This was such a great Sunday afternoon stop! We didn't know they actually have a full kitchen. The space is large with a stage and multiple seating options. The flights we ordered were great. We'll return!
Today I went to Steel Hands brewing with my wife for a lunch date. It was a great time! We ordered the Groovy Goat Pizza. It had fresh goat cheese and delicious mushrooms with olive oil sauce. It was delicious and went perfect with a nice cold beer. 100 percent recommend Steel Hands if you enjoy delicious pizza and well made beer.
The staff here was really nice! We were greeted almost immediately when we walked in. The interior set up is probably one of my favorites in Greensboro. It's very spacious and has so much seating. The beer and food were both really good. I had a couple light summery Pilsners with flavor profiles I've never really had before. The same goes for their food. They really try to go out of the box with some of their dishes and even the weird ones work pretty well! I had a cheeseburger pizza with thousand Island dressing and it was a lot better than I thought I'd be.
Came to see an event on July 4th and got to try out Bald Guys Bake Cookies, they are soooooo good! I heard they have biscotti downtown at Chandlers. Great show and pizza at the brewery! I would definitely return for another show. So glad they had the event indoors...
I enjoy this location for the local beer and also the pizza by the slice options. Always tasty and always excellent bartenders available. Beer and liqour is served here. Right across from the coliseum so it's highly convenient if you are going to a concert.
Quick service and clean bathrooms! I prefer sitting outdoors here since the smell inside the brewery often overwhelms me. It's a great space to host events as they have wide open spaces indoors and out. Also, a great spot to stop by before or after an event at the Coliseum. Their beer is tasty and they have some great wine selections as well.
The inside of steel hands is such a great space. It's so spacious and open. I love that they have wood fired ovens - the pizza was absolutely delicious. They have a good variety of pizzas, and also other food on their menu which is nice to see a brewery with a kitchen. The service was great - the bartenders were all so nice and helpful. They have a great selection of beer and a lot of flavors I've never seen before. They have liquor too, and the bartender made me a mocktail which was so good and refreshing. I love when breweries have non-alcoholic options. There's also a lot of parking and it's right near the coliseum if you want to stop by before a concert or game!
I saw the posts on social media about Nashville Thursdays, and we seized the opportunity to check out. Spacious interior and outdoor patio. They also have a one page menu, we ordered slices of pizza. The beer selection is great, and the bartenders were very friendly and efficient. Paul McDonald and the mourning doves performed, and the audience enjoyed it to the max. A lucky lady also won the two tickets to Denver (I think that was the destination if my memory serves me correctly). A wonderful overall experience and I believe they have three more Nashville Thursday shows left for this Summer.
It's been such a fun ride watching Steel Hands grow from when they opened to where they are now. With just a few items on their menu and beer only to cocktails/ciders with a vast menu including pretzels, chicken tenders, cheesesteaks, and the works, we are proud to have this brewery in Greensboro! We love how spacious both the outside and inside are. The little window outside to order from is super convenient so we don't have to go inside to order if we don't want to. They also have an entire room dedicated to merch which we have to stop in each time we visit. The staff has always been the absolute friendliest and always willing to stand and make conversation. They are definitely a part of the inviting atmosphere steel hands embodies. Their beer is some of the best I've had - during the winter they have a coffee and pecan beer and I love to mix the two. So good! I also appreciate the addition of ciders and cocktails when I'm not in the mood for beer. They hold super neat events here and their food has really come a long way in their fancy pizza oven. One of our favorite things is to see the special of the week because they always look amazing! Steel Hands is definitely one of our go to spots in Greensboro for a drink and good food!
Delicious beer and very spacious. I went to this brewery for their music bingo night and they did not disappoint. Their menu had a large variety of offerings, but I ended up sticking with the first thing I tried throughout the night because it was so tasty. I got the smoothie sour, flavored with orange, mango, and pineapple. It was tropical and not excessively sweet. Often I can't drink more than one sour due to sweetness, but I was able to have several of these. They also have an extensive food menu and you can really make a meal out of what they have. I chose the pretzel with beer cheese, mustard, and marinara. Marinara seemed to be an odd dipping choice, but the beer chees was absolutely delish. There was a full menu of specialty pizza and their kitchen was enclosed in glass, there was complete transparency in how they prepared food. Sometimes I get nervous getting food in alcohol-centric spaces, but seeing into the kitchen put me completely at ease. The music bingo was well run and the audio system was great. I was also pleased that there were a variety of seating options (low-down chairs and high tops). I'd love to see a few more low-seating options for big parties, but that didn't affect my group one bit. Their facebook shows lots of food specials, limited beer releases, and events. I'll definitely be back to this brewery!
I joined friends here Thursday night for music bingo. This was my first time here and I can definitely say I'll be returning. The building is very spacious and has a beautiful outside seating area. This is one of the few breweries around that has their own kitchen. I ordered the Belgian Triple to drink and the brisket pizza for food. The onion jam with the tender brisket on the pizza was a winner for sure. It was a bit slow but then again it was a Thursday night. I will definitely be returning.
I am on fire with these firsts to review lately! Steel Hands Brewing is a welcome addition to the brew and food scene in Greensboro. They've set up shop in what used to be the Natty Greene's beer brewing facility directly across the street from the Greensboro Coliseum, corner of Chapman and Gate City Blvd. Mind the fact you cannot turn left into the brewery due to the median, your best bet if coming East on Gate City is to turn left on Chapman and pull a U-E there. First of all, their space is HUGE. There is no chance you'll feel cramped in there, and they are already working on an event space in an older warehouse next door to increase it even more. They have a lovely patio, but it was way too hot for me today to enjoy it. They plan on building a full fledged beer garden between the two buildings which ought to be nice. Inside you'll see their brewing facility behind glass, and also their pizza kitchen with a giant stone oven. Pizza is always available here, and we'll get to that in a minute. To your left is a big walk up bar for ordering, and their menus are on a TV overhead. There are also QR codes throughout that you can boop with your phone to access their tap list. I had two beers while there, their Irish red and coffee lager. I truly enjoyed both, but have to say I was partial to the coffee lager. You don't usually see coffee in anything but a porter or stout, but I loved the coffee beans paired with the refreshing taste. It was more like an iced coffee! I also had "The Garden" pizza. It was made hot and fresh in about 15 minutes in their stone oven. The crust was the PERFECT texture. Crispy edges but pillowy inside. Big win there. Toppings were all very tasty as was the mozzarella cheese. The sauce needs a little tweak, I think it could use more tomato and garlic. In talking with the manager he says they are still perfecting that, he agrees with my assertion. It was still a damn good pizza, and plenty for two people to share! I really love the beer "how to" mural that wraps around the top of the wall by their stage. In general I dig the vibe here. I am definitely going to be back and will bring the crew with me!

