On June 12, 2026 they called while I was in a client meeting and left a voice mail saying they couldn't laminate the poster. I returned their call at 5:33 PM that same day. When I arrived at 7:30pm the store to at least pick up the brochures, I discovered they hadn't even been printed. Unbelievably, the employee at the counter claimed they held up the entire order because they were waiting for the return call I had already made. They told me to call the next day because they might be done. They weren't. On Saturday, after the actual event I needed the laminated poster for had already passed, I went back to the store. The employee admitted the brochures still weren't printed but promised to run them immediately if I waited 20 minutes. I waited in the store for over 20 minutes, only to be approached by a manager named Carlos with a completely different story: they actually had the laminate all along, but someone had broken the machine. I left the store empty-handed yet again...no brochures, which I can still use and no poster (which is now useless to me as the event is over). To top it off, Carlos then asked me to drive back a third time at noon on Sunday just to see if they could get it resolved. This location dragged me along with conflicting stories, empty promises, and endless wasted time. Because of their severe lack of organization and communication, I missed my deadline entirely. Today, 3/22/23 at 6:15pm, I took my weekly church bulletin order in. I always put this order in on Wednesdays because I am out of town on Thursdays and Fridays. I pick this order up on Saturdays when I return home. Our church pays approximately $600.00 per month to Office Max for these orders. When I arrived, I found a sign that says the print shop was closed at 4:00 today. (HOW WAS I TO KNOW THIS?) The woman whom I had never seen before behind the counter, who told me she was the manager, was working on an order that needed to be done. I asked her for a piece of paper. She said that they don't give free paper. I found a scrap of paper in a trash can. I wrote a note to Emily so that I could leave my order. I told Emily I would pay or this order when I picked up. When I had finished, I placed my order with the instructions on the counter behind the gate. This woman called me back and refused to accept my order without payment because "things had changed" and I must pay for the order ahead of time as I always have done. But the area was closed so I could not pay. I told her I would have to come in Saturday and wait for the order to be done. She said that would not be possible. They don't do orders while people wait. In other words, she was not helpful to me at all and actually argumentative. She could have cared less if my order was filled or not--- let alone make money for Office Max. Before I retired, I was a manager. I feel it is important that you know when your company is not being represented well.
