Great experience from first visit to after install. I had three quotes from local companies and South Star was the best quote. I was comfortable on first visit when my representative was able to pull up the floor plan of my condo on her computer screen; they had installs at the complex previously. That probably led to such a quick and accurate quote. I was able to walk thru their warehouse, an extensive selection of granite to chose from. Once the bid was let, we had a visit from a technician for templating the kitchen counter. The install date was set and South Star was right on time. Tear out and install took less than 3 hours and was checked over and over for fit and leveling. Overall, a great experience. read more

I ordered and had Quartzite installed. Day of installation I see on FB they were having a blow out sale for certain choices & measures. AND they were giving everyone a free sink, free sink cut out, & free edging. So I was unhappy that I didn't get at least free sink & cut out. NOPE- tough luck to me. So if you get a cheap granite, and only 45SF ( mine was 47-go figure) you get freebies, but if you go high end, they are not willing to do anything for you. Feel poor customer service to say the least! So never do business with them EVER!!! read more

As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted! The staff was incredibly nice and the process was super easily! I was able to walk the showroom and pick out multiple slabs of quartz that appealed to me. I was then provided a quote for the four different ones I liked and even organized them from lowest to highest. I am very eager to place my order with this company ! Isabella took great care of us ! read more

Isabella is the person that we worked with and she did an outstanding job leading up through the process and in helping us select our granite. We haven't seen it in person yet but have seen photos sent by one of our friends who lives in Myrtle Beach area. Isabella also sent photos and it looks like a beautiful job! We are impressed with our new countertop and are so glad that South Star Granite was recommended to us by several people in our condo complex. Great customer service. read more

We were happy with the service at the time of selection and all. However, after that it went down hill. The installers were terrible and rude and blamed us because they didn't measure correctly and the problems continuted to snowball. After the install was finally done (with issue after issue) we continued to have problems. I called and sent emails with pictures of the problem that I was having. I have a black countertop and the grout between the counter and the backsplash had turned white and powdery and no matter how much I wiped it down it would turn white again. After finally getting someone back here to look at it, they decided to send the same rude installers I had the first time (even knowing that there were issues with them to begin with) told me that it was powdery from the tile that I had installed. This was a bunch of BS and they just wanted to blame someone else. All they did was clean it up with acetone because they didn't have black grout or whatever they use to seal it and now the acetone has eaten away on some areas and I still have a white line going around the perimeter of my countertop which looks terrible. I again emailed them with more pictures and other issues that I am having with the bathroom countertop as well and as well as more phone calls only to be ignored. My last phone call was made was to speak to Flavio, who I understand is the owner and still no return call. I understand that I am not their only customer but I am not happy with the service and have expressed that several times in emails, phone calls and to the extent of going there in person. I paid alot of money to have this done and expect that the service top notch. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. read more

When my husband and I discovered South Star Granite, it was like all the stars aligned ... phenomenal inventory to choose from, the best prices we had come across and the one & only Marina! She is the epitome of an 'old school', customer-oriented salesperson. We really connected with her and the slab we chose for our baths & laundry room is outstanding. Everyone who sees it has told us they've never seen granite in 'that' color ~ green. As the saying goes, "Pictures are worth a thousand words", so take a look below. Make it easy on yourself, go to South Star and ask for Marina ... please tell her Ginnie recommended her. read more

We were very impressed with their inventory, great selection. Lucas Moreira was our contact and he was very professional and knowledgeable. Lucas guided us through the whole process of designing the perfect layout. He remained in constant contact with us through the whole process. Everyone at South Star Granite provided excellent customer service. The installers were prompt, efficient and very professional. We would definitely return in the future. read more

I would never recommend these people to anyone! We paid extra to reserve selected slabs. They installed late and installed the wrong slabs with chips in them. Upon notify the manager they said it was the right slabs. I sent photos of what we reserved and asked for them to show me 1 similarity... with no response. Then the manager Mauro tried to bully me into paying the balance without correcting the issues or providing a discount. I will tell everyone how horrible of an experience I had with them. Run! Don't walk away!!! read more

They are not well organized.I called to reschedule templating which they said they would call with a new date . They called that afternoon and said they were on the way . A installation date was set and they were on time and done .An hour or so later I was called and told the installers were on they way . After the job was done I was reinvoiced with a higher amount than the original invoice . This is a nickel and dime outfit looking to squeeze every penny out of the customer. Will look elsewhere . read more