We hung out at Steel Hands for a bit before attending a concert at First Horizon Coliseum. It's a cool spot for beers & bites, or meeting up with friends. The back has a large seating area and there are a few tables outside as well. We sat at the bar, and the staff was great even though they were quite busy. We tried a few different beers and ordered a large pretzel with cheese - it hit the spot without the arena prices. read more
Fantastic beer and food. I got the delicious brisket pizza. I'm not the biggest beer aficionado but what I got tasted great. This place gets busy, especially on game nights at the coliseum. That being said, there's ample indoor and outdoor seating. Very friendly service. A bit on the pricier side in my opinion but the quality is worth it. read more
A very pleasant evening was enjoyed here in this huge space. Steel Hands has over a dozen of their own beers on tap, some of which are a bit more "candy" flavored than beer flavored. "Creme Brulee Coffee Lager" and "Pecan Brown Ale" and "Strawberry Cheesecake Sour" which appeals to some people but not me. Thankfully, they also have hefeweizen and a triple IPA and Irish Red. I spotted the "Old Carolina Lager" on the board and enjoyed a pint. Crisp, light, it's a delicious beer-flavored beer. It would have been perfect with a pizza from their on-site kitchen except that I'd already eaten dinner earlier. Lots of room and many different seating options here. Couches and low tops and hightops and some "community" tables too. I got a table in the corner and the only bummer was that there wasn't a power outlet nearby. Still, I enjoyed my beer and the wifi for a while. Overall, a very positive time and I'm really glad I landed here. [Review 2402 of 2024 - 3858 in North Carolina - 23415 overall] read more

