Being a first time car buyer, but a seasoned accompaniment to family and friends purchasing cars; I've encountered a fair number of car salespersons. So of course, I was on high alert for those used car salespeople who steer you toward the pricier cars, force you to test-drive them, sweet talk you and then make you feel as if your life will not be worth living without those wheels. Anyway, the guys at Southside Toyota aren't at all pushy and are more than willing to talk through certain features you need whilst remaining in your budget. If you're in the market to buy a pre-loved car, I recommend you ask for Geoffery - he's knowledgeablet, un-pushy and a great guy just to sit down and have a chat to. Having said that, be sure to budget your time as well as your finances; it's easy to get carried away! read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID Would not ever recommend their so called fixed service price. I paid $329 for a basic service instead of the due 80,000 log book service. Told I needed to spend a further$1000+ on battery/brakes etc on a car I'd brought from then 4 months before! I took the car to an independent garage who told me the battery/brakes etc didn't at this time need replacing! Disgusting customer service! SHAME ON YOU read more

Don't trust these people. From the day my husband drove the used car (36K ) out the lot he had trouble with it. They did not want to know and even after their own service department said there was problems. Just not interested once they made the sale. Lots of used cars out without dealing with people like this. read more

Have purchased 2x new and a demo vehicle over 2 years from Southside Toyota Woolloongabba and having a number of issues on the 3rd (new) vehicle. These guys are everything, but helpful. All they care about is getting a sale. Even after complaints through Toyota guest experience still nothing. Stay clear of this Carzoos lot! read more

Women - be prepared to be undermined and ignored at this dealership. My partner and I just purchased a new car through Southside Toyota, and I traded in my old car for a discount. While I am happy enough with the car I bought, I felt completely belittled and undermined by the staff at this dealership. When I traded my car in, the gentleman who was dealing with us took my keys and left me inside to evaluate the car on his own - he didn't want me to come with him. When he returned, he stopped making eye contact with me and offered a couple of hundred for the car, which was a 2009 model with relatively low kms. His reason was "it's a three door - people won't buy it". I am not familiar or comfortable with negotiating on prices, but I told him I was a little disappointed and he suddenly offered $1000 for it. I am shocked and surprised that in a matter of seconds his "evaluation" went from a couple of hundred to $1000. I wasn't entirely happy with this price either, but settled on it. When my partner arrived, the gentleman stopped talking to me and directed all communication to my partner, despite my name being on all the paperwork. Instead of feeling excited about the new car, I left feeling embarrassed and undermined. I can't help thinking that I was taken advantage of. In hindsight, I should have gone back to the Toyota dealership at Springwood... they didn't have the exact car I was after, but their service was impeccable. read more
