Yes, I know my water heater is leaking, thanks. They ghosted me, so I wasted no time and tried calling Hilltop. Steve came out the very next day to take a look, and there was no charge. On the spot, he got on the horn with Lisa and they priced out a new one, and sent me the estimate and invoice for a deposit. Rich and his team of three came out the following day and completed the job in under an hour. Clean and professional work! What really impressed me, was that after I had written them a cheque and they left, Lisa called me back not long after, apologizing for overcharging me! They corrected the invoice and so I was not overcharged. Honesty says a lot about people who run a business. Great team. Definitely working with them again.

I told Bill, the office coordinator, that we have three indoor units and one outdoor unit (the condenser). He said that the total would be $385, but since I'm a new customer there would be a $100 discount, making the total $285 - his words. I agreed to these terms. At no time during our conversation was a figure of $485 uttered by him, something I would not have accepted, even with the discount. And yet, the invoice that I received two days after service completion (about 2 hours' work by one technician) asked for $485 minus the $100 discount, plus a fuel surcharge of $7.50. I called to complain that this was not the agreed-upon amount, but Bill simply denied having made that offer. But I know what I heard him clearly say. Lesson learned - never accept an unwritten quote! The work done was underwhelming - acceptable, but more or less perfunctory without much oral communication about the state of the system. I would recommend anyone needing this service to shop around and get everything in writing before agreeing to the terms. I will not be a continuing customer.

The guy started the project, but then found that in order to complete it I had to bring my electrical wiring up to code. He was very apologetic, but obviously it wasn't his fault. No complaints there. He left me with clear instructions to give to the electricians, and told me to call him back when that work was complete. When called to complete the job, they were able to get the same guy back to my house within a couple days. The must be a smallish outfit, because I got bumped for a few hours because he had to go deal with a gas leak somewhere else, but they notified me of it, and frankly, that sounds more important than my dishwasher... He finished the project quickly and gave me some advice on ways to improve some plumbing issues I was having on my own. Rates seem quite reasonable. I'll use them again.

Recently the drain started to leak I called 5 times with no call backs. I even told them they were the ones to install the drain. Bob Morrell took…read moreadvantage of a single woman 10 years ago and talked me into a boiler and a separate water heater which he told me was "more efficient." It was most definitely NOT more efficient as every time I use a drop of hot water, the furnace goes on. I've had no choice but to live with it. Now, twice in the last 18 months, I've had to replace the aquastat well. The last technician insisted that someone removed the anode rod that is supposed to be in the water heater to keep the well from corroding. He tried to blame it on everyone but Atlantic Heating, even though no one else has touched the water heater in 10 years. When the water heater was installed, no one at Atlantic Heating bothered to check and make sure the rod was in the tank. The water heater company Laars agreed to replace the defective water heater, but Atlantic Heating wants me to pay THEM thousands of dollars to install the new water heater. They screwed up the installation and now expect me to pay them AGAIN. I'd rather pay another company $10,000 for a whole new furnace with a tankless water heater than give another dime to Atlantic Heating. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from Atlantic Heating as possible. They'll make YOU pay for their mistakes.

DO NOT USE Follow up- I called Jeff twice only and the other number was his cell number (how would I have that if he did not do work with me before), I wasn't sure if it was the same person which is why there was a second call. He was also very rude about that and was being condescending. So long story short the well line from our old farm house to the well that's about 300 feet away…read moreand very old finally went. American Mechanical & Plumbing was recommended by someone on a local community Facebook page so I contacted him by phone. He was very easy to talk to and he confirmed my suspicions about the old well line being no good. He recommended trying to lay a temporary poly line above ground but given the distance and grade it just wouldn't work but it wasn't from lack of trying. Jeff and his partner tried for a few hours with no luck and then only charged us for the fittings. Fast forward a week and we had another great guy doing all the excavation and he and Jeff linked up and came up with a plan to get water back on. Excavation guy did his thing and then this morning (July 12th) he showed up and had everything connected and water flowing in two hours. He came up with the idea to ditch our old shallow well jet pump and put a pump in the well with a 20 gallon pressure tank in our basement. What an upgrade. We really can't recommend him enough.
