On Monday, I submitted a project request on Yelp for a residential electrician to convert a normal…read morereceptacle to a dedicated 20amp receptacle for a sauna that has yet to arrive. A few companies responded. One company was booked until September while another company declined. A third company was able to show up the same day to measure and provide an estimate. MacVane Electrical was the fourth company to reply but was the quickest to provide an estimate after I texted pictures of the circuit boxes as well as an approximate distance. I was hesitant due to lack of online reviews. Phil (Sr.) quickly responded in the same evening with an estimate as well as a commitment to show up the next day to do the work. Phil (Jr) arrived the next day (Tuesday) as promised along with Ray, and both got the work done in about 2 hours. Both are super nice guys. Turns out Phil and his father started the company just 6 months ago, hence there are few to no reviews online. They are friendly, clean, and thoroughly explained the work that needed to be done. Phil Jr was so thorough that after he finished and left, he called the sauna company to verify the type of plug the sauna required. He then came back an hour or so later to replace the receptacle to the correct type. I highly recommend MacVane Electrical Services for your residential needs and will be using Phil and his company in the future.

We hired Kevin St. Lawrence at the recommendation of our plumbing and remodeling contractor, W. B…read more Dickenson to rewire our total master bathroom remodel. He worked with the other contractors to rough out the wiring before the sheetrock was installed and came back at the end to install the lighting and outlets. We arranged with him to stay after finishing the bathroom to take care of a to-do list of electrical issues that had been nagging us, including: rewiring a toe-kick heater in the kitchen to take it off the basement light circuit, diagnose and fix dead CFGI outlets and a xenon under-cabinet light (dead transformer) in the kitchen, added a basement light in the basement workshop, removed unwanted basement outlets, added two ceiling four outlet gang boxes in the workshop for drop-down power for tools and tool chargers. I had a collection of electrical parts and romex that I intended to use myself, and he used what he could so he wouldn't have to charge me, and even gave me credit for some of my unused parts that he could use on other jobs that I offered to him for free. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and offered suggestions for improving on my own thoughts. He even took care of a few minor things like a cracked gang switch plate, missing screws, and a hanging gang switch plate cover in the workshop. We will be using him again in the future when we install a whole house generator and replace the breaker box to protect linemen from back-feeding the grid.

Kevin is honestly the best electrician I have ever hired. I've only ever hired one other guy, but…read moreI'll tell you what, I don't even remember the name of his business, and I certainly didn't bother to leave him a review. I mean, the other guy was good; he did what I hired him to do. No complaints. But Kevin, damn. Kevin is incredible. I don't know how to explain it. Just hire him for something electricity-related, and you'll see what I'm talking about. The guy is a master. Actually, I think he literally is a Master Electrician. He really knows his wires. Kevin installed six new recessed can lights in a room in my 1860 farm house. Before Kevin's handy work, the room was dark and depressing. No one ever wanted to be in there. You just felt lonely and sad in there. But now, with the new lighting Kevin installed, when you're in that room, you feel like a happy daisy in the middle of a warm, sunny Spring day. But only if the lights are turned on. | Hire Kevin for all your electrical needs. You won't be disappointed.

I recently had a very positive experience with Silver City Electric. There were a number of outlets…read morein our kitchen that weren't working properly. Kevin returned my call very promptly when I reached out. Since he was already working in town, he was able to swing by the same day. After explaining my issue, Kevin got to work diagnosing the problem. He found the culprit, a poorly wired outlet, within a matter of minutes. Kevin rewired the outlet correctly, installed a new outlet and ensured it was flush mounted; previously, it had not been. He stayed around for a bit and ensured all the other outlets worked and had the correct voltage. This repair gave us back the functionality of the majority of the outlets in our kitchen. I can't say enough about the level of service Kevin provided. He was timely, professional, personable and clean. He charged a very fair price for the work he did. I highly recommend calling him for electrical work. We plan on utilizing his services in the future.
