Service requested: Non-Emergency. We asked for a delivery on a Monday and had it by Tuesday. I was also able to schedule a furnace cleaning for the Wed with no issues. The Tech they sent out was there at exactly at the earliest time given (for the window) and had my whole furnace completely cleaned out in 2 hours. So long story short, great prices, fast delivery and very competent boiler techs. Would I use them again? Absolutely no questions asked. read more

put new furnace in 2018 , three blowers right out of the box . The furnace has always been loud . The furnace was last cleaned in May 2025 and we have it serviced yearly . The prices are high , slow response time . The oil prices are not competitive going with smaller local company over with the last two years . I hired during Covid to get new oil ltank and furnace . One coldish winter morning we woke up and wondered, why is our house colder than usual? I like to keep the temp around 60... well it was about 50 and our heat had gone out in the night. When you live in Maine, this is the last thing you want. So I called Atlantic to our rescue and started a large, hot fire in the wood burning stove. They said they would get to us by mid afternoon, but about 45 mins later I heard a knock on the door. Our tech, whose nickname was Sprinkles, quickly got to work and realized about 3 parts that tend to fail over time, would need to be replaced. He worked for about 2.5 hours to get our boiler back up and running and viola, hot water was running again through our pipes! This type of prompt service when people really need help is the sign of good Maine business. Even though they will try to get you to buy oil from them (which we don't because we use bio fuel) they still make sure to make you feel like valued customers. Thanks Atlantic! read more

We are new to New England and new to the radiators! Althantic Heating Company has been amazing, kind, and gracious since day one! When we needed to have the tank filled they were there for us within 24 hours! When they come to fill the tank they offer amazing advice on efficiently warming the house with the radiators. Whenever there is a problem, they are there. Even when they are closed they still show up! Something happened to our furnace over the night and they are there ready to help us! I called Atlantic Heating this morning when I realized we were almost out of oil. I was very worried because a monster storm is coming and I did not want to run out in the middle of a storm. I have been a loyal customer of Atlantic Heating for over 25 years and have always been happy with their customer service until today. A month ago, I planned ahead to schedule a yearly oil burner cleaning. I was told the latest appointment I could get for this service would be at 1:00pm. I made arrangements to get out of work early to have this done. The day before my appointment the receptionist Sue called me to confirm the appointment reminding me the service techs would be there between 1:00pm and 1:30 pm. The day of the appointment at 2:00pm I received a call from Sue stating one of the technicians had called out and they would not be coming out to clean my furnace. If a tech had called out, why couldn't they have let me know earlier so I wouldn't have to miss work? Although I was not happy with this, I considered rescheduling if they would agree to do the cleaning when I got out of work at 3:30pm the following week. The receptionist said no and stated the latest they would do a oil burner cleaning would be 1:00pm. Since they would not work with me regarding the time, I said I would have to find someone else. They said that's fine. Needless to say, I believe this is poor customer service from the office staff. Oh well live and learn. I read more

Absolutely worst customer service. If you run out of oil, do NOT get it from Atlantic. They will make you feel like it's your fault, will not come out on the weekend, and once they finally get around to coming out and turning the burner back on they WILL NOT do it properly, continue to give you attitude, and also charge you. I understand you're not taking on new customers, and the cold is brutal. However, when I called to seek some advice the receptionist was beyond rude. I even tried to ask for a referral or if they knew anyone that could help me with my furnace and her response was "I already said we are not taking new customers and I can't help you." A little compassion goes a long way for someone who is already stressed out and struggling. Maybe you should retrain your receptionist on what customer service is. Even if you were taking customers because of her I would take my business elsewhere. read more

We have been buying oil from Atlantic Heating for a couple of years. A person always answers the phone (no navigating endless phone bots) and the oil is delivered as scheduled. Then we found an oil spot under our oil tank. I called to see if someone could come and check it out. Because of a big snowstorm, they were late for the scheduled appointment, and they called to see if it could be rescheduled. When I said I was concerned about a spot of oil under the oil tank, a technician was at my house within 20 minutes. It was quite clear that we needed a tank replacement. Because we were almost out of oil, they agreed to deliver some to get us by and to pump it very slowly to not rupture the tank. I spoke to the owner himself to make sure this would be possible. A couple of days later the owner came out to give me a quote for a new oil tank, and for a whole new heating system. The quote was delivered by email within hours and was very reasonable. They were able to schedule installation within the week, and in a time frame that he calculated I would not need any more oil delivered. The crew showed up promptly at 8 am on the day of installation. The crew were a well oiled machine (no pun intended!). They did the job quickly and professionally. It was quite clear that these guys are used to working with each other and enjoy working together. The owner himself was onsite to supervise the installation and has a good relationship with his workers. When they were done, they did a great job cleaning up. There was not one speck of spilled oil on my basement floor; they had managed to remove that tank and cut it in half, and then remove the oil and sludge without spilling any on the basement floor. Installation of a new oil tank, water tank, and furnace and clean up was done by midafternoon. I am very happy with Atlantic Heating's service and professionalism. Highly recommended! read more

