On Monday, I submitted a project request on Yelp for a residential electrician to convert a normal…read morereceptacle to a dedicated 20amp receptacle for a sauna that has yet to arrive. A few companies responded. One company was booked until September while another company declined. A third company was able to show up the same day to measure and provide an estimate. MacVane Electrical was the fourth company to reply but was the quickest to provide an estimate after I texted pictures of the circuit boxes as well as an approximate distance. I was hesitant due to lack of online reviews. Phil (Sr.) quickly responded in the same evening with an estimate as well as a commitment to show up the next day to do the work. Phil (Jr) arrived the next day (Tuesday) as promised along with Ray, and both got the work done in about 2 hours. Both are super nice guys. Turns out Phil and his father started the company just 6 months ago, hence there are few to no reviews online. They are friendly, clean, and thoroughly explained the work that needed to be done. Phil Jr was so thorough that after he finished and left, he called the sauna company to verify the type of plug the sauna required. He then came back an hour or so later to replace the receptacle to the correct type. I highly recommend MacVane Electrical Services for your residential needs and will be using Phil and his company in the future.

I'd hate to post a negative review, but I want to share my honest experience. Our AC system stopped…read moreworking on a very hot day, and our regular technician was unavailable, so we turned to Yelp, whereby Sabit contacted us. He came late that evening and was attentive and accommodating in trying to address the problem temporarily. He returned the next day and spent the entire day working on the unit, although it was never clear why the repair was taking so long. Unfortunately, the problem was not properly resolved. He covered the entire unit with black tape to reduce the leaking, but another technician later told us that the actual issue was the drainage, which had not been addressed. Sabit said he would return to finish the job, but repeatedly failed to show up. Several times, he said he would come that day and simply never appeared or contacted us. Weeks later, he reached out saying he was available again and explained that he had been dealing with personal issues. We understand that personal circumstances happen, but the lack of communication was very frustrating. We were charged for work that was ultimately not completed and the problem was not resolved. He also left tools behind, and after his visit, we noticed that a new air filter we had stored in the attic was missing. Overall, our experience was unreliable and unprofessional, both in the quality of the work and the communication. Based on our experience, we would not recommend hiring this company.

And when he left, you would not have known he was ever here - left the place cleaner than he found it. I found Ziam to be empathetic and understanding as well as helpful.
