They need to do a consult on you first, in which they may or may not charge you for (they do) and it's $36 in which they poke and prod and then tell you you need thousands of dollars of work done and some treatments that they'll give you a discount for if you do it right there, that day. I left crying without a cleaning and now they keep harassing me for $36. At least I got X-rays done I can take to the next dentist.

On the date of service the office manager said they couldn't confirm coverage, even thought we provided the policy and asked for a large payment from us on the date of service saying we would get refunded once the insurance carrier paid them. Four months later, after being paid twice by the insurance company, CVFD refused to refund the overpayment pursuant to the EOB. We tried emailing and calling the office, but would never get a response. Finally we went into the office and the manager refused the refund even thought it was required under the policy. In contacting the insurance company, it turns out the the dentist was overpaid by the insurance company as well. The office manager told us that they had not been paid by the insurance company and yet the insurance company confirmed to me that the dentist cashed two checks from them. Just pain dishonest. This dentist group was less than honest with us and completely incompetent. Very fustraiting.

I was not notified they were moving him and a few days later when I went there to pick him up for a Doctor's appointment not one person was wearing a mask (Psychologist's, Counselors, Office Staff, Van Drivers, etc.) and this was in June 2020 at the height of Covid-19! I removed him from this place immediately and he is now in a professional environment, Casa Recovery, where the price we paid for one week will cover 90 days, and where they take Covid-19 seriously as well as the recovery of their patients. Then, to add insult to injury, I was sent a bill for $1,000 for less than a week in this sober living hell hole. They charged our insurance $2,680 a day for boarding, $1,877 for outpatient group therapy and $1,838 for outpatient individual. All for less than 1 week! Stay away from this place or at least get your costs in writing before you go!

I had a terrible experience at South O Smiles. I went in for a filling and within hours was in extreme pain. The dentist told me he had maxed out the lidocaine, yet I could still feel him drilling--unacceptable. I stopped him 3 times to give more lidocaine. Less than 10 days later, I had to get a root canal because the filling was placed over an exposed nerve. This was completely avoidable and shows a serious lack of care and attention. To make matters worse, I was heading out on a month-long trip and had to deal with the pain while traveling. I will not be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for competent, compassionate dental care. read more

I was surprised to be charged each time just to have it re-cemented, but at the time I didn't question it. Recently, an old filling failed, and based on my prior experience, I scheduled an appointment expecting to have a crown done. I arrived early, as usual, and was seated quickly--but then waited about 15 minutes before seeing the doctor. After a brief exam, I was told I needed a crown--which is exactly why I had scheduled the visit. After another wait, I was presented with an estimate of $2,300 (my last one here was ~$1,800 a couple years ago, so I understand pricing has gone up). I agreed to proceed. That's when I was told they didn't have time to do the procedure and I would need to come back and reschedule. This was frustrating. I had scheduled the appointment specifically for this work, arrived early, and still left without anything being done. What really pushed it over the edge was being charged for the consultation on the way out. I've since found a new dentist with a much more efficient setup--same-day crowns, lower cost, and a more professional patient experience overall. Dr. Streelman may be personable, but for me, the experience lacked the efficiency, communication, and value I expect
