growing in pots on the wall, the plush armchairs and the gentle hum of coffee maker :). Came on a Tuesday morning, and it was primarily occupied by older folks (i.e. working professionals and potentially retirees). What a great local cafe! I'm a bit of a coffee snob myself and I highly recommend Souvenir. I sampled a number of their drinks and their Nitro Brew is simply the best. After it pours, you're treated to a waterfall effect in your clear to-go cup. Once you give it a taste, it gives the kind of luxurious mouthfeel similar to a milkshake but with no cream. I downed about half while I was there and had the rest back at my office and it still tasted great even when it was not as cold. Since it is a soft opening, the owner allowed me to taste a shot of the nitro brew with some condensed coconut sweetener which would be perfect for anyone who likes a little sugar w/ their coffee. Best of all it tastes great even if you don't like the polarizing flavor of coconut. If you are not feeling like coffee, but happen to be in their coffee shop for some reason, I'd also suggest the lemonade, its quite frankly addictive. I'm not exactly sure how they make it, but you'll be hooked. Finally, with regard to menu items, I happened to be there while they were experimenting with sandwiches and was able to get my hands on half of a wonderful pastrami sandwich. I'm assuming they will have a handful of sandwiches for order soon. They are made on great local bread and delicious. I love that they asked me to try some and for my opinion. With regard to the aesthetic, the shop is very cute and hip, but not TOO hip to where you feel like you don't belong if you're 23+ like some other shops (I'm old now and the youngsters make me feel that way sometimes). They aren't 100% finished decorating but they've put together a great base, great colors and counters and the cafe is well laid out for sitting and getting work done, chatting with staff or reading a book. It also looks like they have a back patio that COULD be used for outdoor seating one day. Overall, its already great cafe that is only going to get better as they finish and get ready for a grand opening. I highly suggest sneaking over there beforehand just to support a new local business, try their coffee and get hooked on their lemonade and getting to know the folks there. They are all super cool, friendly and informative on coffee and the shop. I couldn't recommend a place any more than Souvenir Coffee. read more

This is a great little study spot. Plenty of outlets and some seating. Solid WiFi connection. The drinks are good and fairly priced. It is nice and bright and very clean in here, so for me personally it's the perfect study spot. It's also a little aways from the University campus so it's not terribly packed on weekends and you can get some solid work or reading done here without the crowds of undergrad students. All around, good place to study. The menu selection for food could be a little more, but I'm always one to prefer a simpler menu (+they have waffles, and I'm a sucker for a good waffle ) read more

First time here today! Tucked-away coffee shop on a busy Claremont. They have the expected prices for a Bay Area shop, and sipping a good flat white as we speak. Met Mark (whom I presume is the manager), who's super friendly and amiable. Quiet environment with jazz. Love it. They do close a bit on the earlier side. They roast their own beans (which is always a plus for me!). Hope in the future they might renovate the patio to provide outdoor seating! :) read more

I came here on a Saturday afternoon and was surprised to find the cafe nearly empty! It has such a welcoming open atmosphere with a good amount of seating. I love that they have comfy couches, giving the place a very homey vibe. Street parking was super easy and the area itself is very cute with some shops and homes nearby. The music was soft jazz, perfect for getting work done, and we can't forget about the coffee which was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place! read more

have been looking forward to trying out this tiny spot for a while! it's hidden away a few blocks up from the Safeway on college and absolutely adorable. free WiFi, nice design and it's very peaceful...my only complaint is that it's a bit pricey especially the food. their blue bottle inspired waffles were $6.50 each was a pass for me given how teeny tiny the space is. with that all said, the coffee was a lot smoother than Cole's down the street and I'm looking forward to trying the espresso drinks next time :) read more

This place is so new that they're literally still building it. When I visited there were construction tools out in the open and a guy was doing some measurements. It looks like it's already going to be really popular because a lot of people were coming in. The coffee is pretty good, yet I didn't have any of the pastries. All the staff is very friendly and welcome to accommodate. I wouldn't describe this place as a work cafe, it's more of a sit and chat cafe. read more

A great new coffee shop in Berkeley! Its a great location tucked away on Claremont so parking is usually fine. Souvenir roasts their own beans and their coffee has been good. I usually get a flag white and they make a really good one. Good clean vibe on the inside; good for both chatting and getting reading or work done. They are still working on finishing parts of the place and I would love to see them develop the back patio at some point; would be a great place to sit and chat. Glad they are here. read more

This was my first time here. The environment is very comfortable and chill. The prices are also very reasonable. I bought a Chai Latte and it wasn't too bitter or sweet.
