Our site was listed as #13. There is No Site marked as 13. We drive around again and looked at someone else's map on the door. Site 13 was clearly marked in what appears to be the road to travel across the back of the campground... no post with a number NO promised electricity. We parked in empty site #14 to be out of the way of others looking for their own sites who might need to drive that back road. Site 14 has a post with a number and an older electric cord zip tied to the water spigot!! We didn't plug in we just went to o bed. We feel a bit like we have been 'had'.

When I called to have it changed back, they charged me an additional $82.87 for the 50 amp site. Although the reservation in Campspot shows a refund is due, it has not been received. They also do not respond to emails or their contact info on the web page.

Bend RV Resort to Cathi's Place, a tale of two parks!…read more Bend RV had every imaginable amenity you could want; it had the feel of a five star hotel. But it lacked one thing you could tell that the personnel running the park didn't really seem to be involved with the guests. Think Biltmore servants with there own stairs and passage ways so the guests weren't disturbed. Then we went to Cath's Place in Hines/Burns. It was a Saturday and she came out a greeted us like we were old friends. Cathi will try and greet all her guests, but she has a postal job that requires her to be gone 4 hours a day. She also works on all her equipment herself, while making her little slice of earth come alive with flowers and amenities. She has plans to expand but that will have to wait until she has the time and money to do it right. What I witnessed on Saturday night around nine, we were taking our dogs out for the last time before bed. People were coming to her park broke down (broken water hose) and they came to the park in their tow car, she stayed with them until the wrecker came and set their coach in place and hooked up. When I remarked that she went above and beyond the call of duty. She said, "That's what people do for each other."

Once for fuel and water before driving the East Steens Road and once for dinner. We ordered the grilled cheese and a cheeseburger. Yum. It's just simple, good food. The cheeseburger was good (or so I hear, I didn't personally try it) but I really enjoyed the grilled cheese! The good melty American cheese, crisped buttery toast. It was just right. The service was good, helps being two of the 4 customers sitting down to eat but that meant of the front area, they were 2/3 full. There is a larger back area too. They have a little mini mart and the fuel station that kept them steadily busy while were there. Everyone we spoke to was genuinely nice, and they knew a lot of the customers that came in, not just us tourists.

He is very knowledgeable about all things Silvies and put forth great effort showing us everything on the property that allows us to further plans. All the staff members we met and interacted with are most gracious and pleasant to be around. In the lodge, April, Nico and Carly are outstanding. On the ranges, Jeff knows his way around and is experienced, knowledgable and entertaining in his presentation of all things related to firearms and history. Chef Juan did an excellent job with the Saturday evening meal. We had all three meals of the day and they were plentiful and flavorful. The negative reviews here on Yelp are not supported in any way during our time there. The other guests we dined with were engaging and interesting. Sandy and Scott have a gem on their hands and we will happily contribute to the of development of winter activities there in any way we can. Thanks to all at Silvies!

It was relatively quiet for being close to the highway, and clean. I felt like I was staying in my friend's backyard. And, it's secure. They close the gate to keep out unwanted middle-of-the-night visitors. I would definitely stay there again. Just call ahead to make sure there's room. Even though they have many acres, there is only space for a few campers at time, which is great if you ask me. Oh, the sunrise and sunset were gorgeous! They just ask for a donation to help them with their animal rescue work.

They've also graciously offered an RV spot on their land as well as dispersed tent camping on a donation basis as a community service. They also offer a clean bathroom, potable water and a solar shower with privacy tent upon request. You couldn't find nicer people! Be sure to look up their web page and call to check for availability before you come!
