This company's internet says they will give me three to five megabytes a second.... I get 6 to 2.8 most of the time..... And I get a lot of dead time with zero up and zero down.... I called them and sit on hold for an hour and as soon as they pick up the phone my service comes back.... Although not as fast as it should be. I wish there was somebody else in my area I would drop them like a bad habit. Customer service is horrible also they blame it on my equipment.... Now if they would just blame it on their service and do things to fix it in our area then everything would be fine. read more

My installation technician Mason had an arrival window of 9 AM to 12 PM. At 8:45 AM I got a call from Mason asking if it was OK for him to show up early, to which I eagerly accepted. Mason showed up, provided a professional and courteous installation of my equipment, and was gone in around 30 minutes. We were even able to have a little chat while he worked! Five stars for professionalism, a quick install, and for making sure I was happy with what he'd done. Have not done any speed tests, but so far so good. Thanks again! read more

In my experience, the service from South Central Communications is continually degrading. Whats more, now days, when you call to request a ticket, they tell you that if the issue is not "their fault" you could be charged 80 dollars per hour for the visit. Thanks guys, I really appreciate that given the immense amount I pay, makes me feel special. This to me, strikes me as a monopolistic attitude where they feel they have no real competition. The internet is great but the customer service is negative. Tech support is meh. The technicians they dispatch are the only saving grace, they know what they are doing. Customer service is not so great. The reps I have talked to were rude and did not listen. They got testy and hung up on me after I pointed out that they were no help. Their customer service email does not reply or help. The hours of operation are inconvenient. They do not inform you about any issues with your account and you only find out after the fact. First, the speed is not anywhere near 1G (up or down). At best, the upload is about 6-7 mbps. On top of that, the router should be dual and have two signals. On our router, the signal only works at the slower 2.4 speed. To add to that, we have now paid to reconnect the service twice due to their billing department not typing our email correctly. I spoke to customer service and they say that once a reconnect charge has been billed, that they cannot undo it, which we all know is a complete lie. On top of that, how was I to know that they would charge me a reconnect fee for THEIR mistake in typing an email address? When I called about the speed, they PUSH you to diagnose it yourself by sending you an email instructing you how to reset your router... essentially unplug it, wait and plug it back in... Worst ISP ever. I pay for gigabit internet service. I do not expect to see gigabit download speeds, but I do expect to see something above 10Mb/s. I've called technical support multiple times over the past couple of weeks with the same "We don't see any issues with your modem or router". Not once have they come to my house to do any diagnosing in person. Sadly this is the only ISP in this area so staying connected means dealing with this horrible company. read more

Our property was already wired for phone service but we are very rural. Before the house was finished we had SCC internet thru the phone line and later, when we finished the house, thru a "wireless" antennae connection. Considering the weather conditions we've had out here together with the remoteness of our location we have always been both amazed and satisfied with the service reliability and the quick response to remedy the rare occurrence of no internet service. We will be among the last to get the fiber optic cable to our area and will most likely get rid of DISH in favor of the SCC streaming service. Reading other reviews I keep in mind that whenever the subject is a weak, slow or unreliable "internet connection" there's a computer or other device at the other end that you have to make sure is set up and working correctly to be able to determine what the reason is for a "bad" internet connection. read more

If you have ANY other choice than this company, take it. The cable TV is limited but the big problem is their menu of what is on TV thru Zap2it. It is wrong 100%of the time on at least 8 channels. It is like buying a dictionary that is not in alphabetical order. So to find out what cable programming is on, you have to surf thru. Don't waste your money. The worst service ever. I had a hard time getting the installer to come out. Then they were late and expected me to work around their schedule. Now I have been with out a phone or internet for 4 days and they can't seem to fix the problem. They aren't doing anything to Compensate for all the problem either. If you live on the mountain I advise do not use them, find something else. read more

