They were empathetic to my situation and helped me navigate the next steps after they discovered that I had a broken jaw. The customer service was excellent and the staff was so friendly! After expressing my concern about brown spots on my teeth, my hygienist assured me she would help me get them out. Not sure whatever magic machine she used but not only are the stains gone but my teeth literally feel and look 10 shades whiter! I was with Dr. mcDonald years ago, only switched due to insurance coverage. A few weeks ago a filling came out, my insurance dentist could not get me in for 6 weeks. Proper 32 got me in the next day. The advice and cleanings I've had from the hygienists Bonnie and Paula, have been comfortable, quick and painless. They took the time to help my understand what my X-rays say about my teeth. The advice they gave makes me feel more confident in how I can improve my oral health. I used to dread the dentist and my teeth paid the price till I found Dr McDonald. I've seen him at all his practices and no matter the location it was always a pleasure. His new practice called The Proper Thirty Two is next level and this is like nothing you will find at any dentist office. Here is how it goes.... You walk in through the big roll up doors like something you see at a coffee shop or a hip new restaurant. You are greeted by friendly front desk staff or you may see Dr McDonald right there too if he not with a patient. They offer you a cold brew, kombucha or even a beer on tap. They sometimes have snacks too. If you are a bit early for your appointment you can hang out at the outdoor fire pit. When you get worked on there are tvs on the ceiling so I like to watch some surf videos. It's just an enjoyable experience. Bonnie, the dental hygienist, does a great job cleaning your teeth and you can tell she loves what she does. Their office is clean, hip, artfully designed, with state of the art equipment. You will love the ambiance! Everyone there is friendly and welcoming. They offer a private yearly dental plan that we participate in which works great for us. I thought a new hip restaurant was going in right on coast highway and turns out, it's this super dope dental office called The Proper Thirty Two. Not only does it look amazing, like I want to hang here all the time, but it's state of the art. Complete with kombucha, cold brew AND beer on tap (yeah you read that right) this place has it all. The staff is very friendly but they keep changing the hygienists and don't really know what I'm working on. Two different dentists gave me different prices for the San treatment. Dr Metcaf told me not to move so I don't get the material on the tissue in my mouth but when the hygienist sprayed it got on my tongue and burned or stung. Dr Metcaf didn't ask me what color I wanted and it came out much darker than I wanted, which was disappointing. The office had what looked like mold on the wall which doesn't foster a feeling of safety. In the middle of my treatment, Dr Metcaf left the room to do an exam on another patient, which I've never experienced in a dentist appointment and I didn't appreciate having to wait for him to see another patient in the middle of my appointment. I think he could tell I wasn't happy so he started filing down some other teeth that weren't on my treatment plan, which was shocking and unexpected because he didn't ask per read more

I just recently moved to Oceanside from Chicago and started seeing Dr. Smith at his old location in downtown Oceanside due to sudden issue with a crown. He fit me for the crown at his old office, but a couple of weeks later moved to the Proper 32 where he placed the crown and did an oral exam. Dr. Smith is awesome! He really takes his time to talk you through everything that is going on. I am confident that he is being honest with me and has my best interest in mind. It is not often one would say they enjoy going to the dentist, but Dr Matt McDonald and the staff at the Proper Thirty two are the exception. I have had horrible issues with my teeth since I was born. When I was 14, I had a quack of a dentist tell my mother I needed to have all of my teeth pulled. I have been to over a dozen dentist throughout the years and throughout my travels. I finally found the right one! I first came to Dr. McDonald 6 years ago to fix a broken crown that a lesser dentist had installed. I have since been back many times to fix all of my teeth issues. I can happily say that now I only need to go back for standard cleanings and check ups. This is a far cry from having all of my teeth extracted. Dr. McDonald is actually in the process of implanting two teeth that were extracted many years back. I am no longer embarrassed of my smile, my health is better, and I am not afraid to eat anything. The staff at the Proper Thirty Two are more like friends and the new office is amazing. The only negative is that I rarely get to enjoy the new office because everyone at the Proper Thirty Two is so efficient and considerate of your time that I never have to wait 2 minutes to be seen. Oh, and everything is done in the office, including crowns and implants. I have never had the pleasure to recommend a dentist before, but as I said before The Proper Thirty Two is the exception! read more
