When I got to the pharmacy, I found out that the item was not covered by our Part D Medicare insurance, and that the discounted cost would be $211. I used my phone to find that Walgreens had the same item for $133. When I got there 35 minutes prior to the time that the pharmacy closed I asked them to transfer the script from the grocery store pharmacy. They were able to get this done in less than 10 minutes and they even found a GoodRx discount for me that I did not know about, making the final cost to me just $86. I saved over $120 thanks to their pricing and help. This level of service was unexpected and exceptional, and the price was definitely appreciated.

I came in here the other day to get my 2nd shingles vaccine as I got my 1st one @ a CVS back in Las Vegas & knew that they would have a record of this because I wasn't sure of the exact date of when I did get my 1st shingles shot. The lady @ the pharmacy counter was very nice & was able to pull me up by my name & DOB. I had to update my insurance info as my plan changed the first of the new year. It was very busy when I stopped in here on a Thursday afternoon around 4pm. I didn't schedule an appointment for my vaccine as I was having trouble connecting to the CVS app. I tell ya the Verizon cell phone service in this area isn't the best. I was able to get my vaccine as a walk in even though it was busy. Jaime the pharmacist was the one who gave me my shingles shot. He was very friendly & nice to chat with. He gave me my shot without any issues (yes, the shingles vaccine does hurt! As I tell patient's "its not the needle that hurts its the medicine) & I had told him how I use to work here in my 20's. The pharmacy has grown as I counted probable about 5-6 people behind the counter. The store has even grown too. I have found that it has gotten more crowded with aisles/products, as if they put more in this store. There isn't much room to move down an aisle if there is someone else in it too. I did get my coupons from their coupon machine & did some shopping based on what coupons I had. I do find CVS to be more expensive than Walmart but with the coupons it helped by lowering the prices of some of the items that I wanted to buy. I did go to the self checkout (which I hate) & did have some problems with scanning my items but one of the employees came over right away & helped me fix the issues. I do find that it can be a pain in getting out of if you park on the smaller parking lot side so I went home the back way then trying to fit to get back out on islington street.

My first wegovy prescription came with instructions from the pharmacist to drink "40" ounces of water with my pill. That a lot of water..after a WEEK of these instructions, I was advises tjat its only "4" ounces of water. Im pissed..so my next month, I ran out of my medication due to the fact that the pharmacist sent for pre-authorization to my insurance! it IS SELF PAY! I called the pharmacist and we discussed how i told them it was self pay and I'm out of my pills..SHE hung up on me. Even then it just means I'd need to call ahead of time to get them filled. A place like Walgreens in rochester handles literally thousands of prescriptions a week if not more all these people "I had to wait 20 minutes boo-hoo 1 star" "they were a bit short with me and didn't smile 1 star" are annoying. I have worked many a manufacturing/shipping jobs so imagine every order you pick and prepare is now dependant on if people show up and if doctors are auto sending scripts you don't want​ or not sending what you do need i imagine its hell on earth on the other side of that counter I once saw them dealing with understaffing and like half the people in a 10-15 minute line were loudly complaining or getting aggressive could you imagine being the one dealing with that? They've been great for me. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes and sometimes your doc or hospital or insurance or whatever mess things up for you. It's American Healthcare and its a S show, and the pharmacists are doing their best despite it all. Take a breath, consider having empathy for the human beings who are providing a service to you, it's gonna be ok. If you hate waiting so much get your boring meds delivered, though obviousoy be wary that your meds will be left at your door not in your mailbox if you aren't there to accept delivery. If you have issues with the broader health system well congratulations and welcome to the resistance but you're directing your frustrations and ire in the wrong place.

No one ever picked up as once the clock hit 1:30am, the system hung up on me for the pharmacy's scheduled meal break. When I called the store itself to see if the pharmacist was in, I was informed that they would not be 24/7 all week - but the answering machine and the store's website don't mention this at all, and still act as though the pharmacy is available. An hour and a half on hold, and not once did the machine mention that no one was there. Just update the machine if it's going to be a week long thing, I've seen other Walgreens locations do it before, this was beyond frustrating.