They market themselves as the area's FASTEST broadband internet provider. Easy to do when you're the area's ONLY broadband internet provider. If I had a choice I'd pick Cox or Charter over SCC. I only get the speeds I pay for at 3am otherwise I am lucky to get 50% of the speed I should be getting. If you're moving to Kanab and need reliable, decent, and fast internet - don't. This company will leave you disappointed, and the service will cut out multiple times a month for no real reason. Eek! Methinks not. read more

Can't believe there are no reviews, especially negative reviews for this outfit. They must be controlling their YELP and other online feedback. I can only speak about past experiences: 1. DSLR internet speed and service was grossly over hyped and it took court action, I believe, for customers complaints to be heard. 2. In terms of land-line phone service SCC was best at padding the bill with every conceivable (legal?) fee. They combined this dis-service with very poor customer service and phone service. Given their historical service record and the vague, hyped up description of their "Fiber Link" service: "UP TO billions of mbs", I'm staying away from this predatory company. read more

A year ago SCC made some kind of change to their internet service and since then the reliability of their service is very bad. Several times each hour the internet connection fails for about 1 to 5 minutes then reconnects. I have tried asking them for help and they were friendly but so far have been unable to fix the problem. They had me replace/upgrade all of my equipment for a couple hundred dollars before they would even accept the fact that they are the source of the problem. I don't understand why they don't fix this and why they don't take cust service more seriously. read more

A year ago I would have given them 4 to 5 stars. If I had a issue it was usually my dish was out of line with their tower and they would fix it very fast. However, the last month my internet would go in and out or dead slow. I have called them numerous times and the last two times they said they would put a ticket in to help me. No one has called or come out since they put the ticket in. I am taking it that after almost 5 years with them they no longer want my business and I am now shopping around for new internet service. read more

Worst internet ever! They raised our bill $10 without warning. I never authorized you to charge my card $73.50 for incredibly slow internet that is out 99.99% of the time. If you have other options DO NOT go with SCC. Save the frustration and your money and look elsewhere. This business is the worst bait and switch organization I have had the displeasure of dealing with in a long time. They have become a monopoly in the area and after squeezing out all of the good providers in the area by buying them out or destroying them, they have finally made a statement in choking off nearly all your access while still expecting a hefty price at the end of the month. This is by far the worst company/internet provider by far. They have the worst customer service, their automatic payments are super unreliable, and the speed (mbs) that I pay for only works between 10pm to 3am. Back in October my personal account had more than enough to pay $98.45 for the billing of service of their "fastest network", but looking forward into November I realized that for some reason the money hadn't been processed. So I had called and talked to a service rep who was completely unhelpful and she said that my card had declined. To make a long story short I called my bank and they had confirmed that a payment was being processed October 15th from this company (by the way this is when they have pulled from my account each month) but was cancelled. Hmmm? "Cancelled"? Then November 15th comes along and they pull about $210.00 from my account to pay for Octobers and Novembers payment plus an additional fee to reinstate my service. So my card declines in October but you have no problem with pulling over $200 in November from the same card? How does that make any sense? So if you're looking into using this company beware, don't use the auto pay. Anyone else who's had an awful experience I encourage you to write a review about this company so that they can wake the F**& up and do a better job. read more

The only reason I gave them 1 star is because that is the lowest available rating. If available I would likely rate them at 1/2 a blue moon. Because that is what they provide when you have an issuse. A moon. well, they may as well show us their butt because they aren't providing anything more progressive than that. This isn't about a one time sour grapes experience. - consistently the worse excuse for internet access on the planet. Teetering on the cusp of fraud. Brings back memories of the 'good old days.. installing my free aol disc and being grateful that I no longer had to use 2 tin cans and a string to reach the rest of the world while enduring the painful scrapes and scratches of a 54K dial-up connection being established. We chased a 'deal' and got locked into a one year commitment. The signal is NOT faster and in fact, the 'wireless router they provided was so poor that they ran it. through the one we previously had through Kanab Expressweb. The constant outages and sloth like speed of both the internet signal itself and the response of the repair staff is mind boggling in this day and age. A total ripoff!
