You would never know this park existed if you did not pay attention on Google Maps. One suspects that the Town of Babylon likes it that way. Even when you know where the pond is, you have a challenge parking and making your way to the trails. We found parking around the southwest side of the park and parked in front of somebody's house (The street adjacent to the park here was filled with NO PARKING signs). Once on the trail, things improved. The path was dog friendly, most people were wearing masks, and the bicyclers were mindful of pedestrians in a way that at nearby Belmont Lake they are not. The pond itself is simply lovely, and a very peaceful place to sit on the many benches and think about the big issues. The east side of the pond abuts back yards for some very lucky people. The west side contains a trail that goes all the way to Sunrise Highway. We will be back soon, now that we know more.

Perfect local walking spot with eventual access to Belmont Lake. Start at either end and take your bike or walk it. The trails are beautiful with little bridges and streams located around the woods. Multiple access points throughout. Eventually get to the Pond with beautiful wildlife viewing.

Absolutely beautiful foliage at this time of the year. It was our first time to be in this park and it was much better than expected. The trails were easy to follow and it wasn't too far away from either Belmont Lake or Argyle Pond, so there were lots of options in terms of where you would like to go further. This park was dogs friendly.

A beautiful day for taking the dogs for a walk the foliage is beautiful this time of year. If you like fishing you can do that too, but don't forget your fishing license.

This is a beautiful Park for walking jogging or riding a bike there is no picnic area but there are benches that you can sit down and take a rest and take in the scenery And the scenery is beautiful with all the Lakes and streams in connecting through the woods especially in the spring and summer time when all the trees are in bloom If you're into freshwater fishing the Lakes also stalked with Bass and different varieties of trout as a matter of fact I seen a couple of them swimming Downstream and I could almost pick them up with my hand beautiful scenery

There's always unleashed dogs, but I haven't found any of them to be unfriendly

Love this place. We call it the horse trails because a nearby stable rides through these trails sometimes. But mostly it's just neighborhood folks walking their dogs, fishing, riding bikes or just walking to enjoy the scenery. I am of the latter. I haven't come here for a while because my new dog isn't a good traveler. But walking through today just made me miss my old dog who was like my other son. Makes you feel like you are Upstate or in another state. Great scenery and all the folks are friendly.

Very well maintained trail for hiking and biking. Bridle path as well. Path takes you to Belmont state park. Well marked.

Was here over the weekend for some casual trek along the trails. Its essentially one long horse trail that connects to Belmont Lake State park in the north. I had a great time here its quite secluded and a nice barrier from all the traffic noises. Lots of people walking with their dogs or biking. The trails are quite well maintained and I actually saw a number of trash cans along the path so makes it convenient not having to carry out all trash. There is a horseriding stable along the way though so definitely do be careful when you're walking and not step into any presents left by the horses :) Overall its a great way to relax and unwind, for a dog person like myself its quite nice to see so many dog lovers just out for walks. The whole park isn't overly huge I would say leisurely probably about an hour or so to cover all the different paths around the lake. A great place for a stroll or bike ride. Plenty of parking spots and near the entrance quite a number of playgrounds for the little kids. Couldn't ask more for a nice little local neighborhood park

Rogers Lake - 2017

Rogers Lake

On memory alone this place scores a 5! Yes it is somewhat dirty with tons of goose crap. But I…read morebasically spent years 2-16 coming here all the time. The little play area of the park was so cool when I was 2-5. Then it was the lake I loved swimming in and where I learned how to swim (6-8). My mom would always yell to me not to go past my waist but I did any way. The trick is to go in almost to the waist and dive forward and go under and then swim back to waist length depth. She never knew, or, she probably did and figured she would let me think I was being clever. A little older I remember throwing my ninja turtle(s) into the "deep end" and trying to find them. So yah, if anyone finds him send me a message. When I was a little older I jumped off the docks and eventually, rode my bike off of it too (dumb "tweens"). There were always the basketball courts though those are in sad shape and when I was younger, the scary older boys looked imposing. Around the same time my friend and I would ride our bikes* to Rogers lake and/or kayak. Finally, from about 14-16 or 17 or so, I did crew and those are my last memories. I think I purposely flipped my boat deep in the water the last time I ever went on the lake. *Watch your bikes. Don't do what I did and "hide" it by some bush near the lake. Some good for nothing low life scum stole my Grey Gary Fisher bike and I never got it back, obviously (cops don't care). I wish karma strikes this loser back in whatever way is deemed appropriate by those who dole it out (perhaps some low life can steal his/her childs bike). Other than bike stealing low life losers, I suspect it was someone with the first name E, this is a safe place.

