I called several times to ask when he was coming and he kept putting me off with lies. Now he has blocked me. I would advice you not to trust him. I was extremely disappointed in the job that was done for me. The guy who has mowed my yard for…read morethe last ten years stated that the Bermuda sod was not even a pallet. I also found where you can purchase sod for $150 per pallet. I was charged 800 dollars for supposedly two pallets and 300 to lay the sod. Also, I had to pay him as I was going out of town from where my Mother died and he promised to purchase a water hose and sprinkler compliments of him and water the yard. When I arrived home four days later, no water hose, no sprinkler and the sod is almost dead. I have watered the sod every single day and not sure it is going to even live. I was in the hospital for seven days and he did the yard the day before I got out of the hospital, which I told him getting out the next day. He flat out lied to me about the water hose, sprinkler and watering what he had done. I would not recommend him to a single person. I am almost 65 and feel like I have been totally ripped off. I hired him without checking any references. He did do the job within the time he stated he would, which is more than Southland Landscaping Company did. Southland promised me for three months to do the yard and gave me a quote of $450, but he came up with every excuse in the world and lied to me constantly. It is a real shame that landscape companies take advantage of elderly women. I accept responsibility because I was overly anxious and did not check him out, but never again. This has been an extremely big disappointment. My goodness are there no landscape companies in Gwinnett County who is honest and will perform the job and not lie to an elderly woman. I was totally shocked when I started looking at the prices of sod how I was ripped off. I do not care how many organizations he is signed up to, check out references and do not pay this company unless he does the job as promised and make sure you do not make the same mistake I made so that you will not get ripped off. You are more than welcome to come and see how much sod is put down and what the sod looks like. I water every single day and just pray that the amount of sod in the yard lives. He was supposed to cover all the bare spots, but that did not get done either. I have taken numerous pictures. I would give him no stars if that was an option other than he did the work with the four days as promised. The rest I totally regret having him do the job because it is truly a horrible job. Please feel free to come by and discuss with me and see the job if you want to see a reference for yourself instead of trusting someone else to give you a reference. I strongly believe he had no intention of purchasing a water hose, sprinkler and watering since I had to drive out of town for my Mother's funeral. I was referred to Green Grass Pro and its owner, Jay Cohen, by another reputable local business…read moreowner (Lee Tuck of Summit Fence) who was working on my property. Lee told me that we needed the front of our yard to be graded and re-sod before they could complete our new fence. I also wanted our foot path to be re-done, as it had been thrown together with cheap materials (gravel, mainly) by a prior contractor. Knowing Lee to be an honest and knowledgeable guy, I followed his recommendation, and I'm glad I did. Jay is meticulous, honest, and very communicative. We ran into a number of problems - apparently our land had been used as a dumping ground for other contractors who worked in the neighborhood over the past several decades, with rocks all over the place (not just the surface boulders that had been used in the landscaping when we bought it). While the yard was being raked out, I saw brick after brick being raked up by the workers. Ultimately and unfortunately, Jay had to take more than three loads of dirt, rocks, and other detritus to the dump. Jay has top notch workers and independent contractors - a mason who put together a wonderful looking path, an excavator who finessed his heavy machinery like a ballerina around our fence posts, guys who fit in sod like a jigsaw puzzle, carefully avoiding our new fence gate's track. Along with that, when a slow leak in our water main was discovered, he had an expert plumber on speed dial who showed up later that same day and replaced the aging pipes with something modern, along with an underground faucet easily accessible under a panel in our path. If anything, I would say that Jay is so collaborative in his approach that it may be misinterpreted as "forgetful," as another reviewer put it. He's a perfectionist who will triple check how things are going - in my opinion, the success of a project is never forgotten for him, but instead is a preoccupation for him until he feels assured that it's achieved. If you want someone who will show up, do what they say, and let you know exactly what to expect, go with Green Grass Pro.

Personal Touch Lawn Care completed an overhaul of our front and back yard this summer. This 5 star…read morereview does come with a couple of caveats. The project required replacing a 100 X 4 ft retaining wall, grading our front and back yard, installing irrigation, sod and a fence. In addition, their crew installed an 800 sq ft area of pavers for us to finish our backyard space. There's no question that the crew that does their retaining walls and pavers work is hands down the best around. We are so appreciative of the work that Chealo and his crew did. They were precise, diligent, hardworking and clean. We were so impressed by how clean they left the job site each day. Our new patio and wall make for a beautiful backdrop to our new outdoor living space. The grading project was a large undertaking and thanks to the Chealo's grading work, we now have a backyard our kids can run around in and enjoy. During the project, they were typically easy to get a hold of if there were issues (and there were many issues over the month long project). Our main issue was that we were severely underbid on dirt for grading and the sod. Fortunately, we acquired our own dirt and saved ourselves almost 10,000. The initial quote was for 8 truckloads of dirt at $3,900. We ended up needing 23 truckloads of dirt. We also had to come out of pocket for more sod and modules for the retaining wall. In the end, this increased our project budget by almost 15%. The underbidding of the sod meant our sod didn't all get laid at the same time and therefore hasn't looked as we would have liked from the start (color differences and demarcation where the sod was laid in phases). Its slowly coming together two months later. All in all, we had a great experience working with Casey and Keith. We would recommend Personal Touch but, we would suggest making sure you leave some wiggle room in your budget for unexpected expenses. We are just about 8 weeks post completion of the project and Casey still reaches out to check in on how things are coming along with the new sod. It's nice to see that even after they are done, they are still accessible and willing to take your calls. Thank you to Personal Touch Lawn Care for all of your hard work!

Their pricing was clearly the best of several bids. The trees were all in tight quarters and had to be roped out. They were particularly careful protecting certain areas with important plants or smaller trees. There was minimal damage and less than would be expected for a job of this size. The salesman and project manager were often on site during the work, but the 6 man crew was more than capable on their own. They had the necessary equipment to move quickly and efficiently. After the log truck came a few days later they came back to clean up the mess. If you have major tree work to do you should get a proposal from Tree Time before you decide.