South Star did an amazing job with our countertops! We are thrilled with how they turned out, and they were incredibly helpful with answering all of our questions throughout the entire process. Definitely recommend using them! read more

If I could do negative stars, I would. Horrible customer service!! We shopped at and chose our quartz countertops at South Star Granite on Seaboard Street in Myrtle Beach on February 18, 2023. Working with Michelle was very nice. She was knowledgeable and answered the questions we had. We were required to pay 70% that day to get on the schedule for measuring first and then installation. We asked of it was possible to have it completed by the end of March as we had company coming for a week. The template was made on March 3rd and March 9th the countertops were installed. The company asked for the balance owed at this time and were paid. At first glance looked beautiful. However, when I got closer and began wiping them off, I found several spots that were damaged and had been repaired. The largest spot was very near the sink in a very obvious spot on the counter. The others were smaller and not as noticeable. We contacted the company again speaking with Michelle the next morning. We took photos and send them to her. Michelle told us that the manager was not in until Monday but she would speak with them then. We were contacted the next week by someone who identified himself as the owner who asked if he could come to our home and inspect them. When he came to the house and looked at the spots he asked if we would consider a repair because "Fabio is amazing with repairs" He did not offer an apology for the damaged product or the inconvenience. Keep in mind our kitchen is all torn apart, and the cupboards empty. We have paid a plumber to hook things up once the counters were installed. We agreed to this. A few days later Fabio came to check out and repair the damage He explained that one spot there was nothing he could do anything with as it was too large. Fabio stated he would talk to the owners to get this replaced. We heard nothing from the company after March 24. We had company coming March 30th and our kitchen was still not corrected! In early April we called to inquire about things being replaced. We received a return call from Michelle, the salesperson we worked with who gave us a new install date of April 10. We needed to coordinate with a plumber to return to disconnect and reconnect once the install was done. We were told they would have the plumber they used do this. We later received a call that we should get the plumber we had used initially. The company did agree to pay for this. We did not hear anything else from the company. We left many messages with staff members but did not get any response from anyone. April 10 arrived and no one came to install the new counters. We finally got someone who stated they are the manager on the phone and were told that Michelle no longer worked at the company and that were we not on the schedule. On April 17th with not word from the company we called again. We spoke with Karen Lima (sp) who stated again we had never been out on the schedule and that she has now been put in charge of our case. When asked when the counters would be replaced, we were told "when I know you are n the schedule you will know". When we told Karen that this began in February and we were required to pay 70% up front and the balance had been paid at the initial install she stated "you had a contract" to which I replied "yes and that same contract did not state damaged / repaired countertops would be installed". Karen stated that they don't control manufacturers or installers". Karen then said "you have a kitchen". Then she hung up on me! I I phoned back asking for an owner or a manager and was told they are never in the office and never let anyone know when they will be in the office. I researched and found there is another South Star location in the Charleston so called there. Of course, the call was not answered and I needed to leave a message. I never got a response to this call. I also found the owners name to be Ronisson Santos although I am not a fan of contacting owners / managers on personal social media accounts, I sent a message to him April 18 again, I got no response however, it was not long before someone called to get our counters installed!!! We were told different stories regarding different staff members depending on who you speak with - Fabio is the owner, manager, and today he is only the installer. Michelle our salesperson was out sick, fell down the stairs and is no longer employed there. Karen is now in charge of the office according to her. That is too bad if it is true, this woman should not be allowed to speak to customers! Finally in May, Fabio Tavares came to our home and did an outstanding job of installing our counters! He is wonderful! The card he left for us is Beach Remodeling. I will definitely remember him when we do other projects on our home. read more

I went to South Star Granite having used them in the past on other homes I had and the results and treatment I received was not only great but OUTSTANDING!! The service the provide is excellent and their caring and well educated staff made the experience one worthy of passing on to all of you. I am in an industry that demands excellence and attention to detail and their team at SOUTH STAR GRANITE delivered on all fronts. From the excellent of their site manager Windson to their showroom sales representative Makayla and a team of installers and measurements the end results made it all worthwhile. I would never again recommend these people...they renin on our installation and now I am having to go to someone else which will take weeks and I am without a kitchen sink. Would not recommend. Sales person and showroom were very professional but that's where it ended. Installer was an hour late for his already three hour window. Then they did not read the sheet noting the riser would need to be cut on site. Ofcourse they were not able to do this dragging it out for a second installation date and another 3 hours of missed work. When speaking with the manager only to ensure he knew what happened, he responded with "do you want something from me?" Never again @ read more

