DO NOT USE THEM. They were hired to resurface our fiberglass pool due to some delimitation. Let's put it this way.... the pool was better before they started than it was when they finished. The owner is very arrogant and doesn't really care what you think. He also does not seem to care about his employees at all. Sure, he came back "to make it right" but only made things look worse. He also put tile up around the border which I have come to find out should not ever be done on a fiberglass pool. We are losing tiles on a regular basis. I have reached out to him to see if he could drop off or send us a couple since some have broken or gotten lost. No response. read more

Tom of South Florida Pools did a great job restoring my 25 year old fiberglass pool. He not only restored the pool but added a few of his magic touches. Do yourself a favor and find another company. We contracted with South Florida Pools last spring to resurface our fiberglass pool, repair cracks in and resurface the pool deck. They were slow, sloppy, unprofessional and the result is sub-par. The up-charge glass tile installed at the water line looks like a child did it. The guys left razor blades and trash all around the job site at the end of each work day and dumped the buckets of grit from sanding the pool surface into our newly sodded yard. I wasn't going to leave a review because I hate to leave poor ones, but the latest problem convinced me to do so. Upon "completing" their work, they reinstalled the underwater pool light with a non-stainless screw and the resulting rust is staining the pool wall. The owner, Tom, refuses to make it right. His attitude prompted this review which I should have left months ago. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of companies that do this type of work, but as we say, keep looking. I wish we had. read more

South Florida Pools did a super job restoring my fiberglass pool. The fibertec product they use works very well to add structural strength to the pool walls. I had a leak after their job and the owner agreed to recoat the pool for free. The pool looks beautiful and is guaranteed for 20 years. Great job! read more

Horrible workmanship. There is no excuse for this poor quality of work. Uneven tile work, grout lines all over the place, sharp edges. Looks awful and we now have to have another company fix their work. Find another company. read more

STAY CLEAR! South Florida Pools was contracted to fix the pool to 100% working condition, install a new ladder, power-wash and resurface the deck, build an enclosure and install a new chlorinator. Total cost was $18,000. We paid half up front which. The remaining balance to be paid upon work completion. We canceled the enclosure piece of the work ($9,000). Our mistake, because now they were paid 100% in full and certainly didn't care about the customer at this point. The new chlorinator was installed. Thanks for completing 10% of the contracted work. It took multiple times for them to install a new ladder. Even when they claimed they were finished, the work looked like something a kid would do. A pool ladder shouldn't shake in the concrete. Don't worry Tom, we ended up fixing so it is usable. We assumed that power-washing was the easiest part. Silly us. Not completed. We selected a specific tile for the inside of the pool. They went ahead and picked a different and lower quality tile and installed it. Thanks, I guess you have a better idea of what our pool should look like. Pool leaked. We had to fix that ourselves. Resurface the deck? I guess he didn't get around to that. It's not that they did poor work..they just didn't even do it! (even though we paid for it) I can't remember how many times he uttered, "It'll make it pop!" I guess he was referring to my wallet. We paid a HUGE amount of money to him for work that was never completed. When we tried to contact him multiple times regarding the remaining work, he threatened to call the police. Again, when we tried to contact South Florida Pools inquiring as to when they would complete the work that we paid for, he threatened to call the police for harassment. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Customer service is an absolute joke and so is his business. Stay away from this guy. read more

Our pool renovation was started in Feb, 2016. It is a fiberglass pool and needed to be resurfaced. The pool was originally built in 1979. SW Florida pools did the following: The fiberglass resurfacing was done and tile along and above the waterline was replaced. The entire deck was redone with pavers. They installed a salt chlorinator also. We have had several issues with the quality of workmanship and/or materials which indicate that we will not get as good a lifespan as the original pool. 1- there was a leak in the skimmer, which was in 2 cylindrical pieces that were not really attached to each other. We paid someone to fix that. 2-There are places which look like metal staining on the fiberglass, but I am told by our pool service that it is from the fiberglass gel coating breaking down, with cobalt leeching out? Not sure that can be fixed except by recoating the entire surface AGAIN, and after only 4 years of life from the last project, that is not happening. 3-The pavers have continual weeds and grass growing up between them. Not sure if this is normal-no one warned us of that or instructed us how to prevent or remedy it. I would not want to use roundup since it's a documented carcinogen now. My research has led me to get some 20x Vinegar solution from Amazon and spray the pavers everywhere greens are growing-the vinegar also kills any mold or mildew which is noted in the groutline. I wish I had researched before they talked me into the pavers- I would never have gone that route. 4-Now I note that the grout between the tiles along the upper portion of the pool is simply disappearing. We will be paying someone to regrout the tile so it does not start falling off. 5-Finally, the pool deck drain. The pavers these guys put in are very thick so that there was a need to put a long drain cover the length of the pool deck. However, they installed it over the previous drain instead of removing the previous drain cover. The tunnel under the drain they installed could not drain out, because it had the solid vertical of the pool cage on either end. It could only drain straight down, through the previous drain. The ultimate issue is that the space between the 2 drains has gotten totally clogged with mud and sand from between the pavers, so no water was draining anywhere. When there is much rain at all, the water completely covers our lanai, clear over to the French doors of our Florida room. All in all, I am dissatisfied enough with the job that was done and the continual issues we've had for the past 4 years, that I came online to see if the company was still in business and after seeing others had had problems also, I decided to post this review. Perhaps I can encourage someone else to look very carefully before hiring this work to be done so they won't have the same aggravation we have had. read more

Did a horrible job on my pool. Hired a third party contractor to help coat the pool. The drops are all in the tiles and running in the pool. Looks like a 3 yr old did the work. They won't fix it. They were hired by Krystal Pools. I can let you see the pool. Its horrible read more

My dream pool by South Florida Pools has been a nightmare. They started my pool January 15,2016 it is now July 5, 2016 and it is still not finished. There has been problem after problem. I paid up front for a custom pool and without approval they put in different and cheaper material than what was paid for and put on the contract. Tom has been a slob throughout the whole process he has left concrete all over my waterfall and stone around my pool. He leaves his work station dirty and unorganized after he leaves. He does not show up for appointments he makes. This whole experience has been a disaster and I wish I never used South Florida Pools to make my custom pool because it is no longer anything that I asked for! I do not recommend this company to anybody looking to remodel their pool. read more
