I elected for the meds to be made in a treat form. Unfortunately, when I got home my kitty didn't like them. I called them up and he offered to adjust the flavoring in the treat or to make a liquid suspension. I chose the liquid and it has worked wonders. Matt was extremely nice and helpful. He was truly caring about my situation, and even researched ways to make it cost effective and easy for me to medicate my cat, and something that she will enjoy more. He understood that my cat is like my kid and I want the best for her. It was an excellent experience, and I would recommend them to anyone needing specialized medications.

However, there are a whole lot of other reasons to like this pharmacy. I believe Matt is a very dedicated pharmacist. He is familiar with his customers and their prescription profiles which is very important. You are not being served by up to a dozen different pharmacists, often from other stores. (There is nothing wrong with this but I like to have someone who knows me personally). South Berwick Pharmacy has succeeded in compounding medicine for both me and my very ill cat. Each syringe is pre-filled which is a really big help for us. Matt's prices are terrific--he has found me a rare antibiotic when I had a hospital acquired infection that even the pharmacy at the hospital could not get. This pharmacist is knowledgeable, patient and kind. You should try the pharmacy because it is hard to describe just how differently you will be treated by a small pharmacy with big ideals. This pharmacy is the essence of all that is good about pharmacy, and pharmacists. Suggestion: If your pet is not liking the medicine ask to change the flavoring--I guess the same applies to children if it can be done given the compound. I don't know HOW Matt brings us such reasonable prices and such customized services for such a reasonable price, but he succeeds admirably!

Even then it just means I'd need to call ahead of time to get them filled. A place like Walgreens in rochester handles literally thousands of prescriptions a week if not more all these people "I had to wait 20 minutes boo-hoo 1 star" "they were a bit short with me and didn't smile 1 star" are annoying. I have worked many a manufacturing/shipping jobs so imagine every order you pick and prepare is now dependant on if people show up and if doctors are auto sending scripts you don't want or not sending what you do need i imagine its hell on earth on the other side of that counter I once saw them dealing with understaffing and like half the people in a 10-15 minute line were loudly complaining or getting aggressive could you imagine being the one dealing with that? They've been great for me. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes and sometimes your doc or hospital or insurance or whatever mess things up for you. It's American Healthcare and its a S show, and the pharmacists are doing their best despite it all. Take a breath, consider having empathy for the human beings who are providing a service to you, it's gonna be ok. If you hate waiting so much get your boring meds delivered, though obviousoy be wary that your meds will be left at your door not in your mailbox if you aren't there to accept delivery. If you have issues with the broader health system well congratulations and welcome to the resistance but you're directing your frustrations and ire in the wrong place.

No one ever picked up as once the clock hit 1:30am, the system hung up on me for the pharmacy's scheduled meal break. When I called the store itself to see if the pharmacist was in, I was informed that they would not be 24/7 all week - but the answering machine and the store's website don't mention this at all, and still act as though the pharmacy is available. An hour and a half on hold, and not once did the machine mention that no one was there. Just update the machine if it's going to be a week long thing, I've seen other Walgreens locations do it before, this was beyond frustrating.

I contacted the doctor's office to provide this authorization earlier this week. I then contacted my insurance company to confirm that the authorization went through. The insurance company confirmed that it went through on 2/3 (today is 2/5). During this insurance call, I asked what I would need to do if CVS does not recognize the authorization. The insurance company said CVS would need to call this insurance. I called CVS, who said the authorization was never provided. During a call in which I was passed around and talked at like I was not an equal human being, the pharmacist explained that I would need to call my doctor because "the doctor did not complete" the authorization paperwork. I then mentioned the insurance company's instruction that CVS would need to call them. The pharmacist REFUSED and said CVS does not call insurance companies. Throughout this call, the pharmacist continued to talk to me in a demeaning tone. I then called the insurance company back. They assured me the authorization was all set and that the doctor did not need to provide any additional information. I then explained the pharmacist's REFUSAL to call the insurance agency. The insurance company expressed astonishment that CVS refused to call. The insurance company then figured out that the problem was that the pharmacist was running the prescription with a 1/31 date even though the referral happened on 2/3 (which I had told the pharmacist). The insurance agent then reached out to the pharmacy to explain CVS' error. The problem was then resolved. What is not resolved is the pharmacist's demeaning treatment of me and her REFUSAL to call an insurance company. I am going to be taking this complaint all the way to the top. I am currently on the national customer service line. This is no way to treat a loyal customer.

It smells like old rugs and old cardboard. The candles and candy reek. It needs fresh air. I do think it is good they have medical supplies, however they need to have a systems overhaul. If you special order something it needs to get done, their follow through is bad. Their call back to notify you something is in is non existent. I drive by there quite frequently and almost never stop there. Because there is so much junk in there disguised as gifts that belong at big lots, it does not feel like a pharmacy. It feels dirty, cluttered, drab and tired. There are so many pharmacies in town with groceries and crap in them, maybe to stand out it should pretend to be a real pharmacy, dress like it, act like it, and lose all the peripheral junk.

Recently I've noticed that the pharmacists are changing and the service is far from customer friendly. The hours always seem to be changing making it impossible to get there and refill my prescription. Don't even think about going in there 15 minutes before closing, as the staff is extremely rude. I had not realized their hours changed once again and one of their employees greeted me with "UGH another one". I will be changing pharmacy's.