Complete rip off. Quoted $400 for a filter install in water system. Nothing was sent in writing with agreement being verbal only over the phone. Filter is a $40 filter with $20 hardware that took less than an hour to install. Refused to lower price and didn't care when I said last time I would do business with them. ATTITUDE!!! I had a plumbing issue - a clogged sink - and didn't appreciate being laughed at by Bill. I think he thought it was someone he knew playing a joke on him, but it was serious. Then he asked who I used for my oil delivery and told me that they only service their oil customers for plumbing and heating issues. I had my furnace serviced by the original company called Steinert and I had no problems. I called Atlantic Heating who have taken over Steinert because my furnace wasn't working. They told me that the electronics that I had replaced in January blew out because of my generator. I was skeptical since my generator plug is wired into my service panel. They replaced the electronics again and gave me a discounted price of $300+. Then I realize that my furnace isn't heating my water. So I call them back. They "fix" my furnace and then I find I have no heat. I call them back. They "fix" my furnace. Come to find out they improperly wired the electronics.This was going on for a week. Now they've send me a bill for a couple hundred more dollars. I'm through with this company. read more

On a recent service call, a representative of this company showed up and started quoting numerous items our furnace "needed" to have repaired. His attitude was suspicious from the beginning. Our furnace has been serviced by others regularly and is generally known to be in good shape. When questioned about the prices and parts he was claiming it needed, he would not supply part numbers (or even names). He ended up saying "We don't want to deal with any customers who would look up a price of a part on the internet". What does that tell you? They only want to work for people who don't protect themselves apparently. Also, it seemed like he was trying to just railroad my wife who happened to be home communicating with him that day. Eventually, we he started to become belligerent, I told her to just pay him for only the work he'd already done and get him out. His quote for a "transformer" he claimed we need was $282. We ended up paying $182 for what he wrote as "clean burner only" on the receipt. I suspect we overpaid even for that. read more

We had been searching for a Heating and Plumbing company to convert our oil furnace and electric water heater to natural gas. We received quotes from 3 vendors but were not comfortable with their solutions for venting the heaters. The recommendations were to vent both directly to the outdoors via two new access ports. This would have required drilling through the granite foundation of our 138 year old house and installing at least 2 foot high PVC pipe on the outside of the house, creating an eyesore. I was looking for both an aesthetically pleasing and minimally invasive solution. We were becoming very frustrated but really wanted to convert to natural gas. I was talking with my neighbor who suggested Atlantic Heating. I called them the next day; they scheduled a time to meet with me that week, listened to my needs, and presented a quote within a week. The solution was to use the existing chimney to vent the water heater and the access for the oil fill pipe could be used to run the vent pipe for the furnace. Luckily the chimney has a stainless steel liner. On the scheduled day, they arrived promptly at 7:30 am with a crew of 5, including the owner. They completed the installation, removal of the old heaters and oil tank and all cleanup by 1:00 pm. They took care of coordinating with Summit Natural Gas company. I had some random plumbing questions and one of the technicians stayed behind to answer my questions and provide helpful recommendations. I highly recommend Atlantic Heating and Plumbing. I will be using them again. read more

After buying my house, I continued to use the company the first and only owner used to service the boiler. He is customer 78 of the company. I used them to maintain the boiler, both on a preventative and corrective basis. They were wonderful! Super friendly, willing to explain what they were doing, prompt. Then my boiler broke and when I called on a weekend in the middle of a snowstorm I was informed that because I saved $20 a year by using another oil company, I was not eligible for emergency service, as I was not their oil customer. If that is what constitutes customer service, I will definitely be looking elsewhere. You should too. If they are unwilling to help an account that has been in existence for that long, can you imagine how they treat new customers? I sure wouldn't want to be the one to find out. read more
