We came to SouthEnd at the recommendation of our taste master at the distillery next door. He said the food was the best in the immediate area, it was super hot and we didn't want to walk far!! He was right though, the food was wonderful! The Poke Nachos pretty much stole the show, they were amazing! Obviously it's not "fresh" tuna but it was definitely a good grade of tuna, buttery and sweet and the nachos were loaded with it! The drizzle was just enough so the wonton chips stayed nice and crispy all the way through. Could have used more jalapenos but that's my taste, not by any means a negative point! The rest of the food was delicious as well with the cheese curds coming in a super close second to the nachos! I'm guessing the ranch is house made, it was so rich and dare I say a bit spicey (not in a hot way)?! I always like to include service in my reviews, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. There is really no service! You order drinks at the bar then food at another counter, take a number they hand you, have a seat and they'll bring everything to you. The staff was mildly friendly, no complaints, just not really 5 star service. We will definitely return for the Poke Nachos! read more

Went here for a friends birthday. The place had some cool hand painted wall art everywhere. They had some original local beers, wine, and even cocktails. The service was ok. Some of the staff were over the weekend rush and you could tell in how they interacted with the customers. We got to try some yummy drinks and their chicken wings. Which were a little over fried and messy. But overall tasty. The parmesan garlic especially was good. It seemed like it was fresh and buttery. They were coated well. I would get them again but wouldnt go out of my way. read more

Great place to hang with a group of people. Plenty of seating inside and outside. They had live music while we were there. I haven't been here in a while and it's even better than it was back then. It was always a great place to relax with friends in a friendly atmosphere without any pressure to finish up and leave. It's a wonderful "hang out and have a few drinks while catching up spot." But now they've added a much improved food menu that really has a lot of options and even some late-night eats which I'm sure is popular. They've also rounded out the drinks offerings a bit more than the last time I was here a few years ago. read more

I enjoyed the scene at SEB, with its large spread out space and picnic tables to sit at if you don't want to stay by the bar. There's also a food area and water station setup, but I didn't try the food on this occasion. The bartender was friendly and quick with the drink of choice to cool off on a hot day: blackberry cider, which I really enjoyed flavor wise! read more

Such a fun and chill spot in downtown Greensboro! There's a front outdoor patio, a huge indoor area with TVs, and an even larger back patio with shade, greenery, and comfy seating. I've been here numerous times, and each visit has been a blast. Today was their Oktoberfest and it was a total hit. Live music, brats, pretzels with beer cheese, steins, contests, vendors, you name it. The brats were fantastic, and the atmosphere absolutely rocked. There were relaxed areas for hanging out and more energetic spots with live music. On any regular day, this is already one of the best breweries in town. Today, they completely knocked it out of the park. read more

We love this spot! Not only is it family-friendly but they also have a huge outdoor back patio with picnic tables and a fun atmosphere. Their drinks are cold and served with a smile. The staff are always friendly and helpful too! For food we ordered the fried zucchini chips which were chefs kiss & the southern chicken sandwich which was scrumptious. It combined southern flavor with a fresh crisp flare! We will be back soon. Cheers! read more

We had some family in town and happened to be in the downtown area. My wife has been to this place a few times work outings, I hadn't been yet so she thought this was a good chance for me to check it out along with some family. I wasn't really in the mood for beer, so I didn't any. They definitely have a lot of choices though, and it would be pretty easy for you to find something to satisfy your taste buds. I was hungry so I decided to get some food. I went with the Philly cheesesteak. It was pretty good. I will say that I think the portion was rather small, but it was lunchtime so I'm not complaining. There were also some other menu items that caught my eye that I will have to check out next time I come, including the hot honey, chicken sandwich, and the southend nachos. Brisket on top of nachos?!?! Sign me up! There's plenty of tables around to sit at. The patio was also very nice. This is a cool spot for you to catch a game on the television and sit back and enjoy some brews. I will be coming back to check out some of the beers that they have on the menu. read more

We stopped in and ordered two drinks -- a beer and an espresso martini -- and shared the ahi tuna quinoa bowl. First off, the food itself was excellent. The tuna was fresh, flavorful, and overall the dish tasted great. My only critique is that there was hardly any quinoa. When I hear "quinoa bowl," I picture something more like a rice bowl where quinoa is the main base -- but this felt more like a salad with a small scoop of quinoa. Still good, just a little misleading name-wise. Drinks were solid, staff was nice and friendly, and service was smooth. Total came to $57.94, which felt a little pricey for what we ordered, but not outrageous for the area and waterfront location. Also worth noting: they are not pet-friendly inside, so keep that in mind if you're out with your pup. Overall -- great food and good drinks, just slightly pricey and the bowl name set different expectations. read more

It's always great vibes when I come to SouthEnd. There's nothing like a cold beer on a hot day! They have a great variety of beers to choose from as well as a full liquor bar. If you're hungry there are food options as well. This place has plenty of seating inside and out so you'll be very comfortable. The staff are very friendly each time I come. I go here every few weeks just to hang out with friends, to go to trivia, or for happy hour events. Honestly, I have a great time every time! The drinks are cheap, the food menu is maybe a bit small but has good range, and the vibes are immaculate. I usually like the poke nachos, which are not INSANE, but fresh and solid. Some other go-to dishes I get are the Brussels sprouts, maple porter brisket, and Italian fries. The outdoor seating is especially lovely with open tables and lovely lights. The service is fast and convenient, and there is a parking lot close by (about $7 for the day, last I checked). A great, solid place to bring friends or just have a chill drink on a weeknight! read more

