The moment I walked in with our dog Fat Boy I knew we had found his place! Everyone is so welcoming to not just the pets but humans to! I was given a tour of the entire place including the outdoor areas for the pets to have a break. The facilities do NOT smell like any other dog groomers I have been to, they have really invested into their facility and the care and attention they give to the animals! They hurt my little Yorkie and did a terrible job grooming her, I did a better job on her myself. YES I was a customer of yours and this happened just before you shut down the Waterloo site. A really great place for grooming needs of any kind. Took our dog Bella in for a bath twice now. She's incredibly scared of anything new abs baths are no different. Took my 10 month old Yorkie Poo to South Paws today. The ladies are very nice, the salon is super clean and they treated my girl like one of their own. At pick up, my girl was happy and looked wonderful! The only reason I gave 4 stars, instead of 5, is that the price was a bit high for a 7 pound dog. read more

I literally posted a 5 star review the morning that I dropped my 2 dogs off for grooming. I was expecting them to look like the last few times I've taken them. My cocker spaniel came with completely shaved ears and both were bleeding. The bad part is-- they didn't ask if they could shave his ears. And then they butchered him. I called the owner and complained. She asked me to stop by. She was very sweet and sincerely apologetic. She offered to pay for us to go to the vet but said it would be $300 afterhours so we just put alcohol on his ears and let them scab over. Didn't want to put the poor lady into debt!! She seems super nice and we've had such great experiences until then. They need to fire that groomer. She kept complaining about having a 6 month year old and how she can't do anything anymore. Maybe she's being kept up at night and that's why she cut into my dogs ears! Overall I would still recommend this place. Just NOT the gal that helped me. We will be back due to the owner truly being apologetic. read more

We took our dog to be groomed and bathed. While she was there she had a severe seizure. When my wife called to see what time she would be ready, they informed her they were running behind and oh by the way your dog had a severe seizure about 45 minutes ago. We live 10 minutes away. Could they have not called to tell us of the incident? Really! Do the animals that you take care of mean nothing to you. They sure do for us! How unprofessional! Will put out the word to everyone around or who uses this business. Find something else to do! read more

I wanted to let the staff at South Paws how much I appreciated the special care that they showed our little morkie Bella.. Bella has been traumatized in her past grooming and can not be haltered while getting a cut. Bella can show her feelings pretty quickly...upon taking her into the shop and meeting Sharon she instantly showed she was ok with her. They really did a nice job and squeezed her in during a very busy time due to my wife having surgery ! We will be a client for both of our dogs in the future. read more

I dropped off my dog at 9am to get a nail trim and bath. They left my dog there until 430pm and texted me finally that she was done. Did not trim the nails which is what I mostly wanted and did not tell me that they could not trim them. So I wasted my entire day and $25. Never again will I go to this place. Don't appreciate them torturing my dog. She will never be the same. It has been hours later and still hasn't recovered. read more

My shih tzu's skin around his eyes were red and he wouldn't stop squinting as we left. After a few hours, his eyes blistered! Will never go here again. They didn't offer anything but "Sorry" after sending them pictures of my dog's blistered and bruised face. This was last year, summer 2015, I'm just now getting around to reviewing them. read more

Sharon, and the crew at Southpaws, are simply THE BEST. I am super particular with my dogs (Sharon has groomed four of them throughout the years) and I wouldn't let anyone else groom them. Not only do they do a wonderful job, they treat each dog as if it is their own and I always receive a phone call if even the slightest issue concerns them. If one of my dogs is not feeling well, they take special care to groom her/him as carefully and quickly as possible (usually within a couple of hours) so they will not be stressed. One of my dogs that had a history of seizures, had one at Southpaws. Sharon immediately called me and sat and held him, talked to him and cuddled him until I arrived. If one of my dogs is not doing well, Sharon always calls or texts to check on them after the grooming. Sharon recently took the entire staff out of state to receive Animal CPR Certification and additional first aid classes. They all passed and received their certifications. They're Awesome! read more