Love this new spot in Greensboro! Right off of Gate City and plenty of indoor and outdoor space! Would be great for a large group or any type of event too! Lots of beers to choose from but I got their Hazy NE IPA and it was delicious! Love seeing the craft beer scene grow in the triad. We didn't get to try their pizzas but the menu looks delicious and their pizza oven is a true masterpiece from Italy. Can't wait to try one next time we're in! read more
Steel hands is a wonderful addition to the brewery scene in Greensboro! We came in with another family with children so we never know how we will be received and it was great! We started sitting inside with the music but ended up floating outside to keep the sound down and to let the kids be a little more mobile. We ordered a couple beers and pizza. Their beers were good as was their pizza. The only issue we had (and they were newly open so I'm sure perfecting and that's perfectly fine) is every slice as we picked it up all the cheese and toppings fell offf. We also had friends that wish there were more non pizza options, but again it was early in their opening and we were just glad to have new concepts come to town! We are planning on visiting again soon so I can't wait to update! Families with children, this is a good spot for you!!! read more

The best damn CALZONE ever. And the nicest people in the restaurant biz that I've encountered in a long time. It was quite an experience. Upon walking in, I ran into Stephanie, taking 5 out front. I chatted her up about what was good and all that and she steered me to the HEARTY HAVANA CALZONE (5*) without hesitation. So, you bet I put in that order. After loading it up and paying at the front counter (they'll start a tab right there for you if you want to order beer), I made my way to the other section of this huge space and found a whole new world over there. The beer world. The live music world. The world of possibility. So, I threw down on a nice 6.2%abv JUICY HAZY IPA (4*), which was juuuuust right. On stage was a cat with a cool voice and tasty guitar. Nice live music to set the groove for my beer and the calzone and GREEK SALAD (4*) about to be served. The night was ON. And so was that calzone. Flaky, light, ever-so-slightly sweet (possibly honey?) dough that fell apart perfectly upon eating it. The filling of GARLIC PEPPER PORK!, pickle, spices, cheeses were melty hot and outrageous. Add the drizzle of spicy honey-mustard sauce and it was big time. First of it's kind! If you're dining as a pair, split the calzone and order a salad. I had both and was stuffed - I did it in the name of good food! This night rocked so hard. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! And get the calzone! read more

Pizza made fresh in a wood fire pizza oven. The beer is great along with the staff. The Creme Brûlée is my favorite!! Also they have awesome beer mittens!! read more
This was my first time going to Steel Hands, I was super excited that my first time there was for a Brewmasters Brunch! This brunch was a pairing of 4 beers and 4 different brunch plates. It was an awesome event with great food and beer. In between course 2 & 3 they took us on a tour and gave us the low down on how the beer is made and bottled there. I'm just gonna put this out there you gotta be pretty smart to brew beer (lots of chemistry talk). All of the staff was super nice and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend attending one of their events! It looks like they are pretty good about updating their social media with events and specials of the week so check them out! read more
It was a nice surprise to find live music on Thursday when we went for drinks. The weather was great and we could sit outside and still hear the music playing from inside through the outdoor pass through order window. Staff was helpful and friendly, offering us small bowls for our purchased snacks( they do have pizza, too, but we will have to save that for next time). Nice location, close to the coliseum, especially when gearing up for an event or concert. read more