Casual brewery/pub located in downtown Greensboro! My husband and I just wanted a quick, small bite so we met here since he loves breweries. I had the Bavarian pretzels and my husband had the maple porter brisket sandwich. The pretzels were slightly over-salted, but overall not bad. The fries that came with my husband's sandwich were really good. We weren't here for long, but the brewery was a very fun, relaxed spot. The outside is dog friendly and they had fire pits going. I just loved the overall vibe. There's no designated parking lot, but we were able to snag free parking a few streets away. There are some paid areas though. read more

I arrived here at 7:35pm on a Tuesday evening with two friends to grab some food following an event across the street. It was trivia night, so it was fairly busy. Around 7:45pm, I ordered food. I got the half pound garlic parm wings (6) and regular fries ($8). The total was $18. You must order order at the food counter and drinks at the bar. After ordering, we went outside to sit as the inside was completely full. The music was pretty loud when it was playing. I received my food at 7:53pm. The wings were perfectly cooked! I loved the crisp it had. However, the dry rub wasn't enough for me, in my opinion. I like my wing flavors bold and it wasn't. My fries were lukewarm and mixed consistently in crispiness. It was definitely overpriced. My friends got sandwiches and they highly enjoyed them. I would return to try a sandwich. They come with fries and seems more affordable. read more

SouthEnd Brewing! My person favorite place to meet people downtown for a bite and a drink, whether you have a large group or small, and no matter the dietary requirements, there is something for everyone here. I constantly recommend this place to people because it just checks so many boxes for what you might require in a gathering spot. Inside and outside, you have large seating areas, ideal for getting a group together. On a nice day, you've got outdoor seating all around. Service is bar only, and if you want to order food, there is a window to do that. The back patio is really nice when things are blooming! Across the board, the beers are enjoyable and you are bound to find one that suits your tastes. Anything from a sour to a stout, it can be found here. As far as food, for me, the best thing on the menu is the tuna nachos. Nice size portion, plenty of fish, unique flavors, will please most anyone! read more

I had a decent enough experience. The bartender was quite friendly, I want to give him his props. Parking is hard to come by. The dry rubbed boneless chicken wings and fries I had were ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. I tried a few beers, they were all fine, but nothing that was especially memorable. I do wish they would keep certain current event topics out of the brewery, but that's their choice, I guess. read more

Stopped in for brunch on Sunday, had been wanting to try the food at South End for a long time, as I've heard great things about their food from several people. Got there right as they opened, so plenty of seating to pick from. Drink orders are placed at the bar, and food ordered at places at the kitchen and brought out when ready. It's a very laid back, casual atmosphere, with colorful art on the walls. Service was friendly. The brunch menu had several tempting options, in the end I went with the brunch bowl with sausage and potatoes. It was good, and a nice sized portion, though I do wish it had more cheese, you can never go wrong with more cheese. I also got a flight of mimosas, which was flavorful, each with different juices. I think the pineapple mimosa was my favorite. We got our meals placed just in time, as yoga let out at 11, and the bar got very full instantly. So just beware of the after yoga rush on Sundays. I'll certainly try it again and see what else they have to offer. read more

Its easy to get bored with craft beers in the Mecca of brews but this place really has my attention. GREAT BEERS!! And really well done bar food. Bartenders are quick with it and knowledgable! Looking forward to coming back for tuesday trivia nights FOOD REC Tuna poke nachos - The spicy mayo works really well with mango pico. Tied together with the Crunchy texture of the Wontons and semi sweet soy glaze. Huge portion of raw ahi tuna prepared perfectly. This app is more than enough for 3-4 to share Southend cuban - perfect mix of the sharp swiss flavor and sweet pickle. Tons of flavor in the pork and smoked ham. Crisp Brioche bun to top it off. Definitely very filling but i would still get this again every single time BEER REC Down the rabbit - mango lime gose - lower abv (5%) but drinks with a lot of flavor. Heavy citrus up front with wheaty after notes. I love this for ending the night after a few IPAs Intrepid goat - in the land of 10,000 ipas this one stood out! Yes bitter hoppyness on the front end. But somehwere between piney and earthy on the backside that really breaks things up and adds some contrast to what would otherwise be your typical IPA. Refreshing both figuratively and literally. 7.7% right on the money I can drink these all night read more