Well we had our granite done by South Star. We were not happy with the seems so the install guys came back and tried to fix. Update: We cannot believe the telephone call that we just received from Mauro, the manager. The cursing was absolutely inappropriate and uncalled for. We do not speak that way and do not expect to be spoken to that way. Believe us, the $75 was not an issue. We do understand that the warranty is for one year, but thought that since this clearly was due to improper installation, maybe you would stand behind your work, but apparently not. We know your technician was in the neighborhood and he was very nice to deal with. Your lack of professionalism, foul language and threats are what are most upsetting to us. To be threatened that "you will not be there for us in the future" is absolutely amazing. We will be sure to pick one of the many other granite dealers located on the same street as you in the future. They would be happy to sell us more quartz and repair your sloppy work. Please do yourself a favor and learn how to speak to your customers. I would not recommend South Star Granite at all. Go to one of the dozens of other granite dealers very nearby. They installed our quartz approximately 2 1/2 years ago and we recently noticed that the joint between two of the slabs had some of the epoxy come out. This should not happen and we were advised that it happened because when they originally installed it, too much hardener was used. When asked if this repair would be covered under warranty, we were advised that the warranty period is 1 year, so we would have to pay the repair fee. They do not stand behind their work. Do yourself a favor and choose any of the other dealers around. read more

I contracted Mauro from South Star Granite for two properties. When they installed the granite at the first property I wanted to change the faucet. When I went to install new faucet the holes in the granite were too small. They used the faucet to size the holes in the granite! I tried to explain to Mauro that the holes are a standard size but he kept making excuses. I gave him another chance to do another property. What a MISTAKE! We picked out our granite and I think he didn't give us the piece we picked out. Then it came with a seam and the specs he sent us had no seam. We complained and wanted a refund. He threatened us with the contract that we signed, He wasn't going to budge. I had to give in and accept what he gave me. Also one back splash was higher than another. He is very incompetent. Buyer BEWARE. Don't TRUST MAURO. Joe read more

From start to finish, South Star Granite was professional, and did a great job. Sarah was our salesperson and was excellent at assisting with the choices of granite. The installers did a fantastic job and left the kitchen very clean after installation. I love my new granite countertops! read more

Their installers did a fantastic job. Good prices. Large selection. Very helpful sales staff. Couldn't be happier.

My husband and I contracted South Star Granite to replace our kitchen countertops. From the moment we entered their showroom and offices, we were treated with the utmost professionalism. Maro was our salesperson, and he spent a lot of time with us showing and explaining about their products. Once we made a decision, Maro did an excellent job of explaining the timeline, what we should expect of the replacement process, and what the final outcome would be. The price quote was competitive. The staff members, who came to our home to measure and install, were very professional and respectful too. The removal of the old countertop, and install was much easier on us than we expected. The end result -- a beautiful, high quality granite countertop with no damage to walls, cabinets, trim, etc.! We appreciated South Star Granite's professionalism, and attention to every detail! read more

Would never recommend South Star Granite to anyone. They gave me a quote on counters, came back to do the template measurement on the counters and then contacted me with a price increase (the next day) due to a 12" overhang on my front counter. 3 weeks later the counters were installed with only a 9" overhang. (They had ample time to find the error and let me know if there was another increase). Contacted the Owner/General Manager and asked for a discount but he recommended a tear out and charging me an extra $350+ to reinstall. He told me they made the mistake and that is how he would rectify the issue. I did not want another tear out because who knows what else he would end up charging me and also if they would even get the right size counter installed. read more

Would not recommend if you are not going to directly supervise. We contracted them to do kitchen counter tops in our 2nd home Condo kitchen. The installation process was awful. They unhooked the plumbing, but took some critical parts with them so the plumber could not hook up the existing faucet. In addition, they did not shut off the water all the way and water leaked for a week before our plumber came in to install the faucet, but could not because many of the parts were missing. We were advised everything was left in the cabinet, but was not. Due to the amount of water that leaked, there is damage to the unit below us. South Star says they aren't responsible for any of the damage!!! There demo/install team disconnected the plumbing but did not ensure it was completely shut off, it damaged our property and the property below us, and they aren't responsible. We've tried working with the sales staff regarding the issue, but we are getting stonewalled. I would not recommend this company. read more

I called and asked if they sold marble remnants for a vanity backsplash. They said Yes! My husband and I drove 30 minutes in heavy traffic to get there.
