I have no expectations that this review will turn a light on for anyone, or change behavior, or…read moresales practices. But perhaps it will. I've been saving for a new washer/dryer for about a year now. I've had positive and good experiences with Appliance Warehouse before, so I went back. I had my sites set on a specific stacked unit but the salesman was easily able to convince me otherwise, in that, if one part blew the whole thing was lost. So it was easy to change my mind about buying the washer/dryer as separate units instead. We discussed the height of the stacked units and would that be a challenge for me. No big deal. The additional space I'd gain was worth standing on my toes. The entire process was not without commentary about "the Chinese taking American jobs, Ukrainians trying to scam us, and even his wife who apparently doesn't load the dishwasher correctly". Did he think he was in the company of someone with similar ideologies? I was here to buy appliances, not discuss the global impact of capitalism. And for the record, I believe every human, void of territorial boundaries, deserves the right to work, earn an income, and care for their families. Fast forward to delivery of goods. All went well until it was discovered the cables and hoses weren't going to be long enough given the desired placement. I had already put out $600 to move the plumbing for this renovation job, so yes, I wanted it where I wanted it. These specs should have been part of the sales process, those specific questions should have been addressed then-how big is the room, where are the outlets, where is the access point for the drain and inlet hoses? If I had known I needed something other than the standard sizes, I would have been prepared, as I had a very limited window of time for this project. I'm an expert in my own field and I did expect expert level inquiry from someone in the appliance field. My bad. Do you ever just want something to go your way? The delivery guys left (a trail of mud through my house along with a puddle of water from a dripping hose-but it's March in Maine and I can't exactly fault them for that-it's just one more mess for this overworked teacher to clean up) and advised me to just buy new stuff on Amazon. Ok. What? What do I need? What's the amperage and voltage needs? Will the warranty still be in effect? Will you be coming back to do the installation? Instead of making a phone call, I opted to go back to the store. While there, we reviewed the final fees, subtracted out removal fees, added the stacking fees and I requested additional credit, given that the units I had just bought days before, had now gone on sale. That took some of the sting away. But. I'm still left with two heavy stacked appliances in the middle of my 6' x 6' room that I now need to install, move, and level myself? Can I? Yes. Is it frustrating to me that I have to? Also yes. First world American problem? Indeed. So, my new cables and hoses will arrive next week...from China. In the meantime I guess I will be tripping over my tool boxes and other laundry room detritus until I can take a break from teaching my liberal college agenda, to finish the work a man said they'd do.

Our refigerator stopped working, but I was able to defrost it and limp along for a bit. After…read moreshopping several appliance stores in the Portland, ME area, we went to Appliance Warehouse. What they lack as far as a showroom is concerned (it is named warehouse after all) they more than made up for with their service and visibility into fridge availability. It was easy to find out what makes and models they had access to. They had enough inventory where you could see some vital aspects of what you wanted to order (color of stainless steel, quality of drawers, etc.) What really stood out though was their flexibility in ordering and visibility into the supply chain logistics that affect all of the stores in the region. We had to wait, that was going to be clear, but AW gave us options on ordering and early alerts on when things started moving, so that we got our ideal fridge WEEKS before other stores had indicated. With 1 year interest free financing, approved on the spot, I really couldn't have had things go any better. If you know what you are looking for, given them a try. They deliberately do not stock or sell all makes/models due to some being problematic in some way...so if they don't carry what you are looking for, you might consider looking for something that AW does carry. They were very good!