Located in the industrial area of Columbia the building takes on the "Steel" ambiance of the foundry's and plants located next door! Interior oozes steel and the outside area are outstanding. Great craft beer and the bartenders are great mixologists suggesting handcrafted cocktails that are worth the trip. This is a must stop destination when heading south on I77.... Can't believe I drove by the place for two years. Great Marriott at the exit so spend the night and enjoy Steel Hands!!! read more

There is a plethora of breweries in Greensboro, and the numbers are only growing. With such a saturated market, breweries have to do something to stand out and I think Steel Hands does that! Steel Hands is great for large groups, as there is ample seating inside and outside. It's a HUGE venue, with a ton of food and drink options. They have beer and wine, and the selection of beer is pretty vast - they literally have something for everyone here. I really dig the industrial style building. There are huge picnic tables in the main bar room, and the only complaint I had was that the acoustics in there were almost too good - the live music inside made it a little hard to carry on a conversation, but not unmanageable. I imagine maybe they would normally do live music outside, when it's not the throes of brutal, brutal summer. They have a really cool little area by the entrance that's basically an entire gift shop, and they have a whole pizza kitchen! I didn't grab any food this time but I look forward to trying it next time. read more
Had an amazing brunch here on Sunday....I love pizza, have no problem eating it for breakfast, but the twist they take on it for brunch is fantastic. We got a chicken and waffle pizza, a bacon egg and cheese calzone and a French toast pretzel. All of these were amazing! The bacon egg and cheese calzone was stuffed full of fluffy eggs, bacon and a ton of cheese. It was so filling, I could only eat half, and had a great breakfast again yesterday! The chicken waffle pizza was also delicious, loaded with chicken, some pickled onion, cheese and a little bit of syrup (?) maybe drizzle. The pretzel, also huge and delicious, came with a cinnamon/sugar butter/cream cheese spread that made the flavor really pop. We also had a few beers, I opted for the "Breakfast on the Blvd", which was a delicious strawberry cream taste, not overly fruity, but smooth and refreshing, a nice compliment to breakfast. This was my first time visiting Steel Hands, but I have no doubt I will be returning again real soon! They had a giant outdoor eating/drinking patio, which is really nice to enjoy in this fall weather. But they also had an giant indoor space I'm sure we'll be vice king out in the colder weather coming. read more
Location very close to the Greensboro Coliseum with a large parking lot. Loved the friendly staff here. Plenty of draft choices with tasty beer. You can order pizza at the kitchen window or at the bar. They had live music that was pleasant. The pepperoni pizza was divine with a thin crispy crust. The margarita was a soggy mess. Guess the crust could not stand up to the fresh mozzarella! We will definitely be back when in the Greensboro area. read more
This was a pretty cool joint. Showing up at 8:00 Sunday night gave us the place to ourselves. The bartender was a cool dude. We only drank a beer each since it was so close to closing and coming from the draft they were great. '70's rock was the music station being broadcast which was nice. The beer garden outside had cornhole boards for killing time. I was pretty impressed with the PA speakers and stage area they have. If advertised and promoted well this wouldn't be a bad venue for local bands or smaller touring acts. read more
Service was amazing and the beer even more. We came on Sunday afternoon with our puppy. We practiced not picking up things on the ground with our mouths and she laid in the sun. We got Steel Haze and imperial IPA. It's a huge space right across UNCG coliseum. read more
This was one of the best IPAs I've had in a long time. Just a really cool venue with a laid-back vibe and honestly some of the best pizza nachos. I've had in a brewery in the general Triad area. I'll definitely check this place out again and hope to get the same beer but also try some of the really awesome other brews. read more

I love the indoor and outdoor seatings. Giving everyone a choice of whether to enjoy the outdoors or music inside. It's a lot more spacious than I expected from the look of the exterior. I didn't order any of the food since I ate before hand. However, my brother enjoyed their enormous size pretzel. He punished it within minutes. I am usually not a beer drinker but my cousin recommended this place and met me there. I have to say, there are various varieties. The staffs were knowledgeable on what types of flavor I should get; and recommended. They were quite good in my preference. read more
