I can't say enough good things about A-Top Chimney services-they certainly are!…read moreI have used A-Top for a number of years to clean what used to be my fireplace which is now a fireplace insert. I was always impressed with the quality of the cleaning and the fact that if they came out, decided the unit did not need cleaning they told me that and didn't charge me. I recently had A-Top come out to repoint the outside chimney which absolutely needed it. The mortar i between the bricks was eroding. The owner, Bill Soule, came out with some workers and cleaned, repointed and improved some of the problem areas. They did an excellent job and Bill was great telling me exactly what was being done. To my mind that quality speaks for itself!

The Hearth Doctor had one job: install a fireplace. They failed at every turn…read more They claim they went "above and beyond." The photos show otherwise. We've owned and renovated three homes, and this was by far the worst experience we've ever had with any company. We hired Hearth Doctor to install a Renaissance 600 fireplace--a pricey, complex unit--and they botched it from start to finish. Safety ignored: They skipped a required radiation shield and told me to stuff insulation against the chimney pipe--an outright fire hazard. Only after I contacted the manufacturer did they reluctantly fix it, which meant removing a chimney already mounted two stories up. Timeline blown: A 2-day job dragged into 3.5 months, with constant delays and misinformation to my contractor. Poor workmanship: They mis-measured, forced rebuilds, denied necessary vents (later confirmed essential by the manufacturer), installed the unit with a broken door, then crudely bent the keyhole instead of replacing it. Finally, the fireplace was left visibly off-level, making finishing work nearly impossible. No accountability: Across six visits between June and September, I never received an apology. When I asked for a discount, they brushed me off, insisting they'd provided a "safe, functional, professional installation" that went "above and beyond" If this is their idea of "above and beyond," I shudder to think what "average" looks like. Bottom line: unsafe, sloppy, unprofessional. Save yourself the grief--do not hire this company.

He helped us figure out the best layout for our property, answered all of our questions, and really cared about making sure we ended up with exactly what we wanted. He's extremely knowledgeable and professional, but also funny, friendly, and just really easy to work with. Chris was booking a few months out when we first reached out, but I can confidently say our fence was worth the wait. The materials are high quality, reasonable pricing, the attention to detail is excellent, and everything was done with both function and appearance in mind. You can tell Chris takes a lot of pride in his work and stands behind what he installs. His crew also worked incredibly hard through some seriously hot summer days, and we really appreciated the care they put into everything. My husband and I absolutely love how the fence turned out and our two dogs may be even happier than we are! If you're looking for a local fence company that does quality work, pays attention to the details, and genuinely wants you to be happy with the finished product, I can't recommend Penney Fence enough. We're so glad we went with them!

Installed the wrong size (too short) and didn't complete the job yet demanded payment of $3100. They told my tenant to call an electrician to finish the job. Electrician charged $750 and left a conduit connection hanging from the ceiling to the top of the hotwater heater which was too short to connect to the wall where the previous one had been. Also did not provide any paperwork or instruction manual and I had to contact the business repeatedly so I could register it for warranty. The manufacturer also required them to fill out a form which they hadn't done. i did get them to honor the quote of the outrageous price of $3000 and deduct the $750 for the electrician because I hadn't paid them yet. Found them dishonest - especially by adding that extra $100!
