This review is based on customer service only as we have not purchased anything from them yet. I was hesitant to come here at first after reading the other reviews but it was so close to my house, so figured why not? Kevin helped us out with pavers and he went above and beyond what we were expecting! He brought us down samples with the forklift, called a sales rep from a company and asked that a sample be brought to the store so we could see it in our backyard. I purchased 5 - 80 pound White Decorative Rock from Jose at Southeast Construction Products. The display at the store and on the website (see picture) display the stones as WHITE. When i got home and pour out the bags... As you can see in the photograph there clearly not all white. When I spoke to José on the phone he is unwilling to offer any compensation because the bags are open. I asked he had empty bags. I was happy to refill and bring them back ....as I wanted white stones. He didn't want to make an effort and anyway to compensate or make the situation better. I asked if other white stones were available that I could put on top of the current stones. No. There's many other independent stone businesses that I can certainly do my shopping. read more

Buying 1 bag of cement should be pretty easy right? Wrong. Paid for it but waited 20 minutes for someone to grab it for me as it was high on an outdoor shelf and no one was available to help. Heard employees in back tell each other they were on lunch. Ended up just getting my refund after wasting my time out there. read more

Horrible service, as contractors you are sure to buy extra to avoid going back and forth. Rather go to home depot to avoid restocking fees. read more

Buyer beware, prices increase hourly to daily......I will give them 1 stars as they are the only game in town, and I have tin the past when I needed rock their prices were fair, but that said they can be evasive not answering questions about pricing, and to make matters worse joking in a flirtatious way, that I believe most women don't need. Here's my last experience with them.... My contractor sent me here to see 1 !/2 inch brick pavers, we volunteered to have them loaded in my partners pick-up, so here I went to check out color of bricks, they only had 3 choices, but hey I could live with that, I asked price range before I went back to look at color I was told nothing over $1. Each... ok fair.... Then I go buy one brick in a dark gray to check it out with my home and its $1.09 plus tax.... And when if I want my contractors discount it will be triple price, this is all well and good, meant to be funny, we laughed and asked for real price, we're told nothing, repeated question is side stepped they are closing, when my partner goes back to find out price next day he is told his 10 percent off is better then contractors discount, really?, oh and don't forget tax and restocking fee for pallet if we bring it back, and wait now 700 bricks at 1.09 each comes to almost $900., oh no wait its because of all the fees , upon further question and quote with discount it will be $765. Wow, thank goodness for that military discount, you decide, again only game in town, but why harassment and why fees, I don't need nickel and dime for a hundred or so just give price, don't sound like you like disabled vets or any vets and don't charge your contractors more, again your decision if I had more time to shop around I would pay more even and go elsewhere. They are not business like or professional. I just wanted a price and a total that made sense. Oh and make sure you get a quote and use it as their prices go up daily.....Last thing they also charge sales tax on pallet deposit, I suspect, from talking to city of Whittier, this is money is not given to the state or city as its a deposit. read more

Ok if you need a scoop or two of sand and gravel and picking up yourself, otherwise stick to the big stores or try Resource Building Materials. Ordered 8 pallets of material, give me a different story every time i call on delivery estimate. Was told they couldn't break pallets on certain material, which i found out to be untrue, horrible if your not a contractor. read more

Don't buy their stabilized DG. It is garbage. We are contractor who bought 4 or 5 yards of this, paying a premium for it. Did not set up any better than standard DG. They said they would make it good for us but have more or less blown us off. Buyer beware. read more

Yard man is friendly and helpful, but the manager is a bit of a bully. I've been in a few times and he's always yelling at the very busy yard man instead of coming out to help. I wonder where the head people are to check in on these things. read more
