I've been bringing my 1998 VW Cabrio to New Canaan Foreign Car since 2002, after the VW dealer I…read morebought it from twice failed to diagnose and repair a knocking noise from the front suspension. NCFC took care of that issue and became my first choice for regular servicing and numerous other repairs over the years. I always considered the charges fair and the service excellent. The most recent service (3/2016) included replacement of timing belt, tensioner, water pump etc. I knew this would likely be expensive so obtained quotes from other local repair shops (Norwalk - Stamford) and the VW dealer in Stamford NCFC quoted $200 more than the cheapest repair shop and $700 less than the dealer. Aside from knowing NCFC would do the job well I was happy to spend a few extra $$ to support a local business that helps pay my property taxes. Thank you Neal and everyone at New Canaan Foreign Car.

I'd used Strikers Towing Services once before for something minor and remembered they were easy to work with, so I called them again. They had someone out within 20 minutes, which was honestly faster than I expected given where I was stuck. Local towing rates in Stamford aren't exactly bargain territory, but what they quoted me was straightforward, and they didn't tack on extras when I got the invoice. The driver helped me figure out the closest shop that could take the car same-day, which wasn't something I asked for but was genuinely useful. Although it was a small detail, it made a significant difference during a time when I was already stressed. For in-city towing, they're reliable and don't make a complicated situation feel worse than it already is.

Because I was rear-ended, I knew the other person's insurance company (Progressive) would pick up the full bill so I chose Natal out of the list of nearby repair shops that work with Progressive. The reviews here were a little sketchy, but they seemed to have really good marks on Google Maps so I figured I'd just show up and see how I felt about the place. I wound up talking to one of the owners, "Little Al". He's a little rough, but he's a friendly guy. Real down to earth. Reminds me of one of my uncles actually. We chatted for a while and he went through the initial estimate I got from Progressive. We took a look at the vehicle together and he gave me a realistic time-frame for getting the repairs done. When everything was said and done, the bill was just under $3500 worth of damage, but when I showed up and looked at the car, you'd never know it was wrecked. The paint match is great, it looks like new, and everything works the way it's supposed to. What more can you ask for? They even got the car back to me two days earlier than they'd estimated. I felt like they got it all done pretty quick, especially since they had it over the 4th of July holiday weekend. The only thing that threw me a bit is that one of the guys working in the shop had tried to move my old bumper stickers from the bent and dented lift-gate to the new one they painted and installed. It didn't take as well as they probably hoped and I went ahead and just pulled them off. "A" for effort though. I went back a few weeks later to get my Safety and Emissions testing done. I wish I'd realized it was expiring. I could have saved myself a trip if I'd had them do that while they had the car. That being said, I showed up at 8:25 and about 20 minutes later I was driving down the road. The service was fast. The mechanics apparently don't like EDM, though. They turned the radio off. LOL.
