The other two guys were quick to clean up, they took away all of the debris, and then blew the back patio and even the driveway of any loose debris left from the palm trees. Before the move, I provided a full description of my household goods and relied on their professional assurance that the truck size would fit everything. On moving day, the truck was being filled without giving me any opportunity to decide which items should be loaded or left behind. I walked outside and saw them closing the truck while valuable items were still in my garage, forcing me to give property away on Facebook Marketplace and suffer avoidable financial loss. My belongings were stored from approximately December 6th through December 31st. When delivery occurred, the crew began unloading without any warning that my property had been damaged. Boxes were soaking wet, molded, and filled with mold. Clothes had mold all over them, furniture showed clear water damage, and many household items were contaminated and falling apart. The condition was extremely disgusting and demonstrated a lack of reasonable care. When Doug Sheffield arrived to collect the remaining payment, he did not disclose any damage until I confronted him. Only then did he admit he discovered the water damage the day the truck was unloaded into their storage unit, yet he never notified me during the 20 plus days my belongings sat there worsening. He claimed a Penske claim had been filed, but after contacting Penske myself, I learned no claim was submitted. I was left to handle the process alone while dealing with preventable loss, stress, and a clear lack of honesty and accountability. Damages were around $6k all together.