Great vibe! Absolutely loved it. We went here with friends on a Friday night when they had live singing. We sat indoors, (it wasn't too packed) but the back patio seemed busy. The singer was pretty good, however I didn't pay much attention since we were busy chatting. We ordered the Tune Poke nacho (wanton) salad and the bavarian pretzels which were absolutely delicious. And for the prize I would say incredible. It filled us up and we couldn't eat anything else. Cery nice variety i must say! Southend brewery is so good! It is bar food, but a little elevated. For example, instead of nachos, they have poke nachos with fresh run, avocado, etc. I am Not a beer drinker, so I can't say anything about that. But I do like cider and they have Austin east siders on tap! Tonight it was nice weather and they had a really good cover band outside. Everything is counter service, which works well. This was my first time at SouthEnd brewing. Met my old college roommate for drinks and dinner and we grabbed the last available table, a little high top against the wall. Place was busy! We ordered beers at the bar. Menu was on the wall and there was a paper copy on the bar. I appreciated that sizes and prices were both listed. Bartender was happy to give you a taste if you weren't sure about one. I had the Mirage Gose and The Floor is Lava Wheat. Both very tasty. We started tabs at the bar and then ordered from a separate counter for food. Menu was extensive and I liked that they had gluten free offerings but I just ordered the Brussels Sprouts appetizer. It was tasty-- lots of flavor and covered with bacon. Good service, good beer, good food and great company. Overall a fun experience. read more

OMG!!! You must get there when they are open at 4 pm to get the best seat. Tap hours start at 4 pm on Monday. The kitchen opens at 5 pm We got zucchini chips, Italian fries and pretzels. I got a ginger beer they did ask if I wanted in a glass or in the bottle. That was very nice! I kept my beer in the bottle. I loved the label! Out of everything I loved the Italian fries the best!!! The soft pretzel was a little too hard for my gummies but the beer mustard was amazing . The fried zucchini chips were good too but a little too thick for my liking but the flavor was good and on the spot. The music they played was so good to listen too or bobb your head too. My first time at SouthEnd Brewing was a wonderful experience. For starters, my Mango Lime Gose--light, refreshing, and perfectly tart, with just the right balance of sweetness and citrus! For an appetizer we had the tuna poke nachos which were fresh and vibrant, with a delicious contrast of textures. The pub wings were crispy and flavorful, a great complement to the beers. But the real showstoppers were the maple porter brisket and the hot honey fried chicken sandwich--both packed with bold flavors and cooked to perfection. The maple porter brisket sandwich was tender, smoky, and rich, while the hot honey fried chicken brought the perfect combo of heat and sweetness. In summary, I will definitely be returning to Southend Brewing Company in the near future for their weekly Tuesday trivia. read more

First visit to this brewery in downtown Greensboro. Came here to try some brews and have some dinner. Ordered a flight of various beer and all were great! I had the Maple Porter Brisket sandwich (minus the egg) with a side of fries for dinner. This was a superb sammie, especially after I added some of their house, barbecue sauce to it! Unfortunately, I had to sit outside at the picnic tables in 90° heat because the inside was jampacked with people due to it being Tuesday trivia night. For that matter, the outside was also packed. I would definitely recommend and will come back myself, except it will be on another night but Tuesday. read more

This was an amazing place. I love the beer, especially the dark longer. I also went home with a pack of the Dino, Amber.

We were in town for a concert and decided to try this brewery out... it's nice looking brewery, not a huge selection but definitely a variety (from Charlotte and it's hard to compare to the ones around here). We both got ciders which were very good, the food was ok, nothing amazing. We shared the brisket sandwich with fries and the pretzels. The brisket sandwich was pretty good, could use come sort of wet sauce idk, kind of dry but The pretzels tasted like something from Sam's that you get in the frozen section, the cheese you dipped it in tastes like fair cheese or nacho cheese kind of like from Taco Bell, just didn't love it... none of the bartenders or people bringing out food were friendly. One lady was mildly ok, but everyone else acted like they hated being there and were being bothered. Again it was all just "ok" and would probably try a different one in town if ever there again. read more

A very central, cool brewery with a great vibe to go with friends, family and it's dog-friendly. It has a large indoor area and also a very pleasant outdoor area with shade on sunny days. The menu has a variety of very different beer options and also good food options. We ordered the chicken waffles, tuna tacos and boneless chicken and we didn't regret it. The food was very tasty, seasoned and in good quantity. The service was fast and the service was ok, but I didn't like having to go to the counter to order drinks and food whenever you want, but at least you have the option of opening the bill in one name and marking it down according to what you need. Some items that I think are worth mentioning: - Mothers who go with their babies should be aware that there are no changing tables in the bathroom (this is the first time I've seen this happen). - Napkins and cutlery are only available in the indoor area: I thought it was really bad having to go inside to get them in the middle of the meal. read more

A solid option for a night...or day in downtown GSO. Convenient location once you're down Lewis, all very good walking distance from Boxcar, Lewis & Elm, Bonchon. There's a good amount of beer options and variety of types, but I will say I haven't been the biggest fan of their IPAs. The recent one I ordered was supposed to be Juicy, but was very Smokey and bitter (and actually very brown). The food options were surprisingly good. It's bar food, plus some, but done pretty good. Food is seasoned perfectly and their wings are probably the crispiest I've had in a while. You order at the counter and give you a number and service was very good, even in full/hectic nights. There's indoor and plenty of outdoor seating, live music and games on certain nights. The bar area does get quite full, particularly the entrance where people don't know what to do or where to go and causes congestion at the front. read more