It is super easy to access, just an easy drive down the road from Old Wethersfield and past the dreaded DMV. You can bring your lunch here and have it on the bench. Be sure to dispose of your litter in the trash can. There was a very kind older gentleman who was working to pick up the litter of the ground, he said "it gives me something to do". There's no reason for this, as there's a substantial amount of trash cans. This is a nice place to go on a boat ride down the Connecticut River, and to try to catch some fish. The Wethersfield Cove is a beautiful place to rest your mind and your eyes.

The Cove Warehouse Museum still stands today and is open seasonally to the public. There is the heritage trail that runs through it, a boat ramp, rocky beach, picnic tables, porta potty, and a huge parking lot. As far as beach goes, I wouldn't advise swimming in it because of a huge sewage leak back in the 1990s. It is a beautiful spot to walk, picnic, and just enjoy the vista. I'm sure it's fun to go boating on it too. Overall, a nice little neighborhood park with tons of history.

Launch at Lattin's Cove was solid jammed and the number of rude idiots just simply ASTOUNDING. No courtesy for other boaters/pwc's whatsoever. Couple of morons were camped out on the dock and screwed up everyone else's put in/take out routine. No surprise to see the NJ and NY registrations on their PWCs. While coming back in, 3 idiots on PWC's came screaming past us in the no wake zone to "beat" us to the ramp, then they sat there blocking one side of the launch. One fellow asked nicely if they could move over just a bit so he could launch his pwc and he got snapped at by one of the tattoo queens... "we're leaving in a couple of minutes". Definitely will not go back here on a weekend anytime soon. Very sad because it never used to be like this.

At our age, we are able to drive a boat without a license but not many places will rent a boat to you without the license. Last year we rented a boat on Long Island, in the ocean water, and it was a fun experience. This year, we were talking about it with friends and they said they'd be down to come along so we decided to put together a group outing on a lake instead, especially since we would have the kids jumping in the water also. I really wanted to get a pontoon because we had an awesome time out on a lake in SC with my sister-in-law and family. Our first boat got canceled on us because needed repairs last minute, and after scrambling for a replacement boat, the boat we ended up renting became available for a date that worked for everyone so we jumped on it. We met up with the boat manager at a public launch site, packed up our stuff on the boat and got quick instruction about driving and different locations on the lake. We dropped off our guide and headed out to have some fun exploring. The lake is huge and there are plenty of places to drop anchor and enjoy the day We settled on a sandbar in the middle of the lake. There were quite a few boats already anchored so we didn't have quite a sandbar as we planned but the kids got in the water and we all got to swim some. Theres a restaurant you can actually sail up to called, Down The Hatch, right there on the lake. There were a few spots where you could anchor, that have calmer water and even a rope swing. The whole day was great, despite a few hiccups. This weekend there was a regatta so we were able to see a lot of sailboats which was pretty cool. There were lots of people on the lake enjoying the weather. The water is cold for the first couple minutes but warms up immediately after getting in. The water feels clean. It's constantly agitated and there were plenty of boats so the water was far from calm. I didn't have that slimy feeling I felt in SC after we got out. I brought my scuba mask to test it out and wish I could have seen the flooded city beneath the water. Very many years ago, the town flooded the former town in order to introduce hydroelectricity and when the water level drops, you can see the town's church bell sticking out of the water. We didn't have time for that but hopefully this is the beginning of an annual event with our friends. We only rented the boat for 4 hours but 6 hours would have been way better. The boat manager was very cool and we hope to do more business with him in the future.
