It is absolutely beautiful out on the lake, and the views can't be beat. Here are some thoughts/recommendations for your visit: -The dock is NOT the place to fish with young children. It sways back and forth and kids are likely to fall in if they aren't watched carefully! Also be careful- there is lots of bird and deer poop on the dock! -It's hard to guess what might make the fish bite. Salmon eggs seemed to attract the most fish, but we still only caught one. We tried worms and fishing cheese as well. -The playground is really fun for kids, but the grassy area is filled with poop that make it hard to walk safely -The parking is so close to the lake, which was awesome!! Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here, and would recommend a visit! It's not a terribly far drive from Boise, either.

They have a wealth of hunting and guiding experience all over the country and world. We booked a bear hunt for 4 hunters. The accommodations at the lodge were amazing. Very comfortable cabins to stay in with home cooked meals every day. The guides worked their tails off for us, and wanted to see us punch our tags as much as we did. While their guiding abilities were great their personalities were even greater. I'd be happy to share a camp fire and beers with these guys any day of the week. Based on this trip we will be looking forward to hunting with Sawtooth Wilderness Outfitters every spring. You can ignore the bad review from the past owners and book with these guys with confidence.

Side note, my buddy did go on his hunt with Sawtooth, week after I was going. He was not impressed at all. They did not see a single deer. They did see a few elk, but way off. There's a nice sandy beach where you can set up your things. If you need it there are shaded and unshaded picnic tables on the pavement and bike racks to lock up your bikes nearby. Lots of ducks and geese so watch for poop bombs but not that bad. Overall a clean park. We noticed scuba divers, fishermen, magnet fishers, kayakers, and lots of paddle boards. The water is pretty clear and clean and is on the cooler side. There are rentals available if you want to pick up a paddle board or bring your own. On the hot summer weekends, get there before 11am because there is little to no parking after noon.

We must have called a dozen times to set up an appointment to take our family on this sleigh ride. They never returned the calls, even though we left messages. After some time we forgot about it (since winter was now gone and all our family that we were going to use it with were gone as well). fast forward to Jan 2016, we realized the coupon was expired, but called them hoping that they would honor the previously purchased coupon since we could never connect with someone to schedule the ride. NOPE, they admitted that the person they had scheduling these rides purchased via GroupOn didn't get back with people like they should have, but that didn't matter, we had to pay another $125 if we wanted the ride. Since we really wanted to take our family on this outing we went ahead and purchased it again directly from Allred Adventures. When the charge showed up on our card (a week after we took the ride), it was for $140. I called about this and they explained that they had to collect sales tax as well. Fine, except the sales tax, 6%, should have only been $7.50. When I asked about the other $7.50, they said we had to pay tax on the initial $125 coupon we purchased in 2014, even though we didn't use it!!! When I questioned them they basically said, "too bad!". Now for the actual sleigh ride itself (which was a retail value of $250) was the biggest disappointment of all. We drove an hour to get to Garden Valley, ID. We were told we would see a herd of elk and be able to feed them. The "scenic" ride was in a meadow behind their building, right between the highway and the back of the local high school. There was a herd of elk (which was cool) eating hay, but we never stopped to watch them or feed them. At the beginning of the ride the man driving the sleigh introduced himself and the two horses, then never said another word unless we asked him a few questions. There was nothing "scenic " about the ride since it was just a big loop around this meadow and only took 30 minutes. Biggest waste of time and money ever!!

My first time in Boise, visiting a lifelong friend, we hired Mike Raymondi to be our guide on the…read moreOwyhee River for a day of catch and release trout fishing. The three of us, retired women with modest fishing experience and a love for nature, instantly felt at ease as he selected the waders, boots and gear in the well-organized TRR store in Eagle ( when you go there, look up, you'll have a fish's point of view- watery blown glass ornaments suspended from the ceiling). We followed Mike's truck to the river where he selected a sweet spot clear of snags and sunken hazards. The birds and awe-inspiring panoramic beauty made focusing on the orange indicator a bit of a challenge. Mike gave us a quick and articulate tutorial on casting, mending and setting the lines, then he spaced us out on the length of the river where he grew several sets of eyes, simultaneously guiding our line work and alerting us to the bobber's behavior, which you see before you feel anything. I missed several nibbles because I saw a tanager or a flicker, but we all hooked and I landed a big brown trout with lovely speckles and no wounds from the brief fight we had in reeling it in. The big takeaway about a good or bad day fishing, according to Mike, is this: hooking and landing combine a multitude of very different skills, and many people who say the fishing was bad, missed the nibble or the set, and failed to catch what fish were there. To me, there is no bad day of fishing if you are in the care of a competent guide, supplied with proper gear, a spectacular picnic lunch (kudos to Tasso in Eagle) and in an exceptionally beautiful piece of God's country, which was the case for us. Now for those of you who believe the only value in fishing is catch, catch, catch, this review will mean nothing. Mike mustered all of his powers to switch out the types of nymph flies (we were nymphing this time), and we had a spare afternoon, but you can't make fish eat when they don't wish to. Nonetheless, we felt satisfied, happy and properly looked after by TRR's professional guide service.

They know the River extremely well & the fishing spots, even better. They were fun, patient, knowledgeable, & funny. They provided the gear; & fitted us prior to going out on the water.