Suggest not using LP appliance out of westbrook…read more.. I go in Monday. Pick out the dishwasher and he says they will come out Wednesday to install. he says they will give me a call. Come wednesday, I wait til about 11 am (after they open at 9) today and call. He says yup we've got you on the schedule for sometime this afternoon. I wait and call back at 3:15pm (because they close at 4) and say hey I'm just checking on that install since I know you close at 4. He says "did you call mark?" I'm like I wasn't given marks info. I haven't heard anything since I called this morning. He said "he will leave a note. Mark should be back around 4/4:30." i vocalize that i stayed home specifically today because i was told the install would be today and am gone thursday, friday and all next week. I call back 3:55 to get marks number and of course go to voice-mail. "Closed for the day". I'll just go somewhere else at this point. I then get a voice-mail the next morning from Ryan "The is Ryan from LP appliance, give me a call when you get the chance. I'm sorry about yesterday but it sounds like you'll be happy to go someplace else. I saw your little display on Facebook (meaning my factual review of this experience) on Facebook. Give me a call. " I don't know about you but the passive aggressiveness is seeping out of that voice-mail and I think I will do business elsewhere

I stopped by to inquire about having a reversing valve in my Whynter heat pump (portable ac unit with heat) and as I had already done the troubleshooting and identified that the reversing valve is the problem and this unit uses the same universal reversing valve found in many hvac units. I found the exact part on Amazon for $12.95. They said they don't know if they can source the part. Really? I just finished telling you boomers that I already identified the part and it is a fairly universal part. I was perfectly willing to pay a few hundred for the part to be replaced as I no longer have torches for brazing nor AC gauges to charge it properly. Good grief. Stop complaining about Amazon if you are turning away business, especially where you have an engineer who already identified not only what is wrong, but that this particular model doesn't even use a universal part. If I had the torches, goggles, a vacuum pump, and the gauges, I would repair it myself. Why are you turning away what would have been an extremely easy job and a quick couple hundred bucks in pure profit? What the heck is wrong with brick and mortars today? Y'all don't want to work anymore.

The refrigerator that I purchased from them 10 years ago broke down and I called them to schedule a service call. They said it would be 6 weeks!!!! What do you do for 6 weeks without a refrigerator. I purchased these appliances from Agren because they claim they will service them. Again, I say they couldn't send someone out for 6 weeks! I called another local company and they fit me in the very next day. I will never again purchase an appliance from Agren. NEVER! Also, I had an issue with the ice maker on said refrigerator about a year after I purchased it and a burner on a gas stove I also purchased from them (over 5K for these two appliances). These appliances sit side by side and when I called to make a service call for both them they said that I would have to book and pay for two separate service calls. COME ON! Is this how you treat a loyal customer? In the last year I purchased a front loading washer and dryer. The dryer just doesn't dry clothes. I called them immediately to come take a look and the service technician simply told me to read the manual and that the dryer was fine. Didn't show me how it worked just told me to read. I read the manual before calling and long story short he was no help and the dryer still struggles to dry a load of laundry (already checked other factors like the vent etc). Overall POOR service once you have made the purchase and have the appliance. Great before that point. I will NEVER buy another appliance from them again!!!!!!!!!! I have already needed more and have purchased from other stores.

The appliances I purchased a few months ago (a dishwasher and a fridge) are holding up fine. The showroom is large and I was greeted quickly by James. Everyone else was silent, so I wonder if they "take turns" with customers walking through the door. In any case he was really friendly and patient with me, answered questions, and did not ever try to upsell me on anything, and was honest about models in/out of stock and the delays due to the supply chain. The appliances were delivered on different days. The two guys that brought the fridge apparently had a rough day and were delayed by a few hours. When they were removing my old fridge they yanked out the water line that was going to the drink dispenser without turning the water off and water momentarily sprayed everywhere. When they finally got the fridge inside they did NOT install the water line claiming "I feel uncomfortable installing this line to this attachment, [something about the connectors under the sink being complicated]." so they literally just left it unfinished. Fortunately, Andy (who delivered and installed the dishwasher a week later), took a look and after I mentioned it to him suggested "it doesn't look that hard, I can guarantee you they just didn't want to do it." but he went above and beyond by personally coming back a couple days later with the appropriate parts and hooked everything up for me in minutes. I'd love to give him five stars just for his effort alone. Hopefully nothing goes wrong with the appliances. Based on the lax fridge guys and based on other reviews it seems like a headache. I have no other appliance stores to compare this experience to, but I imagine it is average.
