In October 2014 I was having trouble training my lab pup. I found Southern Hill Kennels online and emailed them. They responded very quickly, faster than most of my family and friends. I visited the kennels and was impressed by the facilities being clean and keeping them out of the sun. The next week I brought my pup in for his training. I would make weekly visits and talk with the trainer weekly via text about my pups progress. While on a visit I noticed that he They had put up some tarps along the sides and they said that is to protect the dogs from the winter winds. This made me feel better as after all this is my dog I am leaving with him. I received a phone call one month ahead of time saying that my dog was ready. This was great to hear. When I arrived Jackson was in great shape, well trained, and Brent spent about an hour going over what he had done, where I should pick up when I got home and said that if I needed questions to give him a call. If I ever need another dog trained, boarded or just a question in helping with Jackson's training I will definitely be giving these guys a call. read more

I have been a pet/dog owner for several years. I bought one of the best dogs I have ever had from Southern Hills Kennel, an English Setter...named Mo, and find the review by this young woman quite offensive and completely outrageous!! If anyone has ever been to this kennel, they would know how completely ridiculous those allegations are. Brent, the owner/trainer of the kennel, is a very experienced, pet loving, and all around great guy!! He trained my dog, which I thought was gonna be impossible, which also required boarding him for a month. When I picked my baby dog up, a month later, he was in great condition, had FINALLY put on about 15 pounds, was TRAINED WELL, and was a very happy boy. The kennel was always clean, the dogs have large runs, plenty of food and water, and....most of all....HAVE TONS OF SHADE and also water misters. They are very well cared for PERIOD!! And I would HIGHLY recommend this kennel to anyone! I'm sorry for the loss of any pet, but to blame this kennel or the owner, is completely outrageous and unfair. Not to mention UNtrue!!! read more

Southern Hills Kennel came highly recommended by several different people. We have boarded our dogs there many times. Brent, the owner, has a genuine love for animals. Our pets were very well cared for and we will continue to use this boarding facility. As a matter of fact, having dealt with them as many times as we have, we now own one of his English Pointers as a pet. The kennel is always clean and the dogs are provided shade, water and attention. My granddog, TEDDY, has spent his freshman, sophomore, and junior years at the Bird Dog University and we plan on returning for our senior year in the very near future. In all seriousness, we are extremely satisfied with the care and training that Brent and Southern Hills provides.
