Out of cell service and quite far from any kind of services. The campground itself is quite small and open - but with big grassy pads for tenting and great star gazing. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. There was no camp host but we were able to buy a bundle of firewood. Pit toilets in the bathrooms and a day use area with a power outlet where we charged our phones. The site has some interesting history, previously being the site of a sawmill. There are some placards around about this. We spent a bit of time exploring the trails - well maintained and pretty sufficient for a family with small kids. My kids also enjoyed seeing the pond and dam.

He is very knowledgeable about all things Silvies and put forth great effort showing us everything on the property that allows us to further plans. All the staff members we met and interacted with are most gracious and pleasant to be around. In the lodge, April, Nico and Carly are outstanding. On the ranges, Jeff knows his way around and is experienced, knowledgable and entertaining in his presentation of all things related to firearms and history. Chef Juan did an excellent job with the Saturday evening meal. We had all three meals of the day and they were plentiful and flavorful. The negative reviews here on Yelp are not supported in any way during our time there. The other guests we dined with were engaging and interesting. Sandy and Scott have a gem on their hands and we will happily contribute to the of development of winter activities there in any way we can. Thanks to all at Silvies!

Our site was listed as #13. There is No Site marked as 13. We drive around again and looked at someone else's map on the door. Site 13 was clearly marked in what appears to be the road to travel across the back of the campground... no post with a number NO promised electricity. We parked in empty site #14 to be out of the way of others looking for their own sites who might need to drive that back road. Site 14 has a post with a number and an older electric cord zip tied to the water spigot!! We didn't plug in we just went to o bed. We feel a bit like we have been 'had'.

When I called to have it changed back, they charged me an additional $82.87 for the 50 amp site. Although the reservation in Campspot shows a refund is due, it has not been received. Bend RV Resort to Cathi's Place, a tale of two parks!…read more Bend RV had every imaginable amenity you could want; it had the feel of a five star hotel. But it lacked one thing you could tell that the personnel running the park didn't really seem to be involved with the guests. Think Biltmore servants with there own stairs and passage ways so the guests weren't disturbed. Then we went to Cath's Place in Hines/Burns. It was a Saturday and she came out a greeted us like we were old friends. Cathi will try and greet all her guests, but she has a postal job that requires her to be gone 4 hours a day. She also works on all her equipment herself, while making her little slice of earth come alive with flowers and amenities. She has plans to expand but that will have to wait until she has the time and money to do it right. What I witnessed on Saturday night around nine, we were taking our dogs out for the last time before bed. People were coming to her park broke down (broken water hose) and they came to the park in their tow car, she stayed with them until the wrecker came and set their coach in place and hooked up. When I remarked that she went above and beyond the call of duty. She said, "That's what people do for each other."

This isn't just the best RV Park in Sumpter, it's one of the nicest RV Parks in Oregon. Spaces are…read morerelatively large and it feels rustic, with lots of trees and good shade coverage on hot days. The facilities are what you'd expect: attractive, clean and pleasant. But what really sets this place apart is the staff. We had our RV side door ripped off 4 out of 6 hinges by a nasty gust of wind, popping the rivet heads off all the hinge rivets on a Friday night. How was I going to fix that? Noboy is even open until Monday. Well, Dan at Sumpter Pines got out his drills to drill out the rivets, tap the holes in the frame and screw in some new aluminum screws. And he did it for free!! What a guy!! He saved out trip from possibly losing the door and wasting precious vacation time at an RV repair garage. He saved our vacation out of his skills and good nature. Thank you Dan!!

Being so late the office was closed so we took a chance and called the number we were so pleased to get a live person answering our call. Sherry came down to the office and got us checked in for our stay. We found out that Sherry and Ron had just purchased the park and have been busy cleaning the public areas and making renovations. Pride of ownership and great customer service shone through. We had a great stay and will be back!
