Just moved to west ave and walked 15 mins in 95 degree weather to come get a spray tan, however was informed when I got there that they refuse to accept a photo of my ID and told me to "walk or pay for an uber" to go back home and get my physical ID before they can let me have 1 session. They also would not allow me to spray and bring my ID for next time . Buyer beware! We went in to suspend our account in April. We were told once the suspension was over and we paid for the account for 3 months (paying for July) we would be able to cancel our account anytime. We are having some financial hardships that have greatly affected our fiscal well being and have only tanned once in the last two months. My wife just went in to cancel our account after paying for the month of July and asked to cancel. After signing the paperwork, the cashier told us we would still have to pay for the month of August. She them told us that you have to cancel with a 30 days notice and that it was in our original contract. This is after the manager had previously told us that we could cancel anytime after we made our July payment and we paid for tanning for all of those months that we did not use the service. Why did the manager not tell us that when we went in to suspend the account prior to canceling? You basically have to pay for a month of tanning that you may not want to use or be able to afford. read more

The service here was so horrible. The desk girl was rude and bullyish. She knew absolutely nothing about about the beds or tanning products. She laughed at me when I asked questions. "How would I know." Is what she said while laughing. Told me where the bathroom was without evening acknowledging it needed a key and I had to walk back. South Beach tanning company has the best prices in the area I have looked all over and most places only offer custom airbrush towns so to find somewhere that has the convenience of spray booth tanning at the most affordable rate feels like a huge win to me I also really appreciate the professionalism and politeness of the staff both on the phone and in person also hard to find in the area. read more

This is pretty much the only Tanning Joint for a 3 Mile Radius .I live in Edgewater on the Bay across from the Beach. Tedious to get to Dreaded going , instead of looking f. Most of the Year and a Half I Tanned There I got minimal or no results . Just buying Accelerator Lotions with Self Tanner In them , which became my Tan. The Evening Female Staff from Late 2017 to March of 2018 were unusually stoic and one of then consistently unfriendly . The Male Staff in the Evening were as they should have been , Friendly -/ Outgoing , Helpful , and Very Hospitable ( allowing me extra time to get my lotion on in Room ) even addressing me by my first name . I have gone to south beach for quite some time. I'm not one to write reviews, but I feel, in this case it is necessary. I constantly notice how unfriendly the staff are, but just try to give them the benefit of the doubt and keep it moving. I also notice the floors are regularly covered in lotion and hair to the point that I wear my shoes until I sit down in the bed, but again I try to not criticize. Today, however, was on a different level of filth. I went to enter into a lay down and realized the bed was absolutely disgusting. It had not been cleaned. I let the staff know, and she didn't seem particularly phased by my concerns. Her explanation was that the beds reset themselves sometimes, so it appeared as clean on the computer. This idea is even more concerning because it seems like it's something that can happen regularly. The clean towel was placed on the bed for use as well so someone didn't even bother to glance at the bed to double check. The cleanliness standards here are not up to par for an establishment such as this. Unfortunately I'm already in a yearly contract, but will be doing stand ups from here on out. I feel bad for the owner, his salon is being ran into the ground and I imagine the health department would take serious offense with the state of his salon. read more

There is no question, the membership this place offers, is more difficult to get out of than a gym membership. Regardless of some of the reviews that are on here in reference to the membership, the defense of them accordingly is probably internally created. Shady place, they changed their banking DBA, which reads on the bank statement, in October as "South Beach Tanni", for November it reads "South Beach Tanning Co". I have personally placed a stop payment on all transactions from this place. Was advised by the bank, the stop payment system is very sensitive and this could have been done to evade the stop payment system. Am sure there are others like myself who have been scammed according to these reviews. This place should be out of business. This situation that has occurred of trying to evade all of the stop payments and disputed transactions, due to their poor business ethics; is a story for a news organization. These are professional con-artist that are operating this business. Strongly, do not recommend. read more

I go here frequently as I have all access. Get good results. However if you think you're going to get great results and not coming in daily, you're fooling yourself. Best is start with 6 minutes then 7 then 8 then 9 etc and build it up using different levels, no burn. solid tan read more

Do NOT buy a membership here!! You cannot suspended anytime or cancel anytime. Like they tell you! They told me I could not cancel until 3 mos after a 1 month suspension, that was July, after I paid july I could cancel, I paid 3 more months then went to cancel today and they said no, you need 30 days, so now I have to pay august too! My husband and i both have a membership so almost $200 again we have to pay when we just got bad news that affects us financially!! We have tanned 1 time in 3 mis, cancel us and stop lying!! So, to follow thete rules I had july 2nd to cancel,that 1 day only and you must go in to the stuidio, i was out of town!! You guys are the worst place of business. the bulbs have still not been changed. i have asked over 7-8 times when they will be and i'm told. they were just changed. that's bull shit and they know it knowing i suspended my account that i would use 6-7 times per week. and i stopped paying. i got a call from an employee who told me i could come tan for free for a week since the salon was running a promo for all to tan free in level one when i arrived i was told i could not use the promo because i didnt have my account active well if it was active i would not need to use the promo would i ? the female employees that work day time suck big time. i have no problem saying that to their face and i will. i have asked many customers who agree the bulbs are long over due and are old i am going to do a written survey with patrons who visit the salon and start a list to present to the owner south beach tanning is taking advantage of south beach locals and im gonna fight them until the bulbs are replaced. read more

I was actually going to write a formal complaint to the owner to express my dissatisfaction, but when I came here and saw all of the negative reviews that basically say the same thing as I'm about to say, I figured that step would be futile. Let me just add my negative review here to the pool. I have been buying their 6 session packages, and this will most definitely be the last package before I move to another salon. I have the SAME EXACT COMPLAINTS as almost everyone here that have evidently not been addressed and ownership seems to not care at all about: 1- HORRIBLE, rude and lazy daytime staff 2-Bulb replacement in some of the beds(I always use beds 4 or 5) The first item is the deal killer for me. I have just dealt with the unhelpful staff with a permanent negative attitude over the last couple months, but employee Patricia during the day was the one who topped it off in my opinion. With how this woman was acting, you would think I had gone into her personal residence to ask her to use her tanning bed as a favor! Just completely sh**ty attitude right from the get-go. Mumbling one-word unhelpful answers for anything I asked. I asked her for a key to the bathroom at one point, and it seemed like I had asked her to give up her lunch for the day. OBVIOUSLY a very unhappy person who hates her job and does not want to be there. Recommendation to you Patricia(and owner of establishment): if you don't like your job, get the hell out and find something you do like to do, and let someone who actually want to be there work there. Coming to this place totally ruins my energy, it feels gross being there. If I can find tanning beds elsewhere, I don't see a reason in the world to have to interact with people like this to get a tan. As a first time tanner I was very nervous and not very sure what I should do. When I first arrived at the salon the staff greeted me with a huge smile in their faces, and were willing to go through each of the packages with me until I understood and was ready to tan. Very helpful staff! They definitely know their products. I advise them that my fear was that I would look orange by the end of the ordeal and they assured me that I wouldn't with a light spray. The manger of the store was there and was very fun and delightful. I love my new tan and will definitely becoming a member! I will be recommending this store to all of my friends! read more

I've been a member of SBT for about two years now and my experience has been great. Recently, my tanning lotion actually expired three months after I bought it (through no body's fault) Angelica, the manager, was made aware and switched out my lotion with no issue at all and also apologized for the inconvenience.
