South River Compounding Pharmacy is easy to find in a well-lit shopping center with plenty of parking. The staff is amiable and accommodating anytime you are looking for specific supplements. We love that their supplements are natural and well-researched and that this company is working to help empower people with information about health. Their webinars and YouTube videos are amazingly informative and FREE. They do offer paid consultations, which are very expensive, but totally worth it to do at least once if you need the information. We also love the wealth of information we get from the pharmacists and the focus on natural health, when possible. It's the only way to truly know what EXACTLY is in your medication, especially if you need something dye-free, preservative-free, alcohol-free, and/or sugar-free, or you have any type of allergy to medication ingredients. SRRx also offers nutritional counseling and weight loss programs. Keep in mind, making prescriptions from scratch DOES take time, so get your Rx in ASAP. It's not like retail Rx where they transfer premade pills from one bottle to the other in less than twenty minutes. They usually need 1-2 BUSINESS days to get a prescription ready. IMHO, this should be where you get all of your supplements and compounded medications! read more

Horrible, do not recommend! They acted as if we were inconvenience to them and it was incredibly clear that they absolutely did not want our business. The staff was as rude as could be. My wife and I are disgusted by the way they treated us. We have no idea how this place could possibly still be in business with the way they interact with their prospective customers. My kitten has been battling a stubborn URI, so our vet prescribed an antibiotic which needed to be compounded. The prescription was called in to South River at 1030 on a Friday and was ready for pick up by 130! We were also offered chicken or fish flavoring which is super helpful for my picky eater. Our family has been faithful patients of South Rivers for many years and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this establishment. We have had staff members bring our medications to our home when we were unable to get them before their closing time. One of the owners dropped off my son's prescription to my business on her way home so I would not have to rush out to get it before the store closed. There are people who are not accustomed to going to a specialty pharmacy where each medication is custom made and takes longer to make. If you are interested in being a number in the cattle call, then South River is not for you. The patients who prefer a one size fits all approach should probably stay at a chain store where everyone is treated like a number and not a valued patient. read more

I have been a customer for over ten years. They were recommended by my ob/gyn. Over the past two years, the level of customer service at the West End location has gone way downhill. Even though we're all wearing masks right now, I can tell these employees are smiling and willing to assist. WARNING! DO NOT USE SOUTH RIVER COMPOUNDING PHARMACY. This pharmacy falls far below the bar for basic professional service. * They are incapable of prescription refills. * They told me they would call me when my prescriptions were refilled and then never called me. * They offer mailing services but didn't follow through despite requesting - in writing - the prescriptions be refilled and mailed (I live a long distance from the pharmacy). * They didn't let me know they couldn't reach my doctor's office to refill the prescription. * When the doctor faxed in my prescription orders, the pharmacy claimed they never received the prescriptions and never notified me. * When my doctor's office PERSONALLY called to refill the prescription, the pharmacy never notified me the prescription had finally been refilled and was finally ready to be picked up. I am now in search of another compounding pharmacy to work with for my bio-identical pharmacy needs. This has been a pharmacy nightmare. read more

It's unfortunate that I have to write a review about a place that provides heath care. This place was recommended to me by my doctor. I usually get a 3 month supply of medication mailed from them. However, within a week or so of giving a staff member my credit card number that I used to pay for my medications, it was fraudulent used by one of their pharmacy technicians, LD, who is still listed on their website as an employee. The person in question, LD, attempted to purchase over $700 worth of goods online. It's a very sad thing when people who are entrusted to take care of people's health use that privilege to take advantage of them. I filed a police report and complained to the manager "Mike." This place has very horrible service. The staff is very rude. I dropped off a prescription on Friday morning. They do not staff on Saturday and Sunday. So my next best day was Monday. I called in the morning to make sure it was there and was going to be worked. The rep there told me it was. They told me they would call when it was complete. 4:55 pm .. I called back.. said it was still being worked on. The manager there advised me they don't staff on weekends due to the dr.s don't staff?? Little do they know that there are vets open that give prescription s that need to be filled. Now they are telling me they can't say it will be done today. They close at 630. ALSO. they told me that they have a back up on Monday due to being closed on weekends .. SHOULD THAT NOT TELL YOU TO BEEF UP THE STAFF ON MONDAY as a result my cat that has lung cancer will have to wait 5 days for the 2nd time in as many months. DO NOT GO THERE. After recently having a doctor recommend that I have a test done at this pharmacy, I called them to find out more about purchasing the test. The lady who answered the phone was short & rude to me. When I asked her about 2 different tests, she acted like I should know the difference. I went today to purchase the test to do at home & the same lady waited on me. I didn't catch her name, but could recognize her voice. I told her what I was there for & she started questioning me about who was reading the test results too me. I asked her if that was something they do there. Instead of saying "yes we'd be glad too", she said "yes with extra cost". I genuinely got the feeling that she thought I couldn't afford it! She also said several times, "well the doctor is going on vacation, so it may be several weeks". I told her I still needed the test & they could call me with results rather than going over in person in depth. After I purchased the test & filled out some forms, I told her "thank you for your help, have a nice day." She just looked at me. No one else was in the store at the time & I still felt rushed or like her answering my questions was an inconvenience. I do believe the pharmacy offers wonderful products & provides services that people need, but they should be there to pleasantly help customers, answer questions, & make you feel like you've come to the right place, 'make you feel like a bother. read more

If I didn't have to get a prescription filled here monthly, I would never go back. The employees are rude and unfriendly and act like they're doing you a favor to wait on you! I even had to ask for a bag for my prescription the last time I was there - unbelievable! I dread having to go into the store and wouldn't if I had another option. If there was a possibility to rate South River Pharmacy, I would with all respect give this pharmacy MINUS 5! It won't let you post it unless you rate at least one star! I have called in for the refill of the medication for my 4 year old son. The first time the doctor called in and medication was ready in 2 hours and they wanted to make sure U had it before they closed. Second time, I called in for refill. When I was calling to check on the status of that refill the only explanation I would receive was: "we need 24-48 hours and that the Lab is backed up". When 48 was approaching (as we really needed the medication) and I called to check again the person was rude. I asked to transfer the prescription to Westburry Pharmacy and I was told my son's medication will be ready for pick up that day. I decided to give the pharmacy another chance. Yet HERE we go again but even much worse. I called in for refill on Wednesday, Nov 23, 2016. I called ahead of time to make sure it is ready on time this time. Yer, I called on Saturday to see if I can come pick it up and I was told "It is NOT ready." Then I was told by Mr. Mike (very rude) that I called in on Nov, 23, 2016 at 4:05 pm. Then there is Thanksgiving (pharmacy was closed), then that the Lab is backed up and then that they are closed on Sundays and Lab is closed on the weekend." HOW WORSE it could get. I called in today, Monday, Nov 28, 2016 and the medicine is not ready yet. However, I was promised it will be ready today. When I said I will be there to pick it up after work at 5:30 pm, I was told "We will call you if it's ready." FIVE days later my son needs his compounded medication and FIVE days later is not ready. DO NOT TELL your customers that the pharmacy needs 24-48 hours for medication to be ready for pick up. It is 120 hours and you still don't have it ready!!!
